Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent water which leaks to the cabin side from a weather strip and flows down along the weather strip, from invading through the back face side of the end section of the weather strip into the cabin, in the roof side weather strip installed along the door opening periphery of a body. CONSTITUTION:A lip 23 kept in contact with the trim member 8 of a door opening periphery is formed in the side surface at the inside of the door glass seal line of a hollow shaped weather strip 2, and a first through hole 6a passing through the inside of the hollow section 25 of a terminal section 2B is formed in the vicinity of the terminal 231 of a lip 23 of the terminal section 2B of the weather strip. Moreover, a second through hole 6b passing through the back face side of the terminal section 2B from the terminal of the hollow section 25 is formed, besides, a projected rib 7 which is extended to the lower end of the terminal section 2B along the cabin side of the second through hole 6b, is formed in the back face of the terminal section 2B. And the structure is so constituted that water having invaded in the inside of the weather strip is made to flow in the lip 23, the first through hole 6a, the hollow section 25 and the second through hole 6b so as to be discharged outside along the projected rib 7.

By the way, at the time of rain or car wash, especially when high-pressure car wash, the mounting base 2 of the retainer 10 and the weather strip 2 is mounted.
Water may enter the inside of the vehicle through the gap between the retainers 10 and the gap between the retainer 10 and the door opening edge panel to which the retainer 10 is attached. The water is received by the lip 23 and flows down along the lip 23, but the water accumulates as a dead end at the step portion 24. When the amount of accumulated water increases, there is a possibility that the water may enter the vehicle interior through the gap between the panel at the opening edge and the mounting surface of the end portion of the weather strip 2.
