前記センサ空燃比が前記出力上限値に等しいときには、前記エンジンの吸入空気量および燃料噴射量に基づく推定空燃比を前記出力上限値で下限ガードした値を前記把握空燃比として得る、
ことを要旨とする。

- エンジンと、前記エンジンの排気系に取り付けられた空燃比センサと、制御装置とを備えるエンジン装置であって、
前記制御装置は、
前記空燃比センサにより得られるセンサ空燃比が前記空燃比センサの出力上限値未満のときには、前記センサ空燃比を前記エンジンの把握空燃比として得て、
前記センサ空燃比が前記出力上限値に等しいときには、前記エンジンの吸入空気量および燃料噴射量に基づく推定空燃比を前記出力上限値で下限ガードした値を前記把握空燃比として得る、
