Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 〔産業上の利用分野〕 本発明は、内燃機関のピストン、シリンダヘッド等のエ
ンジン部品に関する。
〔従来の技術及びその問題点〕
従来、内燃機関のピストン、シリンダヘッド等のエンジ
ン部品の断熱材としては、窒化ケイ素、ジルコニア、ム
ライト、チタン酸アルミ等のソリッド状のセラミックス
が用いられている。
これらのセラミックス材は強度的には十分強いものであ
るが、熱伝導率が大きいためにエンジンの吸入効率の低
下をきたすという問題があつ念。
他方、熱伝導率の小さいセラミックス材としては、例え
ば発泡セラミックスあるいはセラミックス繊維の積層体
等があるが、これらのセラミックス材は強度が数10ψ
’011”程度と小さく、燃料燃焼時の爆発圧力には耐
えられない。
これらを改良したものとして、金属アルコキシドを原料
とするコーティング剤を結合剤として無機質繊維材料、
中空体を添加し念断熱材があるが、これを製造するには
焼成前の乾燥に長時間を要するという欠点があつ九。
〔発明の構成] 本発明は上記従来技術の欠点を改善するためになされた
ものであって、 (1)  無機質コーティング剤 (2)無機質コーティング剤の固形分100重量部に対
して、5〜40重量部のチタン酸カリウム繊維、10〜
50重量部の窒化ケイ素ウィスカ及び/又に0〜15重
量部のグラスバルン 及び (3)更に硬化促進剤として、前記(2)のチタン酸カ
リウム繊維、窒化ケイ素ウィスカ、グラスバルンの1〜
10重量係重量化カルシウム(OaO) ′t−混合し、乾燥・焼成してなるピストン、シリンダ
ヘッド等の内燃機関のエンジン部品であって、硬化促進
剤としてOaOf添加することにより乾燥時間の短縮を
はかったものである。
本発明において、無機質コーティング剤としては一般に
市販されているものを使用できる。
実施例1 クリ力、チタニアを主成分とする無機質コーティング剤
(日本合成ゴム(株)製グジスヵE1101)の固形分
100重量部に対し、チタン酸カリウム繊維15重量部
、窒化ケイ素ウィスカー20重量部、ガラス中空体5重
量部を混合し、混線機で十分に攪拌混練する。この混線
物に対し、CL8重量部の酸化カルシウムを混合し、更
に十分に混練した後、所定の形状の密閉された型内に加
圧しながら注入しな。
注入後約3時間椙でスラリーの硬化が始まったので、内
型を取り出し、蓋をして密閉し、そのま\の状態で乾燥
せしめ念。
この際密閉しないで乾燥した場合、大気に直接触れる部
分とそうでない部分とで乾燥条件が異なるため変形ある
いに割れを生ずる場合がある。
ついで12時間以上密閉状態で乾燥し、得られた成形体
を1100℃で50分間焼成し、断熱材を得念。
該断熱材の熱伝導率t@ t 5 KCatAn、 h
、 ℃、圧縮強度560 kg/cyn”以上であった
本発明において、チタン酸カリウム繊維及び窒化ケイ素
ウィスカの添加量が夫々無機質の固形分100重量部当
り5重量部及び10重量部以下の場合には所定の熱伝導
率が得られず、ま九40重量部及び50重量部以上の場
合には所定の強度のものが得られない。また、グラスバ
ルンを15重量部以上添加する場合も同様である。

Claims (1)

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 1、無機質コーティング剤、該無機質コーティング剤の
    固形分100重量部に対し5〜40重量部のチタン酸カ
    リウム繊維、10〜50重量部の窒化ケイ素ウィスカ及
    び/又は0〜15重量部のグラスバルンを混合し、更に
    無機質コーティング剤以外の成分の1〜10重量%のC
    aOを添加混合したものを乾燥焼成してなるピストン、
    シリンダヘッド等の内燃機関のエンジン部品。
