1989) ] しかしながら、これらの色素は400ns〜500n1
1の短波長領域においては光吸収性、光反射性を持たず
、高密度記録性に限界があった。
[発明が解決しようとする課題]
本発明は集光ビームをより細く絞り込み、高密度記録可
能な波長300ni〜500nmのレーザを用いた光ピ
ツクアップに適用できる記録媒体を提供することを目的
とする。集光ビームは波長が短くなる程、細く絞ること
ができるので現状の波長800nslこおける記録密度
の2.5倍〜7倍を達成可能にする。

[課題を解決するための手段]
本発明者は、前記課題を解決するため鋭意検討した結果
、記録材料として特定のポリエン化合物を採用すること
が有効であることを知見し、本発明に至った。

すなわち、本発明は、基板上に下記一般式で示されるジ
アリールポリエン化合物を含む薄膜を設けた光情報記録
媒体である。

AI−A2、R+−R2−水素原子の場合の吸収極大波
長を表1に示す。

アニン系染料、テトラヒドロコリン系染料、ジオキサジ
ン系染料、トリフエッチアジン系染料、フェナンスレン
系染料、シアニン(メロシアニン)系染料、ナフトキノ
ン系染料、アントラキノン(インダンスレン)系染料、
キサンチン系染料、本発明の上記色素以外のトリフェニ
ルメタン系染料、クロコニウム系染料、ビリリウム系染
料、アズレン系染料など又は金属、金属化合物例えばI
n、Sn、Te5Bi、Al5Se、TeO2,5nO
2AsSCdなどと混合分散あるいは積層の形態で用い
ることもできる。又、本発明の上記色素は高分子材料例
えばアイオノマー樹脂、ポリアミド系樹脂、ビニル系樹
脂、天然高分子、シリコーン、液状ゴムなどの種々の材
料もしくはシランカップリング剤などの中に混合分散し
て用いてもよいしあるいは特性改良の目的で安定剤(例
えば遷移金属錯体)、分散剤、難燃剤、滑剤、帯電防止
剤、界面活性剤、可塑剤などと一緒に用いることもでき
る。

キサンチン系染料、本発明の上記色素以外のトリフェニ
ルメタン系染料、クロコニウム系染料、ビリリウム系染
料、アズレン系染料など又は金属、金属化合物例えばI
n、Sn、Te5Bi、Al5Se、TeO2,5nO
2AsSCdなどと混合分散あるいは積層の形態で用い
ることもできる。又、本発明の上記色素は高分子材料例
えばアイオノマー樹脂、ポリアミド系樹脂、ビニル系樹
脂、天然高分子、シリコーン、液状ゴムなどの種々の材
料もしくはシランカップリング剤などの中に混合分散し
て用いてもよいしあるいは特性改良の目的で安定剤(例
えば遷移金属錯体)、分散剤、難燃剤、滑剤、帯電防止
剤、界面活性剤、可塑剤などと一緒に用いることもでき
る。
次に図面について本発明による光情報記録媒体の構成を
説明する。

第1図に示すように、本発明の光情報記録媒体は基本的
には基板l上に本発明の色素を含む記録層2を設けたも
のである。又、記録層は光反射層と光吸収層とを任意の
順序で組合せた2層構成とすることもできる。

記録層の形成は蒸着、スパッタリング、CVD又は溶成
塗布などの通常の手段によって行うことができる。塗布
法を用いる場合には本発明の色素などを有機溶媒に溶解
してスプレー ローラーコーティング、ディッピング及
びスピニングなどの慣用のコーティング法によって行わ
れる。有機溶媒としては一般にはメタノール、エタノー
ル、イソプロパツールなどのアルコール類、アセトン、
メチルエチルケトン、シクロヘキサノンなどのケトン類
、N、N−ジメチルホルムアミド、N、N−ジメチルア
セトアミドなどのアミド類、ジメチルスルホキシドなど
のスルホキシド類、テトラヒドロフラン、ジオキサン、
エチレングリコールモノメチルエーテルなどのエーテル
類、酢酸メチル、酢酸エチルなどのエステル類、クロロ
ホルム、塩化メチレン、ジクロルエタン、四塩化炭素、
トリクロルエタンなどの脂肪族ハロゲン化炭化水素類あ
るいはベンゼン、トルエン、キシレン、リグロイン、モ
ノクロルベンゼン、ジクロルベンゼンなどの芳香族類な
どを用いるとかできる。記録層の膜厚は100人〜10
μ膓、好ましくは200 人〜1000人が適当である
。又、記録層は基板側からの反射率が少なくとも15%
であることが記録再生に望ましい。

