Description
ディスプレイシステム10によってリサイクルされる光の量は、表示されるかまたは画像内にレンダリングされるコンテンツのタイプに依存し得る。レンダリングされる画像の内容は動的に変化し得る。したがって、ディスプレイシステムの少なくとも1つのマイクロコントローラ12は、ディスプレイシステム10の1または複数のコンポーネントからのフィードバック制御に応答して、または、実行可能命令と共に少なくとも1つのマイクロコントローラ12に記憶された計算に応じて、バックライト20の出力を動的に調整する。
結果的に得られるより低いバックライト出力により、より高いエネルギー効率、より低い電力消費、のディスプレイシステム10が提供される。
Claims (2)
- ディスプレイシステムの光強度を調整するためのコンピュータ可読命令が記憶された非一時的コンピュータ可読媒体であって、
前記ディスプレイシステムは、光を生成及び投射するための1または複数の発光素子を有するバックライトと、前記バックライトの近くに配置され、少なくとも1つの反射偏光子を含む第1表示部と、画像をレンダリングするように構成される、前記第1表示部の近くの第2表示部と、を含み、
マイクロコントローラのプロセッサによって前記コンピュータ可読命令が実行されると、当該マイクロコントローラは、
少なくとも第1光強度値を表す信号を前記1または複数の発光素子に送信して、当該第1光強度値の光を前記バックライトから前記第1表示部に生成及び投射させ、
前記第1表示部のピクセル化された液晶層に、少なくとも第1透過状態と当該第1透過状態とは異なる第2透過状態との間で調整するように指令を出し、前記ピクセル化された液晶層は、前記第1透過状態及び前記第2透過状態の間で調整される場合に偏光を光学的に回転させて、前記第1表示部を介してピクセルレベルでローカルディミングバックライトを生成する、というように動的に構成され、
前記第1表示部の前記少なくとも1つの反射偏光子によって前記バックライトにリサイクルされた光の量を計算し、
少なくとも前記第1光強度値とは異なる第2光強度値を表す信号を前記1または複数の発光素子に送信して、当該第2光強度値の光を前記バックライトから前記第1表示部に生成及び投射させることによって、前記レンダリングされる画像を前記第2表示部に表示する
ことを特徴とする非一時的コンピュータ可読媒体。 - 前記マイクロコントローラの前記プロセッサによって前記コンピュータ可読命令が実行されると、当該マイクロコントローラは、
1または複数のコンポーネントから1または複数の入力信号を受信し、当該1または複数の入力信号に応じて前記画像の内容をレンダリングし、
前記第2表示部のTFTディスプレイ層による前記画像の投射を指令する
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のコンピュータ可読媒体。
