Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 産業上の利用分野 本発明は、湿式化学的に金属層を析出すること
によつて基材を金属化する方法に関する。ここで
湿式化学とは、物質又は化合物を基材より析出す
る場合、析出すべき物質が基材に接触する(又は
基材をおおう)液体中で化学的に溶解している
(つまり、例えば懸濁液を形成しない)ことを意
味する。
従来の技術 金属性又は非金属性の基質材料は、種々の使用
ケースに対してその性質を改良するために金属層
を設ける。特に経済的な方法は、電鍍による金属
析出である。これは、一般に金属性基材に清浄工
程後直後に行い、非金属性−つまり電流を導かな
いか又は不十分に導く−表面に対しては、多くは
化学的予金属化後に行うことができる。この電鍍
によつて設けた金属層は、更に加工する場合又は
実際に使用する場合には多くの種々の作用、例え
ば熱負荷に耐えてその性質、例えば基材への付着
強度を許容できない様に変えてはならない。殊に
層の付着は熱作用の場合に屡々著しい負荷を蒙む
る。この負荷は、金属層を基材との異なる熱膨張
係数に基づく機械的応力により、並びに金属層と
基材との化学的変化によつて生じ得る。電鍍によ
る金属析出の場合におは、或る程度大量の水素並
びに一般に種々の有機浴添加物が金属析出物で一
緒に蓄積し、殊に多孔性基材の場合には一緒に取
込まれる。かかる金属層の熱処理に応じて、蓄積
異物者は分離、蒸発又は分解によつて大きいガス
圧を惹起し、このガス圧は被膜を破かいしない
で、例えば金属層に浸出して分解するか、又は基
材から金属層を或る程度大きい面で分離する。一
般にかかる金属層は多数の気泡を示し、これは付
着強度が減少するにつれて大きくかつ多くなる。
電鍍によつて非金属性基材上に析出した金属層
の付着強度は、少なくとも例えばはんだ付け工程
による熱負荷の際に気泡生成を避けるためには不
十分である。それ故このような負荷を受ける金属
層の製造のためには、大抵、装置に費用がかかり
かつあまり経済的でない方法、例えば真空蒸着
法、陰極スパツタリング法又はCVD法が該当す
るのに過ぎない。
発明が解決しようとする問題点 それ故、本発明の目的はこの種の方法を殊に軟
性−又は硬性はんだ付け工程に生じる熱負荷の際
に、析出金属層のできるだけ大きい付着強度を得
ることによつて改良することである。
問題が解決するための手段 この目的は、湿式化学的に金属層を析出する工
程で金属層と基材との間に生じた液状並びにガス
状の包含物の漏出を次の熱処理工程において可能
にするための、基材を金属化する方法において、
金属層を基材上に析出させ、その後、網目スクリ
ーンを使用したフオトエツチングによつて該金属
層に基材にまで達する孔を設けることを特徴とす
る前記方法によつて解決される。
本発明の有利な実施態様は、特許請求の範囲第
2項以下に記載してある。
本発明はコスト上好ましい方法で金属層に次の
熱処理で妨害となる液体及び/又はガスの残渣を
金属層と基材との間の境界層から散乱させる孔を
設けることができるという認識に基づく。続く熱
負荷、例えば温度約280℃及び時間約20秒間での
軟性ははんだ付け工程又は温度約400℃及び時間
約10秒間での硬性はんだ付け工程の場合に、金属
層の妨害となる気泡はもはや生じない。
実施例 例 1 大きさ50.8×50.8×0.6mm2の酸化アルミニウムセ
ラミツク基材(Al2O3、99.5%)を、NaOH溶液
中に公知方法で浸漬してガラス状“焼成皮膜”を
除去し、超音波励起で脱塩水で慎重に洗浄する。
続いて塩化錫()の塩酸溶液、水及び塩化パラ
ジウムの塩酸溶液で処理し、最後に水で洗浄した
後に、公知方法によつて化学的金属析出のために
接触作用性核層を、セラミツク表面に設ける。こ
の上に、市場で得られる化学的銅浴から厚さ約
0.2μmの銅基質層を析出させ、続いてこれを市場
で得られる硫酸銅浴から厚さ約15μmの光沢性銅
層で補強する。公知フオトエツチング法を用い
て、銅層の長方形の試験面20×30mm2上に、間隔1
mmを有する点網目スクリーンの直径50μmの孔ぐ
りをスプレー腐蝕よつて設ける。例えば環状横断
面を有するこの孔ぐりは、金属層に十分に貫通
し、基材によつて境をなす。フオトレジスト層を
除去した後に、セラミツク試料を熱処理して、温
度430℃並びに窒素雰囲気で10分間施こす。室温
(20℃)に冷却後、銅層の試験で20×30mm2以外の
大きいこの試験面は多くの大きい気泡が一面にお
おわれていることが立証される。フオトエツチン
グ法によつて設けた巾1mmの銅ストライプによる
試験面の孔をあけた層帯域のはく脱力の測定は、
大きい分離力約0.5Nを示す。銅層の残りの孔を
あけなかつた帯域では、金属層の析出の際に含ま
れた液体及び/又はガスの残渣の散乱は行われな
いので、そこでは金属層の部分的はく離が生じる
(気泡生成)。
例 2 酸化アルミニウムセラミツク基材を例1のよう
にして予処理し、接触作用性核層を設ける。この
層上に市場で得られる化学的次亜燐酸ニツケル浴
から厚さ約0.1μmのニツケル/燐酸層を析出さ
せ、これを慎重に洗浄し、乾燥する。フオトエツ
チング法によつて、ニツケル/燐酸層で直径約
100μmのフオトレジスト点を、網目スクリーン
の間隔2mmで試験面20×30mm2上に設ける。続いて
市場で得られる電鍍硫酸銅浴中で厚さ約10μmの
銅層で補強する。フオトレジスト点を除去し、慎
重に洗浄し、乾燥した後に、この層に例1のよう
にして熱処理を430℃で施こす。続く金属層の試
験で、この層は、孔の網目スクリーンを有する試
験面の外で、多くの小さい気泡によつて一面にお
おわれていることが立証される。フオトエツチン
グ法で設けた層ストライプの孔をあけた層帯域の
はく脱力の測定は、極めて十分な付着強度約
0.7N/mmを示す。

Claims (1)

  1. 【特許請求の範囲】 1 湿式化学的に金属層を析出する工程で金属層
    と基材との間に生じた液状並びにガス状の包含物
    の漏出を次の熱処理工程において可能にするため
    の、基材を金属化する方法において、金属層を基
    材上に析出させ、その後、網目スクリーンを使用
    したフオトエツチングによつて該金属層に基材に
    まで達する孔を設けることを特徴とする基材を金
    属化する方法。 2 網目スクリーンの間隔が2mmである特許請求
    の範囲第1項記載の方法。 3 網目スクリーンの間隔が1mmである特許請求
    の範囲第1項記載の方法。 4 基材として、セラミツク材料又は珪酸材料を
    使用する、特許請求の範囲第1項から第3項まで
    のいずれか1項記載の方法。
