Description
本発明は、改善された効率で植物材料からセルロース含有粒子を調製するための方法に関する。特に、この方法はセルロース含有粒子の連続製造を可能にするように操作することができる。セルロース含有粒子は、広範囲の製品におけるレオロジー調整剤および亀裂防止剤として有用である。
(ii)混合物のpHがpH4.5以下になるまで工程(i)からの混合物を水和させ;および
(iii)工程(ii)からの混合物を均質化し、セルロース含有材料を単離する。工程(i)における植物材料の粒子は、10μm~800μmの平均粒径を有する。
(i)植物材料の粒子を過酸化物試薬および水と接触させ;
(ii)混合物のpHがpH4.5以下になるまで工程(i)からの混合物を水和させ;
(iii)工程(ii)からの混合物を均質化し、そしてセルロース含有材料を単離する工程を含む。
本発明の方法をさらに詳細に説明する。
本発明の方法のための出発材料は草本植物材料を含む。本明細書で定義される「草本」という用語は、一年生、二年生または多年生の維管束植物であり、コケ、萎縮性緑藻、および大型藻(ワカメ)を指すのにも使用される。コケ、萎縮性緑藻、および大型藻は、一般に「草本」であるとは理解されていないが、便宜上、これらの植物も、本明細書で使用される「草本」という用語の中で言及される。
粒子は、任意の適切な手段を用いて形成することができる。好ましくは、粒子を形成するための粉砕の前に水または他の液体を植物材料に添加しない。したがって、植物材料は、粉砕工程中にスラリーまたは懸濁液の形態ではない。したがって、この方法は、液体の非存在下で植物材料を粉砕して植物材料の粒子を形成する工程を含み得る。任意選択で、植物材料は、粉砕前に30重量%未満の水を含み、例えば20重量%未満の水を含み、例えば15重量%未満の水を含む。いくつかの実施形態において、植物材料は、粒子に形成される前に(例えば、周囲温度でまたはより高い温度で)乾燥させることができる。粉砕した材料を選別して、所望のサイズの粒子を選択することができる。
本発明の方法内で使用される植物材料の粒子は、10μm~800μmの平均直径を有する。用語「直径」は、粒子の一方の側から他方の側にわたる測定値を指す。当業者は、粒子が完全に球形ではなく、ほぼ球形、楕円形、円板形、または不規則な形でさえあり得ることを認識するであろう。当業者はまた、出発材料内にある範囲の直径が存在するであろうことを知っているだろう。本発明の利点を得るために、述べられた粒径サイズから外れるある非常に少量の粒子を細心に排除する必要はない。しかしながら、出発材料内に異なる直径サイズの粒子を含めることは、状況によっては最終製品の品質に悪影響を及ぼす可能性がある。
(iiic)セルロース含有材料を単離する。上記のように、均質化工程(iiia)の後に、さらなる洗浄工程(iiib)を続けることができ、これは工程(ii)の洗浄工程について上述したように実施することができる。工程(iiib)が存在する場合、この工程を工程(iia)または(iic)のいずれかと同じ方法でまたは同じ仕様で実施する必要はない。工程(iiic)は、セルロース含有材料を単離する工程を指す。これは、例えばセルロース含有材料を濃縮する工程も含み得る最終濾過工程によって、例えばそれをペースト、ケーキまたは他のより濃縮された形に形成するために材料からさらなる液体を除去することによって達成することができる。任意選択で、セルロース含有材料は、少なくとも5重量%の固体、例えば少なくとも10重量%の固体、例えば15重量%の固体、例えば20重量%の固体、例えば25重量%の固体、例えば30重量%の固体を含む。ベルトフィルタープレスを使用して、より濃縮された形態の材料を達成することができる。固形分15重量%を超えるレベルでは、材料をペレット化することができ、例えば、すりおろすことができ、あるいは紐または他の形状に押し出すことができる。
テンサイペレット900gを洗浄し、それらを温水に加えることによって水和し、汚れた水をふるいを通して排水した。このテンサイ水和物を過分な水の入った大きなバケツに入れ、攪拌してからザルですくい出して水で洗浄することで、次の加工段階に石やグリットが入らないようにする。
1.過酸化水素反応の開始、固形分2%、70℃比較例/60℃実施例1。
実施例5:実施例1に上記した方法を、150μm(150~700)より大きい粒径を有するテンサイ粉末を用いて実施した。反応時間は3時間30分であり、そして最終pHは3.4であった。最終粘度は3160cPsであり、より大きい粒子は700μmまでの全粒径範囲よりわずかに劣る最終粘度を示し、そして75~150μmの間の粒子よりも著しく劣ることを示した。
Claims (15)
- セルロース含有材料の製造方法であって、(i)植物材料の粒子を過酸化物試薬および水と接触させる工程;
(ii)混合物のpHがpH4.5以下になるまで工程(i)からの混合物を水和させる工程;および
(iii)工程(ii)からの混合物を均質化し、セルロース含有材料を単離する工程、を含み、
ここで、工程(i)の植物材料の粒子は、10μm~800μmの平均粒径を有し、液体の不在下で、粉砕または製粉により植物材料を粉砕することによって形成される。 - 前記粒子が100μm~300μmの平均粒径を有する、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記粒子が100μm~200μmの粒径分布を有する、請求項1または2に記載の方法。
- 前記粒子が75~150μmの粒径分布を有する、請求項1または2に記載の方法。
- 前記過酸化物試薬が過酸化水素である、請求項1~4のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記植物材料が、根菜、塊茎または果実である草本植物材料を実質的に含む、請求項1~5のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記根菜がニンジン、テンサイ、カブ、パースニップまたはスウェーデンカブであり、
前記塊茎がジャガイモ、サツマイモ、山芋、ルタバヤまたはユッカの根であり、
前記果実がリンゴ、ナシ、柑橘類またはブドウである、請求項6に記載の方法。 - 前記過酸化物試薬を水に添加して水-過酸化物試薬混合物を形成し、次いで水-過酸化物混合物を工程(i)において前記植物材料の粒子に添加する請求項1~7のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 工程(ii)が、工程(i)からの混合物を水和させて4.5以下のpHを有する水和混合物を形成させ、そして水和混合物を洗浄または中和して、処理水和混合物を形成することを含む、請求項1~8のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 工程(ii)が、工程(i)からの混合物を水和させて4.5以下のpHを有する水和混合物を形成させるか、または水和混合物を中和して、処理水和混合物を形成、そして処理した水和混合物を漂白して漂白した水和混合物を形成することを含む、請求項1~9のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 工程(ii)が、工程(i)からの混合物を水和させて4.5以下のpHを有する水和混合物を形成させ、水和混合物を洗浄または中和して処理水和混合物を形成し、処理済み水和混合物を漂白して漂白済み水和混合物を形成し、そして漂白した水和混合物を洗浄することを含む、請求項1~10のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 工程(ii)からの混合物は、20℃において、10rpmで回転させたスピンドルを備えたブルックフィールド粘度計を用いて測定される粘度が、30~200cPsである、請求項1~11のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 工程(iii)において工程(ii)からの混合物を均質化することによって、20℃において、10rpmで回転させたスピンドルを備えたブルックフィールド粘度計を用いて測定される粘度が、2000~5000cPsである混合物を提供する、請求項1~12のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 連続的に実施される、請求項1から13のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記セルロース含有材料が75~500μmの粒径を有する、請求項1~14のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
