Description
本出願は、2016年11月15日に出願された、発明者Simon G.Stoneらの米国仮特許出願第62/422,420号明細書の米国特許法119条(e)項に基づく恩典を主張し、その開示は参照により本明細書に組み込まれる。
本発明は、NIH-NIDDKによって授与された助成金番号1R43DK113536-01の下で政府の支援を受けてなされた。政府は本発明において一定の権利を有する。
dP=Pe+Pc-Pg
で表すことができ、Peは環境圧力、Pcは弾性圧縮可能部材によって印加された圧力、およびPgはガス領域におけるガス圧である。ガス領域内の圧力が基準領域内の合算圧力(Pe+Pc)を超えると、dP値は負になり、アノード集電体は弾性圧縮可能部材の中に向かって撓み、アノード支持体から離れるように移動して、機械的分離および電気回路の開路を引き起こす。「オン」状態の再確立は、自己調節式電解ガス発生器の通常動作の一部であってもよく、また、「オン」状態の再確立は、中に蓄えられた機械的エネルギーが、アノード集電体とアノード支持体との間の機械的接触を回復するのに十分な、電解槽の活性領域に対する力をもたらすように、弾性圧縮可能部材の賢明な選択によって保証される。同様に、環境圧力(すなわち、大気圧、または発生したガスを利用する細胞移植片を有する対象の血圧)が変化する場合、ガスの発生を適切に調節し、これによってガス処理済み移植片の圧力を調整するように、アノード集電体の変位にそれぞれの変化があるだろう。
既存の小型電気分解セルを、自己調節式電解ガス発生器として使用するように適合させた。セルは、セルの活性領域およびシール領域に対する一定の機械的負荷を維持するために、機械加工されたポリ(エーテルエーテルケトン)プラスチックエンドプレートおよびステンレス鋼固定具を使用した。
既存の小型電気分解セルを、自己調節式電解ガス発生器として使用するように適合させた。セルは、セルの活性領域およびシール領域に対する一定の機械的負荷を維持するために、機械加工されたポリ(エーテルエーテルケトン)プラスチックエンドプレートおよびステンレス鋼固定具を使用した。ガスケットと酸素ポートとの整列を維持するために、位置合わせピンの穴を追加した。
Claims (30)
- 少なくとも1つの第1のガスを発生させるために反応物を電気分解する電解ガス発生器であって、前記電解ガス発生器は、
(a)対向する第1および第2の面を有する、高分子電解質膜と、
(b)前記高分子電解質膜の前記第1の面に電気的に結合されている、第1電極と、
(c)前記高分子電解質膜の前記第2の面に電気的に結合されている、第2電極と、
(d)導電性であり、ガス圧を受けると、第1状態と第2状態との間で可逆的に変形可能な第1集電体であって、前記第1状態は、前記第1集電体と前記第1電極との間の前記ガス圧が特定の閾値を下回ると生じ、それによって、前記第1集電体が前記第1電極に電気的に結合されるように変形し、前記第2状態は、前記第1集電体と前記第1電極との間の前記ガス圧が前記特定の閾値を超えると生じ、それによって、前記第1集電体が、前記第1電極から少なくとも部分的に電気的に切り離されるように、前記第1電極から離れるように変形する、第1集電体と、
(e)導電性であり、前記第2電極に電気的に結合されている、第2集電体と、
(f)前記第1集電体および前記第2集電体に電気的に結合されている、電源と、
を備え、
(g)これにより、前記第1集電体が前記第1状態にあり、前記反応物が前記電解ガス発生器に供給されているとき、前記第1電極と前記高分子電解質膜との界面において第1のガスが発生する、
電解ガス発生器。 - 前記電解ガス発生器は水電解槽である、請求項1に記載の電解ガス発生器。
- 前記第1集電体は、前記第1状態において前記第1電極と直接物理的および電気的に接触しており、前記第2状態において前記第1電極から完全に物理的および電気的に切り離されている、請求項1に記載の電解ガス発生器。
- 前記第1集電体は、前記第1状態において前記第1電極と直接物理的および電気的に接触しており、前記第2状態において前記第1電極から部分的に物理的および電気的に切り離されている、請求項1に記載の電解ガス発生器。
- 前記第1電極はアノードであり、前記第2電極はカソードである、請求項1に記載の電解ガス発生器。
- 前記第1集電体を前記第1状態に向けて付勢するための、前記第1集電体と係合する弾性圧縮可能部材をさらに備える、請求項1に記載の電解ガス発生器。
- 前記弾性圧縮可能部材は発泡体のブロックを備える、請求項6に記載の電解ガス発生器。
- 前記発泡体はオープンセル発泡体である、請求項7に記載の電解ガス発生器。
- 前記発泡体はクローズドセル発泡体である、請求項7に記載の電解ガス発生器。
- 前記第1集電体は弾性である、請求項1に記載の電解ガス発生器。
