樹脂中に分散された複数の多孔質セラミック砥粒複合体であって、多孔質セラミック砥粒複合体は、多孔質セラミックマトリックス材料中に分散された個別砥粒粒子を含み、多孔質セラミックマトリックスの少なくとも一部分はガラス質セラミックを含み、平均の多孔質セラミック砥粒複合体サイズ対平均の個別砥粒粒子サイズの比は15対1以下である、多孔質セラミック砥粒複合体と、を含む、砥粒外部作業面と、を含む砥粒回転ツール。

カバーグラス製造テスト−1
周縁エッジ内部特徴エッジ(孔を含む)を形成するためのスクライビング動作の後の部分的に完成したカバーグラスを用意した。部分的に完成したカバーグラスをCNC機械を用いてエッジ研削して、所望のサイズ及び形状を形成した。研削ステップに続いて、エッジを磨きをして好適な表面仕上げを得た。
周縁エッジ内部特徴エッジ(孔を含む)を形成するためのスクライビング動作の後の部分的に完成したカバーグラスを用意した。部分的に完成したカバーグラスをCNC機械を用いてエッジ研削して、所望のサイズ及び形状を形成した。エッジ研削されたカバーグラスを次にCNC機械を用いて研磨して、研削されたエッジの表面仕上げを改善した。研磨ステップの後に、エッジを磨きをして好適な表面仕上げを得た。
スクライビング及び粗い研削作業の後の部分的に完成したカバーグラスを用意した。カバーガラス材料はGorilla(商標)ガラス3(Corning(商標))である。部分的に完成したカバーグラスをCNC機械を用いてエッジ研削して、所望のサイズ及び形状を形成した。エッジ研削されたカバーグラスを次に、CNC機械及び円柱状砥粒ツールを用いて研磨して、研削されたエッジの表面仕上げを改善する。異なるダイヤモンド砥粒組成物の表面仕上げを比べて、異なる砥粒組成物の有効性を評価した。
このテストの場合、複雑なスプライン形状を標的形状として使用し、異なるベース層の砥粒物品を用いて完成部品と所望のスプライン形状との間のずれを測定した。完成したカバーグラスの表面粗さ(Ra[nm])を、各サンプルに対してBruker干渉計を用いてスプライン表面に沿って4等距離点で測定した。このテスト用に受けたカバーグラス部片は、粗さが500〜600nmから始まっているため、粗さの測定値が500nm未満であった場合、仕上げ作業の何らかの効果を表している。しかし、もっと低くて一貫した値が4等距離点間で得られた場合、同じプロセス条件に対してより良好な最終結果を表している。このテストの場合、ベース層以外のすべてに対する状態を、4000rpm、500umの圧縮深さ、30in/分の横断速度に維持した。それぞれの場合において、砥粒コーティングされたベース層を、発泡体サブ層に、そしてアルミニウムツールコアに積層した。
Claims (2)
- 砥粒回転ツールであって、
前記回転ツールに対する回転軸を規定するツールシャンクと、
前記ツールシャンクに結合された砥粒外部作業面であって、
樹脂と、
前記樹脂中に分散された複数の多孔質セラミック砥粒複合体であって、前記多孔質セラミック砥粒複合体は、多孔質セラミックマトリックス材料中に分散された個別砥粒粒子を含み、前記多孔質セラミックマトリックスの少なくとも一部分は、ガラス質セラミックを含み、平均の多孔質セラミック砥粒複合体サイズ対平均の個別砥粒粒子サイズの比は、15対1以下である、複数の多孔質セラミック砥粒複合体と、
を含む、砥粒外部作業面と、を含み、
前記砥粒外部作業面は、基材上に配置されたコーティングであり、
前記砥粒回転ツールは、前記砥粒外部作業面を裏打ちする弾性的圧縮性層を更に含み、
円柱状部分に対して前記ツールシャンクの反対側に位置する可撓性の平坦部分を更に含み、
前記可撓性の平坦部分は、前記ツールシャンクから概ね離れる方向を向く前記可撓性の平坦部分の第1の側面上に前記砥粒外部作業面を形成し、
前記砥粒外部作業面が前記ワークピースの前記角部に適用されたときに、前記可撓性の平坦部分は、前記砥粒外部作業面を用いて、前記ワークピースの角部を、前記回転ツールに対する前記回転軸に対する複数の角度に渡って、前記可撓性の平坦部分の曲がりによって、容易に研磨する、砥粒回転ツール。 - 電子デバイス用の部分的に完成したカバーガラスのエッジを仕上げる方法であって、
請求項1に記載の砥粒回転ツールを連続的に回転させることと、
前記エッジを、前記連続的に回転する砥粒回転ツールの前記砥粒外部作業面に接触させて前記エッジを研磨することと、を含む方法。
