Description
まず、図1及び図2の(a)(b)に基づいて、本発明が適用される場面の一例について、説明する。図1は、本発明の一態様における表示装置1を示すものであって、表示装置1の導光板10における第1反射構造部群及び第2反射構造部群の構成を示す斜視図である。図2の(a)は、本発明の一態様における表示装置1を示すものであって、2種類以上の第2反射構造部群における部分反射構造部群を備えた表示装置1を示す平面図である。図2の(b)は、前記部分反射構造部群の各構成部の形状を示す斜視図である。
〔実施の形態1〕
図3の(a)(b)及び図4に基づいて、本実施の形態の液晶表示装置1Aの構成例について説明する。図3の(a)は、本実施の形態における液晶表示装置1Aの実施の一形態を示すものであって、バックライト3の導光板10Aにおける液晶表示用反射パターン12及び図柄表示用反射パターン13の構成を示す斜視図である。図3の(b)は、表示パネル2による液晶表示2a、及び図柄表示用反射パターン13による所定表示EMを示す斜視図である。図4は、導光板10Aに形成された液晶表示用反射パターン12及び図柄表示用反射パターン13による光路変更状態を示す断面図である。
本発明の他の実施の形態について図12に基づいて説明すれば、以下のとおりである。尚、本実施の形態において説明すること以外の構成は、前記実施の形態1と同じである。また、説明の便宜上、前記の実施の形態1の図面に示した部材と同一の機能を有する部材については、同一の符号を付し、その説明を省略する。

前記導光板には、前記第1光源から入射された光を反射により光路変更させて、前記バックライトとして光出射面から出射させる第1反射構造部群と、前記第2光源から入射された光を反射により光路変更させて前記光出射面から出射させて所定表示を行う第2反射構造部群とが形成されており、
前記第1反射構造部群と前記第2反射構造部群とが前記導光板における所定領域内に混在して配される場合には、前記第1反射構造部群に含まれる各構成部の大きさは、所定領域外の第1反射構造部群に含まれる各構成部の大きさに比べて小さく形成されることを特徴とする表示装置。 - 前記第2光源は、複数の部分光源を含んでいると共に、
前記第2反射構造部群は、それぞれの前記部分光源に対応した複数の部分構造部群を含んでおり、
前記各部分構造部群は、それぞれ異なる図柄を表示することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の表示装置。 - 前記第2反射構造部群は、前記導光板の裏面に穿設された複数の凹状部からなり、前記凹状部の形状は、前記光出射面に対して垂直な方向から見た場合、紡錘形であることを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載の表示装置。
- 前記第2反射構造部群の反射面は、前記導光板の複屈折が変化する方向と平行であることを特徴とする請求項3に記載の表示装置。
- 前記第1光源と前記第2光源とは、出射光の色が互いに異なっていることを特徴とする請求項1〜4のいずれか1項に記載の表示装置。
- 前記導光板の第2反射構造部群による所定表示は前記導光板の光出射面にて行われ、表示パネルを通してその所定表示が外部から視認できるようになっていることを特徴とする請求項1〜5のいずれか1項に記載の表示装置。
- 前記導光板の第2反射構造部群による所定表示は、前記表示パネルの前方の空間に行われることを特徴とする請求項1〜5のいずれか1項に記載の表示装置。
- 前記第1光源及び前記第2光源の点灯制御を行う制御部が設けられていることを特徴とする請求項1〜7のいずれか1項に記載の表示装置。
- 前記制御部は、前記第1光源と前記第2光源とを切り替えて点灯することを特徴とする請求項8に記載の表示装置。
- 前記制御部は、前記第1光源及び前記第2光源を同時に点灯することを特徴とする請求項8に記載の表示装置。
- 請求項1〜10のいずれか1項に記載の表示装置をバックライトとして備えていると共に、前記バックライトの前方にはモノクロ液晶による表示を行う表示パネルが設けられていることを特徴とする液晶表示装置。
- 前記表示パネルは、ノーマリホワイトモードで駆動されることを特徴とする請求項11に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記導光板と前記表示パネルとの間には、光を拡散する拡散板が設けられていることを特徴とする請求項11又は12に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記導光板における、前記表示パネルとは反対側である背面には、前記導光板の背面に出た光を導光板に戻す反射板が設けられていることを特徴とする請求項11〜13のいずれか1項に記載の液晶表示装置。
