Abstract

(57)【要約】 【目的】 フッ素樹脂製品を他の相手物に接着するに際
し、接着界面が剥がれて隙間やガタつきを生じることが
なく、しかも接着物の形状に制約のないフッ素樹脂の接
着構造を提供することを目的とする。 【構成】 フッ素樹脂と相手物とを接着剤により固着し
てなるフッ素樹脂の接着構造において、フッ素樹脂の接
着剤塗布面に孔部もしくは溝部を形成し、この孔部もし
くは溝部の表面にコロナ放電処理を施す。

【発明の詳細な説明】
【0001】
【産業上の利用分野】本発明は、フッ素樹脂製のパイ
プ,棒,板等を他のフッ素樹脂製品と若しくは他の材質
の製品と接着するためのフッ素樹脂の接着構造に関す
る。
【0002】
【従来の技術】周知のように、フッ素樹脂は、表面に特
別な処理を施さない限り相手物に接着剤にて接着するこ
とができない。これは、フッ素樹脂の成分のフッ素と炭
素とが結合エネルギーの大きい共有結合で結合されてお
り、しかもフッ素同士の反発のため分子鎖は曲がり難く
剛直で、更に、表面エネルギーが著しく低いためであ
る。
【0003】このため、例えば特開昭62−16452
5号公報では、円筒状のフッ素樹脂を接着するに際し、
フッ素樹脂の接着面に段差部を形成し、この段差部に接
着剤を流し込むことで、接着部の機械的強度を高めるよ
うにしている。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】ところが、上記公報に
記載された技術では、次のような問題点があった。 (1)フッ素樹脂製品と接着剤との間にほとんど接着力
が生じていないため、接着剤硬化後であっても接着剤と
フッ素樹脂との界面は簡単に剥がれるという問題点があ
った。このため、温度変化による収縮力あるいは外部か
らの応力や振動・衝撃が加わると、フッ素樹脂製品と接
着剤との界面に隙間やガタつきを生じて、気体や液体が
シールされなくなるという問題点があった。
【0005】(2)さらに、同公報の技術は接着物の形
状に制約があり、接着物の一方が他方を挟み込み又は包
囲する形態でなければ適用できないという問題点があっ
た。具体的には、一方が丸パイプ,角パイプ等の部材で
ないと適用できないという制限があった。
【0006】本発明は上記問題点に鑑みてなされたもの
で、フッ素樹脂製品を他の相手物に接着するに際し、接
着界面が剥がれて隙間やガタつきを生じることがなく、
しかも接着物の形状に制約のないフッ素樹脂の接着構造
を提供することを目的としている。

【課題を解決するための手段】上記目的を達成するため
に本発明では、フッ素樹脂と相手物とを接着剤により固
着してなるフッ素樹脂の接着構造において、フッ素樹脂
の接着剤塗布面に孔部もしくは溝部を形成し、この孔部
もしくは溝部の表面にコロナ放電処理を施すこととし
た。

【作用】上記構成からなる本発明のフッ素樹脂の接着構
造では、コロナ放電処理によりフッ素樹脂の表面を改質
して接着力を向上する。すなわち、コロナ放電処理は、
高周波電圧装置で発生した電子をフッ素樹脂表面に衝突
させて、フッ素樹脂表面の原子結合を断ち切り、他の極
性の強い官能基を結合させ、接着力を化学的に向上させ
るように働く。さらに放電粒子(主に電子)の衝突によ
りフッ素樹脂表面に微小な孔を形成し、接着力を物理的
ないし機械的に向上させるように働く。
【0009】以下、添付図面を参照して本発明に係るフ
ッ素樹脂の接着構造の実施例を説明する。なお、図面の
説明において同一の要素には同一符号を付し、重複する
説明を省略する。

