Description
本発明の実施例は、バックライトモジュールのディフューザとして表示装置に応用可能な光学板(optical plate)を提案している。実施例の光学板は、本体表面に形成された突起部(protrusion)と、表面粗さを低減する設計とを利用し、表示装置の発光領域の輝度の均一性(uniformity of luminance;例えば四隅の均一性)を向上させる。従って、実施例に基づいて、高い拡散性能を有するディフューザを提供し、従来使用されてきた他の機能性フィルムの数を減らし、ひいてはコストを低減するとともに、応用する表示装置をさらに軽量薄型化させることができる(特に、大型サイズの表示装置)。実施例の光学板をディフューザとして応用する場合、突起部を有する本体表面(例えば、第1の表面)をバックライトモジュールの光源に向けることができ、本体の、粗い方の裏面(例えば、第2の表面)をバックライトモジュールの光源に向けることもできる。

(2×75477)÷(2×12502)=4.83%。
以下、そのうち数組の関連する実験およびそのデータを列記することで実施例の説明を行う。光学板1の構造については、上記内容および図1〜10を参照されたい。実験では数組の試料を提出し、かつ、各試料の規格は次の通りである:
日本のトプコン社(TOPCON CORPORATION)が製造した型番BM−7Aの輝度計を使って測定を行い、さらに、測定時に実験例1〜3および比較例1〜2の光ディフューザを、LED光源アレイが設けられたライトボックスモジュールに設置して輝度測定を行う。ここで、輝度(luminance)の値は、標準化された数値であり、すなわち、比較例1〜2および実験例1〜3の中心輝度測定値を、標準品(現行の市販のディフューザDS601A(奇美実業))の輝度測定値を100%として標準化した数値である。四隅の均一性は、モジュールの四隅の輝度をモジュールの中心輝度で除算した4つの数値の平均値である。
ミツトヨ(Mitutoyo)社の表面粗さテスター(型番SJ−210)を使用して表面粗さの測定を行う。突起部以外の第1の表面粗さRaとRzおよび第2の表面のRaとRzをランダムに測定し、測定距離は5mmである。
キーエンス(KEYENCE)社の共焦点レーザ顕微鏡(型番VK−X100シリーズ)を測定計器として使用することにより、ランダムにサンプリングして測定する。

Claims (6)
- 第1の表面を有する本体と;
複数の突起部であって、前記第1の表面に位置するとともに前記第1の表面から突出し、前記突起部のうち1つが200μm〜500μmの外径を有し、前記突起部が前記本体の前記第1の表面に占める比率が0.3%〜4.83%であり、2つの隣り合う前記突起部の間に1.25mm〜5mmのピッチを有しており、かつ、前記第1の表面が前記突起部以外の部分に0.01μm〜0.1μmの第1の中心線平均粗さRaを有する複数の突起部と、
を備えることを特徴とする光学板。 - 前記突起部のうち1つが、10μm〜35μmの最大高さを有し、前記第1の表面は出光面に対向する入光面であり、前記入光面および前記出光面は前記光学板の本体の表面であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の光学板。
- 請求項1に記載の光学板と;
前記本体の前記第1の表面の上方に設けられる光学フィルムと;
前記光学板と前記光学フィルムとの間に設けられ、前記突起部の頂面に粘着し、かつ前記第1の表面との間に空気層を有する接着剤層と、
を備えることを特徴とする光学構造。 - 前記突起部は凹み部を含み、前記凹み部の底部と前記接着剤層との間に空気を有し、前記第1の表面は入光面に対向する出光面であり、前記入光面および前記出光面は前記光学板の本体の表面であることを特徴とする請求項3に記載の光学構造。
- 光源と;
前記光源に対応して設けられる、請求項1〜2のいずれか一項に記載の光学板または請求項3〜4のいずれか一項に記載の光学構造と、
を備えることを特徴とするバックライトモジュール。 - 請求項1〜2のいずれか一項に記載の光学板または請求項3〜4のいずれか一項に記載の光学構造を備え、テレビと、ノートパソコンと、モバイルコンピュータと、コンピュータのためのモニタとからなる群から選択されることを特徴とする表示装置。
