Abstract
Description
ディスプレイシステム10によってリサイクルされる光の量は、表示されるかまたは画像内にレンダリングされるコンテンツのタイプに依存し得る。レンダリングされる画像の内容は動的に変化し得る。したがって、ディスプレイシステムの少なくとも1つのマイクロコントローラ12は、ディスプレイシステム10の1または複数のコンポーネントからのフィードバック制御に応答して、または、実行可能命令と共に少なくとも1つのマイクロコントローラ12に記憶された計算に応じて、バックライト20の出力を動的に調整する。
結果的に得られるより低いバックライト出力により、より高いエネルギー効率、より低い電力消費、のディスプレイシステム10が提供される。
Claims (20)
- バックライトであって、筺体と、前記筺体に収容された、当該バックライトから光を生成及び投射するための1または複数の発光素子と、前記筺体上に配置された1または複数の反射部分と、を含む、バックライトと、
前記バックライトの近くに配置された第1表示部であって、上側基板と、当該第1表示部の前記上側基板と協動する液晶層と、当該第1表示部の前記上側基板の反対側に配置され前記液晶層と協動する下側基板と、前記第1表示部の前記上側基板及び前記第1表示部の前記下側基板のうちの1または複数と協動する少なくとも1つの反射偏光子と、を含む、第1表示部と、
前記第1表示部の近くに配置された第2表示部であって、上側基板と、当該第2表示部の前記上側基板と協動する薄膜トランジスタ(TFT)ディスプレイ層と、当該第2表示部の前記上側基板の反対側に配置され前記TFTディスプレイ層と協動する下側基板と、前記第2表示部の前記上側基板及び前記下側基板のうちの1または複数と協動する少なくとも1つの直線偏光子と、を含む、第2表示部と、
前記バックライト、前記第1表示部、及び、前記第2表示部のうちの1または複数と通信する少なくとも1つのマイクロコントローラと、
を備え、
前記少なくとも1つのマイクロコントローラは、前記第1表示部の前記液晶層を少なくとも第1透過状態及び第2透過状態の間で調整する命令を実行する
ことを特徴とするディスプレイシステム。 - 前記筺体の上面の近くに配置された拡散素子
を更に備え、
前記拡散素子は、前記バックライトと協動して、前記1または複数の発光素子によって生成及び投射された光、あるいは、前記1または複数の反射部分から反射された光、を分配する
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のディスプレイシステム。 - 前記第1表示部の前記少なくとも1つの反射偏光子は、
上面と、前記第1表示部の前記上側基板と協動する反対側の下面と、を含む本体を有する第1反射偏光子と、
前記第1表示部の前記下側基板と協動する上面と、反対側の下面と、を含む本体を有する第2反射偏光子と、
を更に有することを特徴とする請求項1に記載のディスプレイシステム。 - 前記第2反射偏光子の前記下面と協動する輝度向上膜
を更に備えたことを特徴とする請求項3に記載のディスプレイシステム。 - 前記第1表示部の前記液晶層は、前記第1表示部の前記上側基板と前記第1表示部の前記下側基板との間に配置されて前記第1表示部の前記上側基板及び前記第1表示部の前記下側基板と協動するTFT液晶ディスプレイ(LCD)を更に有する
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のディスプレイシステム。 - 前記第1表示部の前記液晶層は、単色TFT LCDを更に有する
ことを特徴とする請求項5に記載のディスプレイシステム。 - 前記第1表示部の前記液晶層はピクセル化され、
各ピクセルは、偏光を光学的に回転させて、ピクセルレベルにローカルディミングバックライトを生成するように動的に構成される
ことを特徴とする請求項5に記載のディスプレイシステム。 - 前記第2表示部の前記少なくとも1つの直線偏光子は、
前記第2表示部の前記下側基板と協動する上面と、反対側の下面と、を含む本体を有する第1直線偏光子と、
上面と、前記第2表示部の前記上側基板と協動する反対側の下面と、を含む本体を有する第2直線偏光子と、
を更に有することを特徴とする請求項1に記載のディスプレイシステム。 - 前記第2表示部の前記少なくとも1つの直線偏光子は、上面と、前記第2表示部の前記上側基板と協動する反対側の下面と、を含む本体を有する直線偏光子を更に有し、
前記第1反射偏光子の前記上面は、前記第2表示部の前記下側基板と協動して、前記第1表示部から前記第2表示部の前記TFTディスプレイ層への発光を制御する
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のディスプレイシステム。 - 前記第2表示部の前記TFTディスプレイ層は、前記第2表示部の前記上側基板と前記第2表示部の前記下側基板との間に配置されて前記第2表示部の前記上側基板及び前記第2表示部の前記下側基板と協動するTFT LCDを更に有する
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のディスプレイシステム。 - 前記第2表示部の前記TFTディスプレイ層は、カラーTFT LCDを更に有する
ことを特徴とする請求項10に記載のディスプレイシステム。 - 前記第1表示部及び前記第2表示部の間に配置された拡散板
