Description
a)セルロース繊維又はリグノセルロース繊維を架橋剤と混合する工程又は含浸させる工程、続いてセルロース繊維又はリグノセルロース繊維と架橋剤との混合物を、繊維の温度が150℃を超えないような条件で乾燥させる工程と、その後に、
b)工程a)の生成物を含むマットを形成する工程であって、繊維の温度が150℃を超えないような条件で実施される乾式フォーミングプロセスによって、工程a)の上記生成物が10重量%未満の含水量を有する、上記マットを形成する工程と、
を含む、熱成形に好適な乾式(dry-laid)マットを製造する方法を対象とする。
複合体シート用に、1段階の機械リファイニングプロセスで、100%オウシュウトウヒチップからMDF(中密度繊維板)タイプの木部繊維をリファイニングした。リファイニングでは、蒸解温度が195℃、蒸気流量が200l/分、リファイナー圧力が8バールであった。リファイニング後、周囲条件にて繊維を6~8%の含水量まで乾燥させた。
未処理繊維及びクエン酸処理繊維のマットを、実験室用オーブン内で150~155℃まで予熱した。初期の坪量に応じて、1層又は2層のマットを、約180℃まで加熱した平らな鋼板に置き、オーブンシートで覆い、20MPaでプレスした。全圧のプレス時間は3秒で、合計のサイクル時間、すなわち、マットが熱金型と接触した時間は約30秒であった。プレスされた複合体プレートを取り外してIR温度計で温度を測定したところ、165~170℃であった。得られた坪量は、2200~2500g/m2の範囲であり、おそらくエアレイ法プロセスの相違のためにプレート上での側位が異なるため、これらの坪量及び厚みは幾分異なった。
未処理繊維及びクエン酸処理繊維のマットを上記の通り加熱し、2層で鋼板に置き、100MPaでプレスした。全圧のプレス時間は3秒で、合計のサイクル時間、すなわち、マットが熱金型と接触した時間は約40秒であった。プレスされた複合体プレートを取り外してIR温度計で温度を測定したところ、170~172℃であった。得られた坪量は約2100g/m2であったが、おそらくエアレイ法プロセスの相違のためにプレート上での側位が異なるため、これらの坪量及び厚みは幾分異なった。
Claims (11)
- 熱成形に好適な乾式(dry-laid)マットを製造する方法であって、
a)セルロース繊維又はリグノセルロース繊維を、溶媒に溶解した架橋剤に含浸させ、その結果架橋剤が繊維表面上に吸着され、かつ繊維構造体の孔の中にも吸収される工程、続いてセルロース繊維又はリグノセルロース繊維と架橋剤との混合物を、繊維の温度が150℃を超えないような条件で乾燥させる工程と、その後に、
b)工程a)の生成物を含むマットを形成する工程であって、繊維の温度が150℃を超えないような条件で実施される乾式フォーミングプロセスによって、工程a)の該生成物が10重量%未満の含水量を有する、上記マットを形成する工程と、
を含み、
工程b)で形成されたマットが、少なくとも1種の熱可塑性ポリマーを含み、
前記乾式フォーミングプロセスが、
繊維の温度が150℃を超えないような条件下で、かつ
少なくとも一つの熱可塑性ポリマーが、少なくとも部分的に溶融し、及びマットの構成成分を共に結合させるような条件下で、
工程a)の生成物を加熱することを含む、
上記方法。 - 工程b)で形成されたマットが、少なくとも1種のカップリング剤を含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 工程b)での乾式フォーミングが、エアレイ法によって実施される、請求項1又は2に記載の方法。
- 架橋剤が、少なくとも2つのカルボキシル基を有する有機カルボン酸である、請求項1から3のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 架橋剤がクエン酸である、請求項4に記載の方法。
- セルロース繊維又はリグノセルロース繊維が、化学パルプ、サーモメカニカルパルプ(TMP)、中密度繊維板(MDF)用の機械的繊維、又はケモ・サーモメカニカルパルプ(CTMP)の形態で提供される、請求項1から5のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 工程a)の含浸が、繊維が導管中の空気流で運搬される間に、これらの繊維上に架橋剤を吹き付けることによって実施される、請求項1から6のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 導管が、機械パルプリファイナー又は管型反応器又は流動床コーターのブローラインである、請求項7に記載の方法。
- 含浸が、ドラムブレンダ又はドラムミキサで実施される、請求項1から6のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- セルロース原料若しくはリグノセルロース原料を機械パルプリファイナーに導入する前に含浸が実施される、又は架橋剤がリファイナーの希釈水中に提供される、請求項1から5のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 続いて熱成形が実施され、該熱成形が150℃~220℃の温度及び1~100MPaの圧力で、架橋剤を硬化させるのに十分な時間実施される、請求項1から10のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
