Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1.異なるサービス区域を持つ多レベルのセルで無線チャンネルが与えられる 領域内のセルラ無線システム内で動作する、移動局のハンドオフを行う方法であ って、 システム内の互いに関連するセルに関して、どの前記セルのサービス区域が同 延か、近接か、隣接か、重複かの優先度のカテゴリを各セル内で割り当て、 前記移動局と、システム内の関連するセルにそれぞれサービスする基地局と、 の間の通信を行う無線信号強度を測定し、 各無線信号の信号強度と所定のしきい値とを比較し、 前記無線信号の信号強度が前記しきい値より大きいかどうかと、前記関連セル に割り当てられた優先度とに基づいて、前記関連セルにサービスする基地局に前 記移動局をハンドオフするかどうかを決定する、 ことを含む、ハンドオフを行う方法。 2.各セルに割り当てられる、各関連セルに対する優先度のカテゴリは、高い 優先度、等しい優先度、低い優先度を含む、請求項1記載のハンドオフを行う方 法。 3.関連セルは、そのサービス区域が前記セルのサービス区域より実質的に小 さい場合は高い優先度カテゴリを、そのサービス区域が前記セルのサービス区域 と実質的に同じ場合は等しい優先度カテゴリを、そのサービス区域が前記セルの サービス区域より実質的に大きい場合は低い優先度カテゴリを割り当てられる、 請求項2記載のハンドオフを行う方法。 4.前記セルはマクロセルと、マイクロセルと、ピコセルを含む、請求項2記 載のハンドオフを行う方法。 5.信号強度を測定する無線信号は、前記移動局から前記基地局に放送される 信号である、請求項1記載のハンドオフを行う方法。 6.前記決定段階は、 各セルから受信した信号が特定の優先度を持った優先度の高い、等しい、また は低いセルから来たものかどうかを第1に決定し、次に前記第1決定に応じて、 前記受信信号強度値が前記しきい値より大きいかどうかを決定する、 ことを含む、請求項2記載のハンドオフを行う方法。 7.第1セルにサービスする第1基地局により第1無線チャンネルでサービス され、異なるサービス区域を持つ多レベルのセルで無線チャンネルが与えられる 領域内のセルラ無線システム内で動作する、移動局の最良サーバを選択する方法 であって、 前記システム内の相互に関連するセルに関して、どの前記セルのサービス区域 が同延か、近接か、隣接か、重複かの優先度のカテゴリを各セル内で割り当て、 前記割り当てを行うセルの大きさに対するサービス区域の大きさに基づいて、優 先度が高い、優先度が等しい、優先度が低いというカテゴリを各関連セルに割り 当て、 第2関連セルにサービスする第2基地局により第2無線チャンネルで放送され る情報を受信して記憶し、 前記第1および第2無線チャンネルでそれぞれ放送される無線信号の信号強度 を測定し、 前記第2無線チャンネル信号を受信するセルの優先度カテゴリを決定し、 以下の条件、(a)優先度の高い優先度カテゴリを持ち、第2無線チャンネル の無線信号の信号強度が所定の値より大きい第2セル、(b)優先度の等しい優 先度カテゴリを持ち、第2無線チャンネルの無線信号の信号強度が第1無線チャ ンネルの無線信号の信号強度より大きい第2セル、(c)優先度の低い優先度カ テゴリを持ち、第1無線チャンネルの信号強度が所定の値より小さく、第2無線 チャンネルの無線信号の信号強度が第1無線チャンネルの信号強度より大きい第 2セル、のいずれかに応じて、第2無線チャンネルで放送する第2基地局を最良 サーバと選択する、 ことを含む、最良サーバの選択を行う方法。 8.関連セルは、そのサービス区域が第1セルのサービス区域より実質的に小 さい場合は優先度の高い優先度カテゴリを、そのサービス区域が第1セルのサー ビス区域と実質的に等しい場合は優先度の等しい優先度カテゴリを、そのサービ ス区域が第1セルのサービス区域より実質的に大きい場合は優先度の低い優先度 カテゴリを割り当てられる、請求項7記載の最良サーバの選択を行う方法。 9.ある関連セルがそのサービス区域内で前記第1セルと同延か、近接か、隣 接か、重複の場合に前記第1セル内で優先度の高い優先度カテゴリを与えられる 、請求項7記載の最良サーバの選択を行う方法。 10.前記移動局は前記第1セルに関連する各セルから無線チャンネルで放送 される情報を順次受信して記憶し、次に前記方法の追加の段階に従って、前記各 関連セルの基地局を可能な最良なサーバと評価する、請求項9記載の最良サーバ の選択を行う方法。 11.前記第1セルの前記関連セルはマクロセル、マイクロセル、ピコセルを 含んでよい、請求項7記載の最良サーバの選択を行う方法。 