法を用いる場合には本発明の色素などを有機溶媒に溶解

エチレングリコールモノメチルエーテルなどのエーテル
類、酢酸メチル、酢酸エチルなどのエステル類、クロロ
ホルム、塩化メチレン、ジクロルエタン、四塩化炭素、
トリクロルエタンなどの脂肪族ハロゲン化炭化水素類あ
るいはベンゼン、トルエン、キシレン、リグロイン、モ
ノクロルベンゼン、ジクロルベンゼンなどの芳香族類な
どを用いるとかできる。記録層の膜厚は100人〜10
μ膓、好ましくは200 人〜1000人が適当である

であることが記録再生に望ましい。

基板としてはガラス、ポリエステル、ポリアミド、ポリ
オレフィン、ポリカーボネート、エポキシ、ポリイミド
、ポリメチルメタクリレートなどのプラスチック、金属
、セラミックスが通常使用されるがその他記録媒体に使
用されるものならどれでもよい。

又、第2図ないし第6図に示すように第1図の構成のも
のに更に下引層3及び/又は保護層4及び/又は反射層
5を設けた構成とすることもできる。この際、下引層及
び/又は保護層中には本発明の上記式で表わされる色素
が含有されていてもよい。

下引層3は(a)接着性の向上、(b)水又はガスなど
のバリヤー (e)記録層の保存安定性の向上、(d

)プレグルーブの形成などを目的として使用される。(
a)の目的に対しては前記高分子材料及びシランカップ
リング剤などの種々の物質を用いることができ、(b)
、(e)の目的に対しては上記高分子材料以外に無機
化合物例えばS io2、MgF2、S io、TiO
2、ZnO,Ti N、S i Nなど、金属又は半金
属例えばZn、Cu%5SNiSCr、Ge、Ses
Cds Ags Alなどを用いることができる。(d
)の目的に対しては金属例えばAI、Agなど又は金属
光沢を有する有機薄膜例えばメチン系染料、キサンチン
系染料などを用いることができ、そして (e)、(f
)の目的に対しては紫外線硬化樹脂、熱硬化性樹脂、熱
可塑性樹脂などを用いることができる。下引層の膜厚は
0゜01〜30μ調好ましくは0.05〜lOμ園が適
当である。又、保護層4はキズ、ホコリ、汚れなどから
の保護及び記録層の化学的安定性の向上を目的として設
けられ、その材料としては下引層と同じ材料を使用する
ことができる。保護層の膜厚は0.1μ厘以上好ましく
は50μm以上が適当である。

当である。又、保護層4はキズ、ホコリ、汚れなどから
の保護及び記録層の化学的安定性の向上を目的として設
けられ、その材料としては下引層と同じ材料を使用する
ことができる。保護層の膜厚は0.1μ厘以上好ましく
は50μm以上が適当である。
更に、本発明による光情報記録媒体の別の構成としては
、第1図ないし第4図に示した同一構成の2枚の記録媒
体(場合によりその1枚を基板のみとして)を用い記録
層2を内側に配置して密封したいわゆるエアーサンドイ
ッチ構造にしてもよいし、保護層4を介して接着したい
わゆる密着サンドイッチ構造(貼り合せ構造)にしても
よい。
、第1図ないし第4図に示した同一構成の2枚の記録媒
体(場合によりその1枚を基板のみとして)を用い記録
層2を内側に配置して密封したいわゆるエアーサンドイ
ッチ構造にしてもよいし、保護層4を介して接着したい
わゆる密着サンドイッチ構造(貼り合せ構造)にしても
よい。
情報の記録はレーザ光をレンズにより集光し記録層上に
微細な穴(ビット)を形成することによりなされ、読出
しは微弱なレーザ光を照射しビット部とそれ以外の部分
の反射率の差を利用して行うことができる。

なお、レーザ光源として波長750〜850nmの半導
体レーザの二次高調波を用いると装置の小型化が可能と
なる。

[実施例]
以下に比較例と共に実施例を掲げて本発明を更に説明す
るが本発明はこれに限定されるものではない。

ン溶液をスピンナで塗布し乾燥させて膜厚0.05μ閣
の記録層を得た。反射率は458nmで20%あり、A

[発明の効果]
以上説明したように、本発明の光情報記録媒体は、記録
層に特定のポリエン化合物を含有することにより波長4
000層〜500n鰯付近での光吸収能力が極めて大き
く、log(分子吸収光係数)は5.0前後を示すもの
が多い。そのために波長400ns〜500ns付近の
レーザ光に対する記録性にすぐれており、高密度記録が
可能である。
層に特定のポリエン化合物を含有することにより波長4
000層〜500n鰯付近での光吸収能力が極めて大き
く、log(分子吸収光係数)は5.0前後を示すもの
が多い。そのために波長400ns〜500ns付近の
レーザ光に対する記録性にすぐれており、高密度記録が
可能である。
