Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 [産業上の利用分野] 本発明は熱可塑性合成樹脂製管の突き合わせ融着接合(
以下バット接合ともいう)に関し、詳細には接合継手部
分が正確に芯出しく接合する管の軸芯が合致することを
いう)され、且つ接合部が平滑に形成される融着接合構
造であり、さらに該構造からなる継手を簡単な作業によ
って安定して形成することのできる融着接合方法に関す
るものである。
[従来の技術] ポリブテン樹脂管や塩化ビニル樹脂管等の熱可塑性合成
樹脂製管(以下単に管という)をバット接合するに際し
ては、該管の端面を軟化溶融させる為の加熱装置が使わ
れている。該加熱装置はセラミックス製加熱板の間に電
熱コイルを埋設し、該加熱板の表面に管の端面を当接し
て該管端面を軟化溶融する装置である。尚該加熱板は向
かい合う2つの管の間に介挿され、同時に2つの端面を
溶融することができる様に構成され、さらに該加熱板の
表面はテフロン樹脂加工が施されて溶融した樹脂の付着
を防止できる様に工夫されている。
前記加熱装置によるバット接合方法においては、まず管
の端面同士を向かい合せて配置し、両管端面の間に前記
加熱装置を挟み込む。そして電熱コイルに通電して管端
面を軟化溶融し、軟化溶融されたところで上記加熱装置
を取り去り、両管端面同士を突き合わせて当接し、管同
士を押圧しつつ該溶融部分が冷却硬化するのを待つ。硬
化が完了したところで押圧力を解除し、バット接合作業
を完了する。
[発明が解決しようとする課題] 上記のバット接合方法において第1の大きな問題として
は、管の芯出しが正確に行なえないということが挙げら
れる。即ち溶融させた管端同士を押圧しながら突き合わ
せる作業は作業者の手作業によって行なわれるのが一般
的であり、管の芯出しは作業者の勘に頼ることになり、
また押圧させている間に少しずつ接合面で折り曲がりは
じめ、折り曲がった状態で固着が完了することもあり、
安定した正確な芯出しは困難と考えられる。尚50mm
す程度までの小口径管では芯出し用の治具が使用される
こともあるが、50mmす以上の大口径管の融着接合に
おいては、治具自体が大きくなるため、上記の手作業に
よることがほとんどである。
また管同士を押圧する力も作業の度毎に変化するため、
融着接合状態が不均一であり、融着接合が不完全となっ
たり、或は押圧力が強すぎたために溶融樹脂が管の内外
へ多量にあふれ出すこともある。管の外周側にあふれ出
た溶融樹脂は後に研削して取り除くことができるが、管
の内周側にはみ出たものは取り除くことが困難であり、
内部流体の流通障害物を残した状態のままとなってしま
う。
さらに第2の問題として加熱装置による管端溶融にばら
つきが生じる点がある。該加熱装置の発熱温度はサーモ
スタット等を使って一定に保つ様に構成されているが、
管端部の溶融状態の把握は作業者に頼っているため、溶
融が不十分な場合には融着不良を引き起こし、また溶融
が過剰な場合には前述のあふれ出しが多くなるという不
都合があった。上記2つの問題を含む融着接合方法によ
り形成された融着接合構造においては、上述の如く芯出
しが不正確であったり、或は接合不良や多量の樹脂はみ
出し等が生じることとなっていた。
そこで本発明者らは、芯出しが正確に行なわれ、且つ接
合部内外面が平滑である様な融着接合構造を提供すると
共に、またバット接合作業を簡単且つ安定して行なうこ
とのできる融着接合方法を提供する目的で種々研究を重
ね、本発明を完成した。
[課題を解決するための手段] 上記の目的を達成し得た本発明の融着接合構造は、加熱
コイルを埋設した熱可塑性合成樹脂環体が管の端面間に
介設されると共に、該環体の介設部を含む管内面側には
非熱軟化性筒体が添挿されてなることを要旨とするもの
である。
さらに本発明の融着接合方法は、管端の外周に着脱自在
なフランジ付接合治具を夫々取付け、多管の端面間には
加熱コイルを埋設した熱可塑性合成樹脂環体を挟持する
と共に、該環体を含む管内面側に非熱軟化性筒体を添挿
し、さらに上記フランジ同士を締結具によって近接方向
に締付け、前記加熱コイルに通電して前記環体及び両管
端面を融着することを要旨とするものである。
[作用及び実施例] 第1図は本発明の融着接合方法における接合直前状態を
示す断面説明図、第2図は第1図のII −■線断面矢
視図、第3図は融着接合後の接合構造を示す断面説明図
である。以下融着接合方法を順を追って説明する。
■まず管1の端部外側に半割形状のフランジ付接合治具
10を組み付ける。第4図は該接合治具10の1つ(第
1図の左下部の接1合治具に相当する)を示す斜視説明
図であり、該接合治具10は座部12及びフランジ部1
7が一体的に形成され、座部12には螺旋孔13が形成
