PURPOSE:To adjust color balance stably, by controlling automatically the threshold value, which the threshold determining circuit outputs, according to the signal obtained by gating the error signal and by operating and generating a color balance control signal from the error signal. CONSTITUTION:R, G and B signals from input signal terminals 1-3 are compared with the set value from gamma threshold determining circuit 7 by level comparators 4-6, and signals which are a prescribed level or less are detected by AND gate 8. Further, the G signal is input as the reference signal, and outputs of differential amplifiers 9 and 10 which output difference signals between G and R and between G and B are applied to gate circuits 11 and 12, and circuits 11 and 12 are controlled by the output of gate 8; and when the output of gate 8 exists, the difference signals are held in average value holding circuits 13 and 14, and a color balance signal is operated from the error signal by operation control part 15. R and B gamma control signals are output from control part 15, and the color balance signal is applied to circuit, thereby adjusting color balance stably.
