Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1. 印刷用紙、特に充填剤として析出炭酸カルシウム(PCC)を使用して製 造される印刷用紙の疎水性を改良する方法であって、疎水性サイズ剤として少な くともケテン二量体化合物を含み、さらに水溶性コロイドポリマーを含んだサイ ジング分散物を、ウェッブの生成に先立ってパルプスラリーに添加することによ り、インクジェット印刷に要求されるレベルまで印刷用紙の疎水性を改良する方 法において、前記水溶性コロイドポリマーを前記疎水性サイズ剤の約150〜2 50重量%の範囲で含有するサイジング分散物を使用することを特徴とする印刷 用紙の疎水性を改良する方法。 2. 請求項1に記載の方法を実行するための疎水性物質配合物であって、前記 配合物は、水溶性コロイドポリマーと組合わせられ、好ましくは、表面活性化合 物、殺菌剤、及びpH調整剤と組合わせられた、ケテン二量体化合物を疎水性サ イズ剤として少なくとも含有している疎水性物質配合物において、前記配合物は 、前記水溶性コロイドポリマーを、前記疎水性サイズ剤の約150〜250重量 %の範囲で含有していることを特徴とする疎水性物質配合物。 3. 前記水溶性コロイドポリマーが両性低粘度スターチであることを特徴とす る請求項2に記載の配合物。 4. 前記疎水性サイズ剤の含有量が約1〜15重量%、好ましくは6〜15重 量%であることを特徴とする請求項2または3に記載の配合物。 5. 前記疎水性サイズ剤が、ケテン二量体化合物の他にアルケニル無水コハク 酸を含有することを特徴とする請求項2〜4のいずれかに記載の配合物。 6. 前記アルケニル無水コハク酸の含有量が、ケテン二量体の重量の20〜7 0%、好ましくは30〜50%であることを特徴とする請求項5に記載の配合物 。 7. 前記疎水性サイズ剤が前記ケテン二量体化合物の他にロジンを含むことを 特徴とする請求項2〜4のいずれかに記載の配合物。 8. 前記ロジンが強化ロジンであることを特徴とする請求項7に記載の配合物 。 9. 前記疎水性サイズ剤が前記ケテン二量体化合物の重量の約20〜50%レ ベルのロジンを含有していることを特徴とする請求項7または8に記載の配合物 。 10.前記保護コロイドポリマーの重量の2〜15%レベルの硫酸アルミニウム を含有することを特徴とする請求項7〜9のいずれかに記載の配合物。 11.前記ケテン二量体化合物がアルキル、アルケニル、アリール、及びアルカ リルケテン二量体からなるグループから選択されることを特徴とする請求項2〜 10のいずれかに記載の配合物。