12.信号強度を測定する無線信号は前記移動局から前記基地局に放送される 信号である、請求項7記載の最良サーバの選択を行う方法。 13.信号強度を測定する無線信号は前記基地局から前記移動局に放送される 信号である、請求項7記載の最良サーバの選択を行う方法。 14.異なるサービス区域を持つ多レベルのセルで無線チャンネルが与えられ る領域内のセルラ無線システム内で動作する、移動局のハンドオフを行うシステ ムであって、 システム内の互いに関連するセルに関して、どの前記セルのサービス区域が同 延か、近接か、隣接か、重複かの優先度のカテゴリを各セル内で割り当てる手段 と、 前記移動局と、システム内の関連するセルにそれぞれサービスする基地局と、 の間の通信を行う無線信号強度を測定する手段と、 各無線信号の信号強度と所定のしきい値とを比較する手段と、 前記無線信号の信号強度が前記しきい値より大きいかどうかと、前記関連セル に割り当てられた優先度とに基づいて、前記関連セルにサービスする基地局に前 記移動局をハンドオフするかどうかを決定する手段と、 を含むハンドオフを行うシステム。 15.各セルに割り当てられ、各関連セルに対する優先度のカテゴリは、高い 優先度、等しい優先度、低い優先度を含む、請求項14記載のハンドオフを行う システム。 16.関連セルは、そのサービス区域が前記セルのサービス区域より実質的に 小さい場合は高い優先度カテゴリを、そのサービス区域が前記セルのサービス区 域と実質的に同じ場合は等しい優先度カテゴリを、そのサービス区域が前記セル のサービス区域より実質的に大きい場合は低い優先度カテゴリを割り当てられる 、請求項15記載のハンドオフを行うシステム。 17.前記セルはマクロセルと、マイクロセルと、ピコセルを含む、請求項1 5記載のハンドオフを行うシステム。 18.信号強度を測定する無線信号は、前記移動局から前記基地局に放送され る信号である、請求項14記載のハンドオフを行うシステム。 19.前記決定手段は、 各セルから受信した信号が特定の優先度を持った優先度の高い、等しい、また は低いセルから来たものかどうかを第1に決定する手段と、次に前記第1決定に 応じて、前記受信信号強度値が前記しきい値より大きいかどうかを決定する手段 と、 を備える、請求項15記載のハンドオフを行うシステム。 20.第1セルにサービスする第1基地局により第1無線チャンネルでサービ スされ、異なるサービス区域を持つ多レベルのセルで無線チャンネルが与えられ る領域内のセルラ無線システム内で動作する、移動局の最良サーバの選択を行う システムであって、 前記システム内の相互に関連するセルに関して、どの前記セルのサービス区域 が同延か、近接か、隣接か、重複かの優先度のカテゴリを各セル内で割り当て、 前記割り当てを行うセルの大きさに対するサービス区域の大きさに基づいて、優 先度が高い、優先度が等しい、優先度が低いというカテゴリを各関連セルに割り 当てる手段と、 第2関連セルにサービスする第2基地局により第2無線チャンネルで放送され る情報を受信して記憶する手段と、 前記第1および第2無線チャンネルでそれぞれ放送される無線信号の信号強度 を測定する手段と、 前記第2無線チャンネル信号を受信するセルの優先度カテゴリを決定する手段 と、 以下の条件、(a)優先度の高い優先度カテゴリを持ち、前記第2無線チャン ネルの無線信号の信号強度が所定の値より大きい第2セル、(b)優先度の等し い優先度カテゴリを持ち、第2無線チャンネルの無線信号の信号強度が第1無線 チャンネルの無線信号の信号強度より大きい第2セル、(c)優先度の低い優先 度カテゴリを持ち、第1無線チャンネルの信号強度が所定の値より小さく、第2 無線チャンネルの無線信号の信号強度が第1無線チャンネルの信号強度より大き い第2セル、のいずれかに応じて、第2無線チャンネルで放送する第2基地局を 最良サーバとして選択する手段と、 を含む、最良のサーバの選択を行うシステム。 21.関連セルは、そのサービス区域が第1セルのサービス区域より実質的に 小さい場合は優先度の高い優先度カテゴリを、そのサービス区域が第1セルのサ ービス区域と実質的に等しい場合は優先度の等しい優先度カテゴリを、そのサー ビス区域が第1セルのサービス区域より実質的に大きい場合は優先度の低い優先 度カテゴリを割り当てられる、請求項20記載の最良サーバの選択を行うシステ ム。 22.ある関連セルがそのサービス区域内で前記第1セルと同延か、近接か、 隣接か、重複の場合、前記第1セル内で優先度の高い優先度カテゴリを与えられ る、請求項20記載の最良サーバの選択を行うシステム。 