Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 本発明は、合成樹脂部材の溶着方法に係るもの
で、さらに詳しくは、一方の管状部材の内部に他
方の部材を挿入し複数個の超音波振動ホーンにて
一度に超音波振動溶着する合成樹脂部材の溶着方
法に関するものである。
従来、二つの合成樹脂部材を治具と工具ホーン
との間に設置し、工具ホーンより超音波振動を印
加して接触面を溶着してなる合成樹脂部材の超音
波溶着方法はほとんどの熱可塑性合成樹脂に適用
できることから広く使用されている。
しかしながら、超音波振動溶着方法にあつては
重ね合わせた部材の加圧接触された特定部分に強
い応力が集中し、この応力の集中した部分が超音
波振動にて内部発熱し溶融することから、一方の
管状部材の内部に他の部材を挿入し、該挿入して
重なり合つた周面を溶着するには欠点を生じるも
のであつた。即ち、第5図に示すように超音波を
印加する工具ホーン27側の両部材の接触面Aは
加圧接触して比較的強い応力が集中し内部発熱が
良好に行なわれるが、工具ホーン27より遠い部
分である治具23側の接触面Bは加圧接触されに
くく内部発熱が良好に行なわれない。さらに被溶
着部材である管状部材が軟質の場合超音波振動が
治具23側の接触面Bまで有効に作用せず充分な
溶着強度が得られなかつた。
そこで、充分な接合強度を得るために、両部材
を回転させ、数度に分けて、超音波を印加させる
という方法が採られている。しかし、この方法で
あれば、超音波を数回に分けて印加せねばならず
工程数が増え、作業性がすこぶる悪いという欠点
があり、又そればかりではなく、溶着された面と
されない面との境界Cに於いて、再度超音波を印
加しても、溶着強度に劣るという欠点を有してい
る。
本発明は上記の欠点を解消するものであり、以
下に本発明の一実施例として、血圧測定に使用さ
れるマンセツターの吸排気用管体の溶着方法を説
明する。
1は軟質ポリ塩化ビニルをブロー成形してなる
マンセツターであり、1aは空気収容室である。
そしてマンセツター1の吸排気用管体は薄肉の大
口径管状部材2と厚肉の小口径管状部材3とを溶
着して構成される。
まず一方の比較的柔い大口径管状部材2の内部
に他方の小口径管状部材3を挿入し、その二つの
管状部材が重なり合つた部分を被着部11とす
る。次に該被着部11の外周面12を二つの工具
ホーン7a,7bで押さえ、工具ホーン7a,7
bと大口径管状部材2との間に圧力を有するよう
に二つの工具ホーン7a,7bで管状部材を包囲
する。二つの工具ホーン7a,7bは、若干の間
隙を有しており、工具ホーン7a,7b同志が接
触しないように配置する、次いで、それぞれの高
周波発振機4にて、電気的振動を発生させ、その
電気的振動を振動子5にて機械的振動に変え、振
動子5に連接されている固定ホーン6にて、前記
機械的振動を増巾させる。増巾された機械的振動
は、工具ホーン7a,7bにて接合される管状部
材の材質あるいは肉厚に適した振動に変換され、
この振動により被着部11の全周面を加熱溶着す
る。この振動の振動数は、管状部材により異なる
が、20KHz前後の超音波域の振動を使用するもの
とする。溶着完了後、該工具ホーンを脱着して、
本発明の溶着方法を完了する。
工具ホーン7a,7bの形状は、特に限定する
ものではないが、発明者の実験によれば、二つの
工具ホーン7a,7bの分割P1の位置は、管状
部材の径の中心P2より若干、分割の方向へ偏心
させたほうが、均一な溶着強度が得られることが
わかつた。
被溶着部材の材質は合成樹脂である以外特に限
定されるものではないが、特に本発明においては
超音波振動を内部に吸収しやすい、即ち溶着が一
般的に困難な比較的軟質の低密度ポリエチレン、
軟質ポリ塩化ビニル、半硬質ポリ塩化ビニル及び
ポリエステル系エラストマー、ポリウレタン系エ
ラストマー、EPDM等の各種エラストマー的性
質を有する合成樹脂を溶着するのに好適である。
なお、エラストマー的性質とはシヨアA30〜99
(ASTM,D−2240)の硬度のものをいう。
被溶着部材の形状は、一方が中空体、筒体等の
管状であればよく、他部材は実施例のように管状
でなくともよく、中実状、棒状の形状であつても
よい。
工具ホーンの数は、上記実施例では、2個であ
るが、2個に限定されることなく、例へば、第4
図に示す如く、4個の工具ホーン17a,17
b,17c,17dにしてもよく、あるいはそれ
以上というように2個以上の複数個であればよ
い。又高周波発振機の数も工具ホーンの数に応じ
て設ける必要はなく、例へば一つの高周波発振機
より電気的振動を各振動子に与えるという機構も
可能である。
本発明の溶着方法によれば、複数個の工具ホー
ンから超音波振動が一度に与えられるので、従来
この種の超音波溶着方法に必要であつた数度に分
けて両部材を回転させて溶着するという複数の接
合工程を一度にできるという利点を有するばかり
でなく、溶着強度も従来のように数度に分けた溶
着の部分と他の溶着の部分の境界において溶着強
度の劣化が生じることもなく全周面均一に溶着す
ることができる。

  1. 1 管状合成樹脂部材の内部に他の部材を挿入
    し、両部材が重なり合つた部分の周面を複数個の
    ホーンで包囲し、該ホーンに超音波振動を加えて
    両部材を溶着することを特徴とする合成樹脂部材
    の溶着方法。