- 前記第1集電体は、非多孔質でガス不透過性の導電性ダイヤフラムを備える、請求項1に記載の電解ガス発生器。
- 前記第1集電体は、非多孔質でガス透過性の導電性ダイヤフラムを備える、請求項1に記載の電解ガス発生器。
- 前記第1集電体は、導電性ダイヤフラムおよびリング端子を備える、請求項1に記載の電解ガス発生器。
- 前記第2集電体は、少なくとも1つの孔を備える、請求項1に記載の電解ガス発生器。
- 電気分解されるための外部の流体を前記電解ガス発生器内に入れるための第1の流体入口をさらに備える、請求項1に記載の電解ガス発生器。
- 前記電解ガス発生器から前記電解ガス発生器によって発生された第1のガスを放出するための第1の流体出口をさらに備える、請求項1に記載の電解ガス発生器。
- 酸素ガスおよび水素ガスを発生させるために水を電気分解する電解ガス発生器であって、前記電解ガス発生器は、
(a)対向する第1および第2の面を有する、高分子電解質膜と、
(b)前記高分子電解質膜の前記第1の面に電気的に結合されている、第1電極と、
(c)前記高分子電解質膜の前記第2の面に電気的に結合されている、第2電極と、
(d)導電性であり、ガス圧を受けると、第1状態と第2状態との間で可逆的に変形可能な第1集電体であって、前記第1状態は、前記第1集電体と前記第1電極との間の前記ガス圧が特定の閾値を下回ると生じ、それによって、前記第1集電体が前記第1電極に電気的に結合されるように変形し、前記第2状態は、前記第1集電体と前記第1電極との間の前記ガス圧が前記特定の閾値を超えると生じ、それによって、前記第1集電体が、前記第1電極から少なくとも部分的に電気的に切り離されるように、前記第1電極から離れるように変形する、第1集電体と、
(e)導電性であり、前記第2電極に電気的に結合されている、第2集電体と、
(f)前記第1電極の周囲に配置され、前記第1電極で発生した水素および酸素のうちの一方を放出するための流体出口を備える、第1シールと、
(g)前記第2電極の周囲に配置され、前記第2電極で発生した水素および酸素のうちの他方を放出するための流体出口を備える、第2シールと、
(h)第1エンドプレートであって、前記第1集電体が前記第1エンドプレートと前記高分子電解質膜との間に配置されている、第1エンドプレートと、
(i)第2エンドプレートであって、前記第2集電体が前記第2エンドプレートと前記高分子電解質膜との間に配置されている、第2エンドプレートと、
を備え、
(j)前記第1シール、前記第2シール、前記第1エンドプレート、および前記第2エンドプレートのうちの少なくとも1つは外部の水を入れるための少なくとも1つの入口を有し、
(k)前記第1集電体および前記第2集電体に電気的に結合されている、電源をさらに備え、
(l)これにより、前記第1集電体が前記第1状態にあり、水が前記電解ガス発生器に供給されているとき、前記第1電極と前記高分子電解質膜との界面において水素および酸素ガスのうちの一方が発生し、前記第2電極と前記高分子電解質膜との界面において水素および酸素のうちの他方が発生する、
電解ガス発生器。 - 前記第1集電体は、前記第1状態において前記第1電極と直接物理的および電気的に接触しており、前記第2状態において前記第1電極から完全に物理的および電気的に切り離されている、請求項17に記載の電解ガス発生器。

- 前記第1電極はアノードであり、前記第2電極はカソードである、請求項17に記載の電解ガス発生器。

- 前記第1エンドプレートの前記少なくとも1つの孔の中に配置された限外濾過膜をさらに備える、請求項24に記載の電解ガス発生器。
- 前記第2集電体は少なくとも1つの孔を備え、前記第2エンドプレートは少なくとも1つの孔を備える、請求項17に記載の電解ガス発生器。
- 前記第2集電体と前記第2エンドプレートとの間に配置された液体透過性でガス不透過性の界面層をさらに備える、請求項26に記載の電解ガス発生器。
- 前記第1シールおよび前記第2シールのうちの少なくとも1つは、外部の水を入れるための流体入口を有する、請求項17に記載の電解ガス発生器。
- (a)請求項1に記載の電解ガス発生器と、
(b)移植可能な1つ以上の細胞および/または組織を保持するための容器と、
(c)前記電解ガス発生器によって発生した前記第1のガスを前記容器に導くための第1管材と、
を備えるインプラントシステム。 - (a)請求項17に記載の電解ガス発生器と、
(b)移植可能な1つ以上の細胞および/または組織を保持するための容器と、
(c)前記電解ガス発生器によって発生した前記水素および酸素のうちの一方を前記容器に導くための第1管材と、
(d)前記電解ガス発生器によって発生した前記水素および酸素のうちの他方を前記容器に導くための第2管材と、
を備えるインプラントシステム。