23.前記移動局は前記第1セルに関連する各セルから無線チャンネルで放送 される情報を順次受信して記憶し、次に前記方法の追加の段階に従って、前記各 関連セルの基地局を可能な最良なサーバと評価する、請求項22記載の最良サー バの選択を行うシステム。 24.前記第1セルの前記関連セルはマクロセル、マイクロセル、ピコセルを 含んでよい、請求項20記載の最良サーバの選択を行うシステム。 25.信号強度を測定する無線信号は前記移動局から前記基地局に放送される 信号である、請求項20記載の最良サーバの選択を行うシステム。 26.信号強度を測定する無線信号は前記基地局から前記移動局に放送される 信号である、請求項20記載の最良サーバの選択を行うシステム。 27.異なるサービス区域を持つ多レベルのセルで無線チャンネルが与えられ る領域内のセルラ無線システム内で動作する、移動局のサーバの選択を行う方法 であって、 各セル内に、前記セルのサービス区域とほぼ関連するサービス区域を持つ隣接 セルのリストを設け、 前記各セルが移動局にサービスするのに使える選択された無線チャンネル信号 強度レベルを割り当て、 前記リストにある前記各隣接セルに関して、各セル内で優先度のカテゴリを割 り当て、 前記移動局と、現在前記移動局にサービス中のセルおよびその各隣接セルの基 地局との間で通信する無線信号の強度を測定し、 その優先度カテゴリが現在サービス中のセルより優先度が高く、かつこれと通 信する無線信号の測定強度が許容サービスレベルとして割り当てられた強度と少 なくとも等しい、前記リスト上の任意の隣接セルの基地局を前記移動局のサーバ として選択する、 ことを含む、サーバの選択を行う方法。 28.前記各隣接セルの選択された無線チャンネル信号強度レベルのヒステリ シス値を前記サービス中のセルに割り当てる追加の段階を含み、前記選択する段 階は、 ある隣接セルと通信する無線信号の測定信号強度が、前記割り当てられた許容 サービス信号強度レベルより、これに割り当てられたヒステリシス値と少なくと も等しい値だけ大きい場合は、前記隣接セルを前記移動局のサーバとして選択す る段階を更に含む、請求項27記載のハンドオフを行う方法。 29.各セル内で各隣接セルに割り当てられる優先度カテゴリは高い優先度、 等しい優先度、低い優先度を含む、請求項27記載のハンドオフを行う方法。 30.異なるサービス区域を持つ多レベルのセルで無線チャンネルが与えられ る領域内のセルラ無線システム内で動作する、移動局のサーバの選択を行う方法 であって、 各セル内に、前記セルのサービス区域とほぼ関連するサービス区域を持つ隣接 セルのリストを設け、 前記各セルが移動局にサービスするのに使える選択された無線チャンネル信号 強度レベルを割り当て、 前記リストにある前記各隣接セルに関して、各セル内で優先度のカテゴリを割 り当て、 前記移動局と、現在前記移動局にサービス中のセルおよびその各隣接セルの基 地局との間で通信する無線信号の強度を測定し、 その優先度カテゴリが現在サービス中のセルと優先度が等しく、かつこれと通 信する無線信号の測定強度が現在サービス中のセルと通信する無線信号の測定信 号強度より大きい、前記リスト上の任意の隣接セルの基地局を、前記移動局のサ ーバとして選択する、 ことを含む、サーバの選択を行う方法。 31.前記各隣接セルの選択された無線チャンネル信号強度レベルのヒステリ シス値を前記サービス中のセルに割り当てる追加の段階を含み、前記選択する段 階は、 ある隣接セルと通信する無線信号の測定信号強度が、現在サービス中のセルの 測定信号強度より、これに割り当てられたヒステリシス値と少なくとも等しい値 だけ大きい場合に限り、前記隣接セルを前記移動局のサーバとして選択する段階 を更に含む、請求項30記載のハンドオフを行う方法。 32.放送電力および得られるサービス区域が大から小まで変動する基地局か ら各セルが無線サービスを受ける、多レベルのセルで無線チャンネルが与えられ る領域内のセルラ無線システム内で動作する、移動局のサーバの選択を行う方法 であって、 各セル内に、前記セルのサービス区域とほぼ関連するサービス区域を持つ隣接 セルのリストを設け、 前記各セルが移動局にサービスするのに使える最小無線チャンネル信号強度を 割り当て、 前記移動局と、現在前記移動局にサービス中のセルおよびその各隣接セルの基 地局との間で通信する無線信号の強度を測定し、 現在サービス中のセルとその隣接セルの中から、最小のサービス区域と、前記 最小の許容値と少なくとも等しい無線信号強度とを持つセルを、前記移動局のサ ーバとして選択する、 ことを含む、サーバの選択を行う方法。
