Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 この発明は環状溝を有する軸の外周に、上記環
状溝を利用し、固定リングで軸受に軸方向の元応
力を加えて軸受を固定した軸受組立体に関する。
環状溝を有する軸の外周にころがり軸受と円筒
形の固定リングを軸受向に並べて嵌め、固定リン
グの軸受に向いていない端部が小径となるように
固定リングを円錐形の変形し、上記小径になつた
端部を軸の外周の環状溝に押込んで軸受を軸方向
に固定することは西ドイツ特許公告第2204831号
(日本特開昭48−84238号公報)により公知であ
る。
上記従来例では軸受の内輪と接触する固定リン
グの一端面は、該リングが円錐形に変形すること
により斜めになり、軸受の内輪の丸みを帯びた角
(かど)に小さな面積でしか接触しなくなるので、
固定リングを円錐形に変形させる前に軸受の内輪
に向かつて押付け、軸受の転動体に軸方向の元応
力を加えるにしても大きな元応力を加えることは
できないと共に、運転中に生じる反対の方向の軸
方向力で固定リングは塑性変形し、加えて置いた
元応力は消え、軸受は軸方向に動けるようになつ
て故障の原因になることがある。又、固定リング
が薄肉であると、運転中に軸受から受ける力でリ
ングは曲がり、固定が弛む危険がある。この現象
は回転が高速で、遠心力が大きい場合にも生じ
る。
そこで本発明は軸受を大きな面で支えることに
より大きな元応力を軸受に加えることを可能にす
ると共に、軸受を確実且つ正確に固定した軸受組
立体に関するもので、環状溝17を有する軸10
の外周に軸方向に並んで嵌つた一対の内輪要素
3,4からなる内輪5と、上記対の内輪要素の外
に嵌合した外輪1と、上記外輪と各内輪要素の間
の環状空間に配置された二列転動体8,8と、前
記軸に嵌められ、内輪の一方の端面を軸方向に加
圧して前記転動体に元応力を加える固定リング1
4とからなり、上記固定リング14は一端部に内
輪の一方の端面と当接する半径方向外向きに突出
した鍔部15と、上記鍔部から他端に向かつて延
び、その外周の全周か、少なくとも円周方向に離
れた複数の個所を半径方向内向きにプレスされ、
前記軸の環状溝17に押込まれた筒部とを備え、
且つ該固定リングは前記軸の外径よりも直径が小
さい内周19を有し、この内周で軸の外周にプレ
ス嵌めしたのである。
以下、本発明の図示の実施例を説明する。
第1図、第2図、両図に示した車輪軸受は車台
に固定するための半径方向外向きのフランジ2を
有する外輪1と、二つの内輪要素3,4から成る
内輪5と、外輪1と両内輪要素3,4の間に2列
に配置され、保持器6と7とで導かれる玉8から
成る。内輪要素3と4は等速継手11の外筒であ
る軸10の外周面9上に押し嵌めてあり、内輪の
一端、つまり内輪要素3の左端面は軸10の肩1
2に接している。この軸である外筒も図示してい
にない車輪リムを固定するため半径方向外向きの
フランジ13を備えている。内輪を軸10上に固
定するのにL形断面の固定リング14を用いる。
固定リングの一端部には半径方向外向きの環状を
した鍔部15があり、この鍔部を内輪要素4の右
端面に当接する。そして、固定リング14の他端
側の軸方向の筒部16を内向きに変形して等速継
手11の外筒である軸10の外周面9に設けた
ほゞ三角形の断面形状を有する環状溝17の中に
押込み、この環状溝17の側面18に軸方向に支
持させる。
第1図には変形前の固定リングの断面形状を示
してあるが、この固定リング14の筒部16を円
周方向に間隔を保つて数個所で半径方向または概
ね半径方向に作用する工具により環状溝17の中
へ成形する。軸方向の筒部16の変形前と、変形
時に半径方向の鍔部15に軸方向力を加え、これ
で内輪要素3と4、および転動体列に互いに元応
力を与える。尚、固定リング14の内周19の直
径を軸10の外周9の外径より僅かに小さくして
置き、組立ての際に固定リング14を予熱して軸
に嵌める。これにより冷却すると追加の締りばめ
が生じ、それが固定リング14の変形した筒部1
6の保持効果を強める。
第2図の実施例は上記したように予熱して軸に
嵌めた固定リング14の筒部16の全周を環状溝
17の中に変形する。次にこの変形した筒部16
の上に保持リング20を押し被せる。この保持リ
ング20は内周にねじ21を有し、軸10に設け
た延長部の外周のねじ22にねじ込むのである。
この保持リング20は固定リングに向いた端部内
周に円錐面23を有し、この円錐面で筒部16の
円錐形に変形した外面をおおい、変形部が変形す
るのを防止する。ねじ込んで締付けたこの保持リ
ング20は、そのほか等速継手11を密閉する蛇
腹形シール24を固定する役目もする。
以上のように本発明で使用する固定リングは半
径方向外向きに突出した環状の鍔部を有し、この
鍔部で内輪に当接するため、内輪との接触面積は
大であり、工具で固定リングを軸受に向かつて押
し、鍔部で所望の大きな軸方向の元応力を加える
ことができる。又、この鍔部は固定リングを補強
し、固定リングが高い荷重を受けて曲がるのを防
止するので固定が弛まない。
更に、固定リングの内周の直径は軸の外径より
少し小さいので、軸に嵌めると軸との間に締り嵌
めが生じ、これによつて伝えられる軸方向の力の
少なくとも一部をこの締り嵌めで受けて対向する
ので正確な位置を保持することができる。

第1図は自動車の従動輪用の軸受を固定した本
発明の一実施例の断面図、第2図は同じく本発明
の他の一実施例の断面図で、図中、1は軸受の外
輪、3と4は内輪要素、5は内輪、8は転動体、
10は軸(等速継手の外筒)、14は固定リング、
15はその鍔部、16は同じく筒部、17は環状
溝を示す。

Claims (1)

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 1 環状溝17を有する軸10の外周に軸方向に
    並んで嵌つた一対の内輪要素3,4からなる内輪
    5と、上記対の内輪要素の外に嵌合した外輪1
    と、上記外輪と各内輪要素の間の環状空間に配置
    された二列の転動体8,8と、前記軸に嵌めら
    れ、内輪の一方の端面を軸方向に加圧して前記転
    動体に元応力を加える固定リング14とからな
    り、上記固定リング14は一端部に内輪の一方の
    端面と当接する半径方向外向きに突出した鍔部1
    5と、上記鍔部から他端に向かつて延び、その外
    周の全周か、少なくとも円周方向に離れた複数の
    個所を半径方向内向きにプレスされ、前記軸の環
    状溝17に押込まれた筒部とを備え、且つ該固定
    リングは前記軸の外径よりも直径が小さい内周1
    9を有し、この内周で軸の外周にプレス嵌めした
    ことを特徴とする軸受組立体。
