Abstract

PURPOSE:To prepare a soil conditioner which improves the air passability, water-holding property, and fertilizer-holding property of soil and promotes the growth of crops by compounding a specific fermentation liq. with charcoal. CONSTITUTION:A lactic acid fermentation liq. (e.g. one obtd. by culturing lactic acid bacteria in a culture medium contg. an yeast extract, peptone, and glucose and separating the resulting cells with a centrifuge) is compounded with charcoal pref. in an amt. of 0.01-10wt.%.

2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally widely used agricultural chemicals such as BHC and parathion and various synthetic chemical fertilizers are highly toxic to humans and animals.
It is becoming a social problem as pesticide pollution. Therefore, there are various movements of opposition movements and regulations from the viewpoint of conservation of natural environment and protection of ecosystem. For example, it has been pointed out that such chemical substances may flow into the water sources around the golf course and pollute the water supply, and there are also public movements to reduce the use of pesticides and chemical fertilizers. In addition, cases of dermatitis occurring in golf course caddies and course keeper due to heavy use of chemical fertilizers were reported, and problems such as pesticides and fertilizers used at the time of cultivation being ingested by the human body while attached to the crops were also reported. Is also pointed out. For this reason, there is currently a strong demand for pollution-free fertilizers that do not affect the ecosystem.

By blending such charcoal, the water retention and water permeability of the soil are greatly improved and good drainage is achieved. Further, since charcoal has a large adsorption area, it has a high deodorizing effect and the fermentation odor is reduced. Furthermore, bacteria such as Azotobacter that fix nitrogen are easily settled on charcoal, which is preferable for growing crops. In addition, charcoal is alkaline, has a high soil-improving effect, and absorbs solar heat, thus contributing to an increase in soil temperature and promoting the growth of crops. In addition to the above components, nitrogen, phosphoric acid, potassium and the like may be added to the soil conditioner of the present invention.

The soil improver of the present invention is easy to prepare and improves the air permeability, water retention and fertilizer retention of soil to promote the growth of crops. Further, it can be used not only as a basic fertilizer but also as an additional fertilizer by simply spraying it on the soil even during the growth of crops and turf, and the soil can be easily organized. Furthermore, according to the soil improving agent of the present invention,
Agrochemical-free cultivation that does not contain chemically synthesized components can be performed,
Since it has little impact on the ecosystem, it is suitable for cultivating turf on golf courses and farm crops. Further, it is suitable for turf and the like on a golf course, since it does not impair odor generation and aesthetics.
