Abstract

PURPOSE: To simplify the process, to increase the mechanical strength and to facilitate take-out of leads from a heating transparent conductive film by covering the outer side of a substrate with the heating transparent conductive film and by soldering the electrode leads by ultrasonic waves.
CONSTITUTION: Transparent glasses 1 and 2 are equipped on their inner sides with transparent electrodes 3 and 4 having a preset shape for liquid crystal display and are covered on their outer sided with heating transparent conductive films 9 and 10. Along the opposite both ends of the films 9 and 10, power supplying electrodes 11a, 11b, 12a and 12b are produced by the use of ultrasonic solder and are electrically connected. The substrates 1 and 2 hold a spacing of about 10 microns through spacers 5 and 6, and the clearance between the substrates is filled up with a nematic liquid crystal 7 having positive dielectric anisotropy. There are mounted on the outer sides of the films 9 and 10 polarizing plates 13 and 14 thereby to complete a TN type liquid crystal dispaly device 8. Thus, this device 8 can be heated uniformly and quickly to a high temperature.