されると共に、フランジ部17にも螺旋孔14が形成さ
れる。またフランジ部17の内周壁には周方向に連続す
る凹凸溝11が形成され、管1を2つの接合治具10,
10によって挟持したとき、管軸方向に滑らない様に構
成される。即ち第2図に示す如く管1は上下2つの接合
治具10.10をボルト18.18によって接合して把
持される。
■次いで一方の管1の内部に円筒状の筒体5の一方端を
嵌挿し、ざらに該筒体5の外側に第5図に示す環体2を
挿入し、そして残るもう一方の管1を筒体5の他端に嵌
挿する。筒体5はステンレス鋼や熱硬化性樹脂等、高耐
食性を有するのは勿論、300℃前後の加熱に対しても
溶融しない材料によって形成され、且つ肉厚が薄くても
高強度を発揮し得るものが用いられる。該筒体5の外径
は管1の内径とほぼ同一に形成され、筒体5を嵌挿した
とき、対面する管1.1は正確に芯出しされる。
また環体2は管1と同材料又は管1との接着融合性の高
い熱可塑性合成樹脂材4によって、中心孔を設けた円板
状に成形され、その内部には渦巻状の加熱コイル3が埋
設される。該加熱コイル3の両端はリード線3aとして
環体2外へ延設され、該リード線3aの端部には接続タ
ーミナル3bが設けられる。尚該加熱コイル3及びリー
ド線3aは短絡防止のため熱硬化性樹脂によって被覆さ
れる。
■この状態で接合治具10同士の周方向角度を合わせ、
抑圧スプリング16を嵌入したボルト15を一方のフラ
ンジ部17に貫通すると共に、もう一方におけるフラン
ジ部17の螺旋孔14に螺合される。即ち第1図の例に
おいて左側に示す接続治具10Lには螺旋孔14が形成
され、右側の接続治具10Rは単にボルト15貫通孔が
設けられているだけであり、接続治具10L、IORは
前記押圧スプリング16によって互いに近接する方向に
付勢される。
■そして接続ターミナル3b、3bを電源に接続し、環
体2を加熱しくポリブテン樹脂製管及びポリブテン樹脂
製環体を使ったときには約270℃まで加熱する)、熱
可塑性樹脂材4及び端面Ia、laを溶融し、その後加
熱コイル3への通電を中止し、溶融部分が硬化したとこ
ろで接合を完了する。前記溶融が開始されると管1,1
同士は近接する方向に若干8動するが、この8動は周方
向に均一であり、管1,1の軸芯同士がずれることはな
い。なぜなら管は接合治具10L。
10Rに把持され、かつ該接合治具はボルト15によっ
て周方向の動きが規制されているからである。
■融着接合が完了した後、接合治具10を取り外すと第
3図に示す融着接合構造が完成される。
この構造においては管1.1の接合部内側には筒体5が
残されるので筒体5はできる限り薄い物が良い。尚この
筒体は環体2の溶融によって環体2に付着するので、管
1内を8動することはない。
一方環の内側は樹脂のはみ出し痕6はまったく形成され
ず、平滑な流体通路が確保できる。尚前記加熱コイルは
樹脂内に埋没したままであっても不都合はなく、リード
線3aは図の如く切断してしまう。
上記の■〜■の順序で行なわれる融着接合方法において
は、管同士の押圧及び芯出しが機械的に行なわれるので
、押圧力の不拘−及び芯出しの狂いは極力抑制される。
また上記接合方法は直管同士の接合に限られず、直管と
曲管、曲管と曲管であっても適用でき、また接合姿勢も
区側の水平方向だけに限られず、垂直方向や斜め方向の
姿勢でも可能である。
[発明の効果] 本発明の融着接合構造は、正確に芯出しされ、且つ管接
合部の周面は平滑に仕上げられる。
また本発明の融着接合方法は、簡単であるにもかかわら
ずバット接合作業が安定して行なわれる様になり、上記
構造の継手を少ない不良品発生率で形成することができ
る。

Claims (2)

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. (1)熱可塑性合成樹脂製管の対面する管端同士の融着
    接合構造であって、前記管の端面間には加熱コイルを埋
    設した熱可塑性合成樹脂環体が介設されると共に、該環
    体の介設部を含む管内面側には非熱軟化性筒体が添挿さ
    れてなることを特徴とする熱可塑性合成樹脂製管の融着
    接合構造。
  2. (2)熱可塑性合成樹脂製管の管端同士を融着接合する
    方法において、前記管端の外周に着脱自在なフランジ付
    接合治具を夫々取付け、上記各管の端面間には加熱コイ
    ルを埋設した熱可塑性合成樹脂環体を挟持すると共に、
    該環体を含む管内面側に非熱軟化性筒体を添挿し、さら
    に上記フランジ同士を締結具によって近接方向に締付け
    、前記加熱コイルに通電して前記環体及び両管端面を融
    着することを特徴とする熱可塑性合成樹脂製管の融着接
    合方法。