を更に備え、
前記拡散板は、前記第1表示部を透過した光に光プロファイル遷移を提供する
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のディスプレイシステム。 - バックライトであって、筺体と、前記筺体に収容された、当該バックライトから光を生成及び投射するための1または複数の発光素子と、前記筺体上に配置された1または複数の反射部分と、を含む、バックライトと、
前記バックライトの近くに配置された第1表示部であって、上側基板と、当該第1表示部の前記上側基板と協動する液晶層と、当該第1表示部の前記上側基板の反対側に配置され前記液晶層と協動する下側基板と、上面と前記第1表示部の前記上側基板と協動する反対側の下面とを含む本体を有する第1反射偏光子と、前記第1表示部の前記下側基板と協動する上面と反対側の下面とを含む本体を有する第2反射偏光子と、を含む、第1表示部と、
前記第1表示部の近くに配置された第2表示部であって、上側基板と、当該第2表示部の前記上側基板と協動する薄膜トランジスタ(TFT)ディスプレイ層と、当該第2表示部の前記上側基板の反対側に配置され前記TFTディスプレイ層と協動する下側基板と、前記第2表示部の前記下側基板と協動する上面と反対側の下面とを含む本体を有する第1直線偏光子と、上面と前記第2表示部の前記上側基板と協動する反対側の下面とを含む本体を有する第2直線偏光子と、を含む、第2表示部と、
前記第1表示部及び前記第2表示部の間に配置された拡散板と、
前記バックライト、前記第1表示部、及び、前記第2表示部のうちの1または複数と通信する少なくとも1つのマイクロコントローラと、
を備え、
前記拡散板は、前記第1表示部を透過した光に光プロファイル遷移を提供し、
前記少なくとも1つのマイクロコントローラは、前記第1表示部の前記液晶層を少なくとも第1透過状態及び第2透過状態の間で調整する命令を実行する
ことを特徴とするディスプレイシステム。 - 前記筺体の上面の近くに配置された拡散素子
を更に備え、
前記拡散素子は、前記バックライトと協動して、前記1または複数の発光素子によって生成及び投射された光、あるいは、前記1または複数の反射部分から反射された光、を分配する
ことを特徴とする請求項13に記載のディスプレイシステム。 - 前記第2反射偏光子の前記下面と協動する輝度向上膜
を更に備えたことを特徴とする請求項13に記載のディスプレイシステム。 - 前記第1表示部の前記液晶層は、前記第1表示部の前記上側基板と前記第1表示部の前記下側基板との間に配置されて前記第1表示部の前記上側基板及び前記第1表示部の前記下側基板と協動する単色TFT液晶ディスプレイ(LCD)を更に有する
ことを特徴とする請求項13に記載のディスプレイシステム。 - 前記第1表示部の前記液晶層はピクセル化され、
各ピクセルは、偏光を光学的に回転させて、ピクセルレベルにローカルディミングバックライトを生成するように動的に構成される
ことを特徴とする請求項13に記載のディスプレイシステム。 - 前記第2表示部の前記TFTディスプレイ層は、前記第2表示部の前記上側基板と前記第2表示部の前記下側基板との間に配置されて前記第2表示部の前記上側基板及び前記第2表示部の前記下側基板と協動するカラーTFT LCDを更に有する
ことを特徴とする請求項13に記載のディスプレイシステム。 - ディスプレイシステムの光強度を調整するためのコンピュータ可読命令が記憶された非一時的コンピュータ可読媒体であって、
前記ディスプレイシステムは、光を生成及び投射するための1または複数の発光素子を有するバックライトと、前記バックライトの近くに配置され、少なくとも1つの反射偏光子を含む第1表示部と、画像をレンダリングするように構成される、前記第1表示部の近くの第2表示部と、を含み、
マイクロコントローラのプロセッサによって前記コンピュータ可読命令が実行されると、当該マイクロコントローラは、
少なくとも第1光強度値を表す信号を前記1または複数の発光素子に送信して、当該第1光強度値の光を前記バックライトから前記第1表示部に生成及び投射させ、
前記第1表示部のピクセル化された液晶層に、少なくとも第1透過状態及び第2透過状態の間で調整するように指令を出し、前記ピクセル化された液晶層は、前記第1透過状態及び前記第2透過状態の間で調整される場合に偏光を光学的に回転させて、前記第1表示部を介してピクセルレベルでローカルディミングバックライトを生成する、というように動的に構成され、
前記第1表示部の前記少なくとも1つの反射偏光子によって前記バックライトにリサイクルされた光の量を計算し、
少なくとも第2光強度値を表す信号を前記1または複数の発光素子に送信して、当該第2光強度値の光を前記バックライトから前記第1表示部に生成及び投射させることによって、前記レンダリングされる画像を前記第2表示部に表示する
ことを特徴とする非一時的コンピュータ可読媒体。 - 前記マイクロコントローラの前記プロセッサによって前記コンピュータ可読命令が実行されると、当該マイクロコントローラは、
1または複数のコンポーネントから1または複数の入力信号を受信し、当該1または複数の入力信号に応じて前記画像の内容をレンダリングし、
前記第2表示部のTFTディスプレイ層による前記画像の投射を指令する
ことを特徴とする請求項19に記載のコンピュータ可読媒体。
