ここで、Eは起電力、Rは気体定数、Tは温度(K)、Fはファラデー定数、P1は試料極12の水素ポテンシャルに相当する水素分圧、P2は標準極14の水素ポテンシャルに相当する水素分圧である。この方法によれば、試料1中の水素をほとんど消費せずに水素濃度を測定することができる。標準極14と試料極12との間の電位差を測定するための回路を高抵抗にしておけば、電位差の測定中に回路に電流が流れることにより試料1中の水素が消費されるのを更に抑えることができる。なお、この式における温度Tは、水素センサ10の温度であり、厳密には上述した標準極14の水素供給手段の温度とは異なるので、標準極14の温度を測定する手段に加えて、又は代えて、水素センサ10又は試料の温度を測定する手段を設けてもよい。
Claims (12)
- 測定対象の試料を保持するための容器と、
前記容器の内部に前記試料を吸引するための吸引部と、
前記試料に含まれる水素の濃度を検知するための検知部と、
を備え、
前記検知部は、
前記容器の内部に保持された前記試料に含まれる水素を一次側の表面から二次側の表面に透過する試料極と、
前記試料極の二次側の表面に接触する試料極側電解質と、
所定の濃度の水素を含む標準試料に接触する標準試料側電解質と前記試料極側電解質とを、それらの間で化学種が移動しない態様で電気的に接続するリード線と、
を備える
水素センサ。 - 前記試料に含まれる水素が前記容器の外部に漏出するのを抑えるための水素漏出抑制部を備え、
前記水素漏出抑制部は、水素が透過困難な材質からなり、前記容器の少なくとも前記試料が保持される部分を覆うように設けられる請求項1に記載の水素センサ。 - 前記検知部は、
前記容器の内部に保持された前記試料に含まれる水素を一次側の表面から二次側の表面に透過する試料極と、
所定の濃度の水素を含む標準試料に接触する標準極と、
前記試料極の二次側の表面及び前記標準極に接触する電解質と、
を備える請求項1又は2に記載の水素センサ。 - 前記試料極の表面に、水素を透過し、前記試料極が前記試料と接触しないように保護する保護部が設けられる請求項3に記載の水素センサ。
- 前記保護部は、前記試料極の表面に着脱可能に設けられる請求項4に記載の水素センサ。
- 前記容器は、
開口を有する外側部材と、
前記開口から前記容器の内部に挿入される内側部材と、
を含み、
前記容器の内部に挿入された前記内側部材を引き出す方向に摺動させることにより前記吸引部から前記外側部材の内部に前記試料を吸引可能に構成される請求項3から5のいずれかに記載の水素センサ。 - 前記試料極は、前記内側部材の前記吸引部側の端部に設けられ、
前記電解質及び前記標準極は、前記内側部材の内部に設けられる請求項6に記載の水素センサ。 - 前記吸引部は、水素が透過困難な材質からなり、針状の形状を有する請求項3から7のいずれかに記載の水素センサ。
- 前記容器は、
マイクロピペットの本体と、
前記本体の内部にあるロッドと、
前記本体の端部に取付可能なチップと、
を含み、
押し下げられた前記ロッドが元に戻るときに前記チップから前記本体の内部に前記試料を吸引可能に構成される請求項3から5のいずれかに記載の水素センサ。 - 前記試料極は、前記ロッドの前記チップ側の端部に設けられる請求項9に記載の水素センサ。
- 前記吸引部は、前記容器に着脱可能に設けられる請求項3から10のいずれかに記載の水素センサ。
- 前記標準試料に含まれる水素の量に応じて変色する変色部が前記標準試料の近傍に設けられる請求項3から11のいずれかに記載の水素センサ。