【実施例1】まず、本発明の実施例1を説明する。図1
はフッ素樹脂を接着する際の工程図である。図におい
て、符号1は放電電極1で、軸径2mmの丸棒の先端を直
径6mmの球状に形成したもので、コロナ放電装置(図示
せず)に接続されている。2は放電電極1から放電され
たコロナ放電、3はフッ素樹脂の丸棒で、外周には機械
加工により溝部4を形成している。また7は接着剤、8
は金属パイプである。
【0011】次に、本実施例のフッ素樹脂の接着構造を
実験結果に基づいて説明する。まず、フッ素樹脂丸棒3
の接着剤塗布面、特に溝部4の周囲に、コロナ放電処理
を行う。本実施例ではフッ素樹脂丸棒3の表面から2mm
の距離に放電電極1の先端を設置し、丸棒3を回転させ
つつ、80Wの出力にて10分間放電した。なお、符号
6は放電により形成された微小孔を示している。
【0012】次に、接着剤7をフッ素樹脂丸棒3の表面
にへらで均一に塗布し、金属パイプ8に挿入する。接着
剤7の硬化は50℃のオープン内に7時間放置して行っ
た。
【0013】次に、本実施例による溝部4の形状と接着
強度との関係を表1に示す。表1において、θ1 ,θ2
(度)はそれぞれ溝部4とフッ素樹脂丸棒3の表面との
なす角(図2参照)、d(mm)は溝部4の深さを示して
いる。なお、金属パイプ8の材質はSUS403で、内
径は3.99mm、外形は4.00mmである。また、フッ
素樹脂丸棒3の材質はPTFEであり、接着剤7は2液
混合型エポキシ系接着剤で、T−E−KLEBETEC
HNIK社製アゴメットP76(登録商標)のA剤とB
剤とを1対1に混合したものを用いた。

【0015】本実施例によれば、コロナ放電によりPT
FEの接触角を97゜から50゜に改質でき、接着剤の
接着力が大きくなった。更に、予め形成した溝部とコロ
ナ放電により形成された微小孔とに接着剤が侵入し、投
錨効果を生じるので、大きな接着強度と優れたシール効
果が得られた。

【実施例2】次に、本発明の実施例2を説明する。図3
はフッ素樹脂を接着する際の工程図である。図示の通り
この実施例では、フッ素樹脂の板材同士を接着すること
とした。フッ素樹脂板材3a,3bはともにPFAの板
であり、溶融したPFAを成形型に流し込んで形成した
もので、表面には直径3mmの孔部5を4箇所に設けてい
る。
【0017】本実施例ではフッ素樹脂板材3a,3bの
各々の孔部5に対してコロナ放電処理を行った。すなわ
ち、孔部5の底面から2mmの距離の所に放電電極1の先
端を挿入し、80Wの出力にて3分間放電した。なお、
放電電極1は直径1mmの棒状のものを使用した。そし
て、接着剤7をフッ素樹脂板材3a,3bの表面にへら
で均一に塗布し、接着剤7が硬化するまでクリップで固
定した。
【0018】次に、本実施例による孔部5の形状と接着
強度との関係を表2に示す。表2において、θ1 ,θ2
(度)はそれぞれ孔部5とフッ素樹脂板材3a,3bの
表面とのなす角(図4参照)、d(mm)は孔部5の深さ
を示している。なお、フッ素樹脂板材3a,3bの厚さ
は6mm、幅は10mmである。

【0020】本実施例によれば、コロナ放電によりPF
Aの接触角を98゜から49゜に改質でき、接着剤の接
着力が大きくなった。更に、予め形成した孔部とコロナ
放電により形成された微小孔とに接着剤が侵入し、投錨
効果を生じるので、大きな接着強度と優れたシール効果
が得られた。
【0021】なお、本発明は上記実施例に限定されるも
のではなく、例えば、上記実施例ではフッ素樹脂の形状
を丸棒及び板材としたが、任意の形状に対して適用可能
である。またフッ素樹脂としてPTFE及びPFAを用
いたが、他のフッ素樹脂(FEP,PCTFE,PVD
F,ETFE,ECTFE等)にも適用できる。さらに
接着剤としてはエポキシ系以外のシリコン系,アクリル
系等の接着剤も使用可能である。

【発明の効果】以上説明したように本発明によれば、フ
ッ素樹脂の接着剤塗布面に孔部もしくは溝部を形成し、
この孔部もしくは溝部の表面にコロナ放電処理を施した
ので、表面が改質されて化学的に結合力が向上するとと
もに、表面に微小孔を生じて物理的な結合力も向上す
る。したがって、接着界面の強度が高く、シール性も極
めて優れた接着構造を得ることができる。しかも、任意
の形状のフッ素樹脂に適用可能である。

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 【請求項1】 フッ素樹脂と相手物とを接着剤により固
    着してなるフッ素樹脂の接着構造において、フッ素樹脂
    の接着剤塗布面に孔部もしくは溝部を形成し、この孔部
    もしくは溝部の表面にコロナ放電処理を施してなること
    を特徴とするフッ素樹脂の接着構造。
