【００１０】魚鱗癬症状の既知の治療は、水和皮膚軟化
薬を皮膚に局所塗布することを含む。なお、サリチル酸
またはビタミンＡ含有軟膏が広く用いられている。角質
溶解剤は、尋常性魚鱗癬、層状魚鱗癬および伴性魚鱗癬
のかさぶたを取り除くのに効果的であり、プロピレング
リコール、エチルアルコール、ヒドロキシプロピレンセ
ルロースおよび水からなるゲル中６％サリチル酸を含有
する。

著な効果を有することが判明した。

【００１４】本発明の組成物を製造するために、Ｌ−カ
ルニチントリクロロ酢酸塩を、最初に好ましくは、水ま
たはエタノール中に溶解する。このようにして製造した
溶液を、親水性軟膏（ＵＳＰ）またはワセリン（ＵＳ
Ｐ）のような一般に入手可能な軟膏基剤と通常の方法で
混合することができる。本発明の化合物を溶解するのに
用いる水またはエタノールは、組成物全体の１−３０容
量％の濃度の範囲であってもよい。本発明の化合物はま
た溶液またはローションの形態に処方され得る。例え
ば、本発明のエステルを水、エタノールおよびプロピレ
ングリコール（４０：４０：２０重量比）の混合物に直
接溶解する。

水性軟膏９５ｇと混合した。

【００１６】臨床試験 (ａ)魚鱗癬の治療 魚鱗癬の１５人の患者に最初にシャワーを浴びて体を濡
らし、ついで、上述の製剤例２により製造された５％軟
膏の薄膜を患部にはるように指示した。局所投与を１日
２回を数週間続ける。一般に、患部部分の皮膚は、処置
２週間後、かさぶたが少なくなり、なめらかな感じにな
った。通常、患部の皮膚はかさぶたが少なくなり、最初
の処置後２〜４週間以内に一見正常に見える皮膚に匹敵
する改善された状態に達した。一度、一見正常に見える
皮膚に回復すれば、患者によって異なるが、さらに軟膏
の投与をしないでも数週間から数カ月改善された状態を
保った。しかしながら、皮膚を明白な疾患の再発を避け
るためには軟膏の投与を続けることが必要である。１０

を１日２回患部に投与するように指示した。全ての患者
が処置２週間後実質的な改善を示した。

【００１８】(ｃ)ふけの治療 ふけ症状のひどい８人の患者に上記の５％溶液を１週間
に２回頭皮にすり込むように指示した。この局所投与の
溶液は、ふけの徴候全て、すなわち、８人全ての患者の
頭皮上のかさぶたの形成を阻止した。効き目は、いずれ
の患者も約１週間以内に認められ、処置終了後、正常な
皮膚の状態が、少なくとも１〜２週間維持できることが
認められた。
