Claims (12)
- 光源と、
所定の円周上に配置された2対のフォトダイオードを有し、前記光源から出射された光を受光して、各対を構成する2つのフォトダイオードによる前記光の受光面積に応じて変化する信号を出力する検出器と、を有する位置変換器であって、
前記フォトダイオードのそれぞれが互いに別々のチップ上に形成され、
前記2対のフォトダイオードが所定の領域の全周を取り囲み全体として円環形状になるように複数の前記チップが基板上に配置され、
前記複数のチップは、それぞれ5角形、又は、それぞれ6角形である、
ことを特徴とする位置変換器。 - 前記フォトダイオードの個数をnとして、前記フォトダイオードおよび前記チップは前記基板上でそれぞれ360度/nの回転対称に配置されている、請求項1に記載の位置変換器。

- 前記複数のチップがそれぞれ5角形である場合、前記複数のチップは、全体として4角形の外形になるように配置されている、請求項1に記載の位置変換器。

- 光源と、
所定の円周上に配置された少なくとも1対のフォトダイオードを有し、前記光源から出射された光を受光して、各対を構成する2つのフォトダイオードによる前記光の受光面積に応じて変化する信号を出力する検出器と、を有し、
前記フォトダイオードのそれぞれが互いに別々のチップ上に形成され、
各対のフォトダイオードが所定の領域の全周を取り囲み全体として円環形状になるように複数の前記チップが基板上に配置されている位置変換器の製造方法であって、
部分円環状の複数のフォトダイオードを共通のウェハ上に格子状かつ隣同士で180度逆向きに配列するように形成する工程と、
前記ウェハを縦、横および斜めに切断して複数のチップを形成する工程と、
前記複数のフォトダイオードが全体として円環形状になるように前記複数のチップを基板上に配置する工程と、
を含むことを特徴とする、位置変換器の製造方法。 - 前記複数のチップは、それぞれ多角形であり、前記複数のチップを形成する工程において、前記ウェハを縦、横および斜めに切断して多角形の前記複数のチップを形成する、請求項9に記載の位置変換器の製造方法。
- 前記複数のチップは、それぞれ5角形であり、前記複数のチップを形成する工程において、前記ウェハを縦、横および斜めに切断して5角形の前記複数のチップを形成する、請求項10に記載の位置変換器の製造方法。
- 前記複数のチップは、それぞれ6角形であり、前記複数のチップを形成する工程において、前記ウェハを縦、横および斜めに切断して6角形の前記複数のチップを形成する、請求項10に記載の位置変換器の製造方法。
