Abstract

PURPOSE: NO in burnt waste gas is oxidized to NO2 and washed with aqueous NaOH solution containing antioxidant to remove NOx and SOx. Ca salt is added to the washed solution to precipitate solid which is separated. The filtrate is circulated for reuse. The process effectuates NOx and SOx removal without being affected by O2 in waste gas.
CONSTITUTION: Burnt waste gas is transmitted through the cooling dust remover 2 to the oxidizer 3, where NO is oxidized to NO2 by oxidizing agent. The gas is then sent to the cleaning apparatus 6 to be cleaned with aqueous NaOH solution of 10 to 160m mole/1, removing NOx and SOx. The absorbing liquid is sent from the apparatus 6 to the gypsum-substituting apparatus 8, where the liquid is adjusted to pH 10 or greater by adding Ca(OH)2 to precipitate CaSO3, CaSO4 and amino Ca compounds. The liquid-solid separator 9 separates the precipates to send it to the oxidizer 10, and the filtrate to send to the cleaning apparatus 6. In the oxidizer 10, water is added to the precipitates making it slurry, then sulfuric acid is added to the slurry adjusting its pH to 2 to 4, the slurry is then oxidized by air under the pressure of 3 to 5kg/cm2 to modify CaSO3 to CaSO4 which is separated by the liquid-solid separator. The filtrate is treated in the thermal decomposer 12 at 70 to 200°C to modify amino compounds ino NH4 salts, which is adjusted to pH 10 or greaer in the discharger 13, thereby discharging NH3.
