Abstract

PURPOSE: To attain the balance of impedance bridge stably and automatically in a simple constitution, by providing a phase control circuit intended to detect the phase difference of currents flowing in two branch circuits of a bridge and control so that the phase difference be zero.
CONSTITUTION: For the input to a phase difference detection circuit 1, the outputs of two branch circuits of a bridge are applied, and the phase difference is detected. Controlling the voltage e3 with respect to the earth potential, a variable impedance 5 is controlled in a direction to decrease this phase difference. The output voltage of the two branch circuits are inputted into a differential circuit 3. This differential circuit 3 outputs the difference of the two inputs. An automatic gain control circuit 2 controls e4 by a level difference detection circuit 4 to decrease the output voltage e0, so that the gain is controlled in a direction to render the potential difference between e1 and e2 to zero. When the said operations of phase control and gain control are performed simultaneously, the output voltage e0 becomes zero, so that the bridge may be balanced.
