Description
実施形態の液体吐出装置1を搭載した画像形成装置の一例として、記録媒体に画像を印刷するインクジェットプリンタ10を説明する。図1は、インクジェットプリンタ10の概略構成を示す。インクジェットプリンタ10は、例えば外装体である箱型の筐体11を備えている。筐体11の内部には、記録媒体の一例であるシートSを収納するカセット12、シートSの上流搬送路13、カセット12内から取り出したシートSを搬送する搬送ベルト14、搬送ベルト14上のシートSに向けてインクの液滴を吐出するインクジェットヘッド1A~1D、シートSの下流搬送路15、排出トレイ16、及び制御基板17を配置している。ユーザーインターフェイスである操作部18は、筐体11の上部側に配置している。
しかも、上下に隣接するチャネル同士及び左右に隣接するチャネル同士は、夫々、相互に逆相となる駆動波形で駆動するペアとなっているので、その中央にあるチャネルへの圧力の影響を互いに打ち消し合う。すなわち、上下及び左右に隣接するチャネルは、既述の通り、注目チャネルからみて対称の位置にあるチャネル同士である。対称の位置にあるチャネルは略同じか或いは類似した波形の圧力振動を注目チャネルに与える。よって双方同じタイミング(同相)で駆動させると互いの振動が加算されて増幅した圧力振動を注目チャネルに与えてしまうが、駆動タイミングを半周期分ずらして逆相の駆動波形で駆動させることにより、相互に振動を打ち消し合う逆相の圧力振動を注目チャネルに与えるようになる。
続いて、第2実施形態の液体吐出装置1について説明する。図19は、液体吐出装置1の一例であるインクジェットヘッド1Aを透視して図1におけるZ軸方向からシートSを見たときのノズル配置である。すなわち、ノズル配置の平面投影図である。図中の符号#1~#66は、図9(a)に対応するチャネル番号を示し、作図の便宜上、チャネル番号66以降のノズル51の図示を省略している。また、アクチュエータ8の構成など、ノズル配置以外は第1実施形態のインクジェットヘッド1Aと同じである。よって詳しい説明は省略する。
続いて、第3実施形態の液体吐出装置について説明する。図21は、液体吐出装置の一例として、インクジェットヘッド101Aの縦断面図を示している。インクジェットヘッド101Aは、圧力室(個別圧力室)41を省略し、ノズルプレート5が共通インク室42と直接的に連通するようにしたことを除けば、第1実施形態で例示したインクジェットヘッド1Aと同じ構成である。従って、インクジェットヘッド1Aと同様の構成については、同じ符号を付すことによって詳しい説明は省略する。

Claims (7)
- 液体を吐出する複数のノズルをXY方向の2次元に配列したノズルプレートと、
前記ノズル毎に設けたアクチュエータと、
前記ノズルに連通する液体供給部と、
前記複数のノズルの中の一つに注目したとき、X方向の少なくとも一方及びY方向の少なくとも一方に夫々隣接するノズルのアクチュエータには、前記注目したノズルのアクチュエータとは駆動周期の半分をずらしたタイミングで駆動させる駆動信号を与える駆動制御部と、を備えたことを特徴とする液体吐出装置。 - 液体を吐出する複数のノズルをXY方向の2次元に配列したノズルプレートと、
前記ノズル毎に設けたアクチュエータと、
前記ノズルに連通する液体供給部と、
前記複数のノズルの中の一つに注目したとき、X方向の少なくとも一方及びY方向の少なくとも一方に夫々隣接するノズルのアクチュエータには、前記注目したノズルのアクチュエータとは駆動周期の半分をずらしたタイミングで駆動させ、且つ、X方向の両方に隣接するノズルのアクチュエータ同士、Y方向の両方向に隣接するノズルのアクチュエータ同士、或いはX方向の一方に隣接するノズルとY方向の一方に隣接するノズルのアクチュエータ同士のいずれかが相互に逆相の駆動波形となる駆動信号を与える駆動制御部と、を備えたことを特徴とする液体吐出装置。 - 液体を吐出する複数のノズルをXY方向の2次元に配列したノズルプレートと、
前記ノズル毎に設けたアクチュエータと、
前記ノズルに連通する液体供給部と、
前記複数のノズルの中の一つに注目したとき、X方向に隣接するノズルのアクチュエータと-X方向に隣接するノズルのアクチュエータには互いに逆相の駆動波形となる駆動信号を与え、且つ、Y方向に隣接するノズルのアクチュエータと-Y方向に隣接するノズルのアクチュエータには互いに逆相の駆動波形となる駆動信号を与える駆動制御部と、を備えたことを特徴とする液体吐出装置。 - 前記アクチュエータを駆動したときの前記ノズルプレートの面方向に沿う振動の半波長は、前記アクチュエータの配列のピッチよりも長いことを特徴とする請求項1~3のいずれか1項に記載の液体吐出装置。
- 前記複数のノズルの中の一つに注目したとき、X方向の両方向に隣接するノズルの位置は、前記注目したノズルに対するY軸方向のずらしの距離が(m+0.5)pとなっており、Y方向の一方に隣接するノズルの位置は、前記注目したノズルに対するY軸方向の離間距離が(n+0.5)pとなっており、Y方向の他方に隣接するノズルの位置は、前記注目したノズルに対するY軸方向の離間距離が(n-0.5)pとなっており、
前記mは0を含む自然数、nは0を含まない自然数、pは吐出した液体によって形成されるドットのドットピッチであることを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載の液体吐出装置。 - 前記複数のノズルの中の一つに注目したとき、X方向の両方向に隣接するノズルの位置は、前記注目したノズルに対するY軸方向のずらしの距離が(m+0.5)pとなっており、Y方向の一方に隣接するノズルの位置は、前記注目したノズルに対するY軸方向の離間距離が(n+0.5)pとなっており、Y方向の他方に隣接するノズルの位置は、前記注目したノズルに対するY軸方向の離間距離が(n-0.5)pとなっており、
前記mは0を含む自然数、nは0を含まない自然数、pはX方向のノズルピッチであることを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載の液体吐出装置。 - 前記請求項1~6のいずれか1項に記載の液体吐出装置を備えたことを特徴とする画像形成装置。
