Description
これらの希薄燃焼機関は、エンジンに吸入される空気の量が化学量論的な空燃比に比べ多い。空気が化学量論量よりも多いため、還元性成分である炭化水素(HC)や一酸化炭素(CO)が余剰の酸素で酸化除去されやすくなる。その一方、空気が多く、HCやCOなど還元性成分が不足しやすい環境となるため、酸化性成分である窒素酸化物(NOx)は還元除去され難くなるというデメリットがある。近年、特に低燃費への市場からの要求が増してきていることから排気ガス中の還元成分であるHC,COの量も減る傾向にあり、このようなデメリットの解決は重要な課題になっている。
このLNT触媒では、空燃比をリッチ(空気が化学量論量より過少)にして燃焼させた排気ガスに含まれる未燃のHCや、排気管内に噴霧された燃料が還元剤として使用される。一般的には実車両の制御は、LNTのNOx吸蔵量がある一定量になったか、一定時間経過した際、その触媒に極短時間(1〜10秒)、未燃のHCや軽油などの燃料である還元成分を配管内またはエンジン筒内に供給する(以下、Richスパイクという。)信号が送られる。通常は効率の良いLNTのNOx吸蔵量がモニタリングされ効率よくRichスパイクが噴霧されるが、エンジン保護や触媒保護の目的で一定時間経過後にRichスパイクが行われる場合もある。
また、LNT触媒にはNOxを吸着する成分として、バリウム、マグネシウム、カルシウム、ストロンチウムなどのアルカリ土類金属酸化物、リチウム、ナトリウム、カリウム、ルビジウムなどのアルカリ金属酸化物、セリウム、ランタン、プラセオジム、ネオジムなどの希土類酸化物成分が用いられている。
このようにゼオライトの使用は提案されているが、それにより高温での課題を解決しうるかの記載はなく、高温環境下での浄化性能の低下を抑制する技術は未だ確立されていない。
前記触媒層は、前記上層にプロトン置換β型ゼオライトと、ロジウムを担持したセリア系酸化物とを少なくとも含有し、前記下層にNOx貯蔵成分と、無機酸化物に担持された白金とを少なくとも含有することを特徴する、リーンバーンエンジン用触媒が提供される。
本実施形態のリーンバーン用触媒は、プロトン置換β型ゼオライトと貴金属成分であるロジウムを担持したセリア系酸化物とを少なくとも含む上層、および、NOx貯蔵成分と無機酸化物に担持された白金とを少なくとも含有する下層、の少なくとも2層からなる触媒層を一体構造型担体上に設けた構成を備える。
すなわち本実施形態では、細孔内に存在するアルカリ(土類)金属元素などのカチオンを水素でイオン交換したプロトン置換β型ゼオライトを使用する。プロトン置換β型ゼオライトを用いれば、ゼオライトの細孔が大きいため、高沸点の酸素鎖長の長いHCのトラップ性能に優れ炭化水素の反応性を増し、低温での軽油添加時における炭化水素被毒の抑制効果が向上し、高い触媒活性を長時間維持することができる。また、プロトン置換β型であるため、鉄や銅などにイオン交換されているゼオライトに比べると低活性時に不用意な酸化反応をせず、このような不完全な酸化に由来したHC成分のコーキングによる失活を起しにくく高温での性能にも極めて優れている。
本実施形態のリーンバーン用触媒は、図1に示すように、一体構造型担体の上に少なくとも上層・下層の少なくとも二層からなる、貴金属元素を含む触媒層を有する。
下層を二層に分けることで、その最下層にはゼオライトが不要となり、本発明を実施するうえでコスト的にも有利になるが、最下層においても前記の最小の触媒組成物構成単位の他、その作用を阻害しない範囲であれば前記のような多様なゼオライトを含んでもよい。
本実施形態のリーンバーン用触媒は、上層にプロトン置換β型ゼオライトと、ロジウムを担持したセリア系酸化物とを少なくとも含有する。なお、特にことわりの無いかぎり、以下の上層に関する記載中の触媒成分の量は上層中の成分量を表す。
本実施形態において、ゼオライトとしてプロトン置換β型ゼオライトを、触媒層が二層触媒の場合は上層、三層触媒の場合は最上層に使用する。

このように、プロトン置換されたβゼオライトを用いることで、炭化水素系還元剤を用いた脱硝反応の高温特性、低温特性が向上し、排気ガス中の窒素酸化物に対して優れた浄化能力を発揮する。
プロトン置換β型ゼオライト量が少なすぎると、低温時でのHCの吸着・吸蔵が十分でなく、系外にHCが排出されてしまうことがある。プロトン置換β型ゼオライト量が多すぎると、一体構造型担体(ハニカム)における触媒層が厚くなり、ハニカムの通孔断面を狭くしてしまい、背圧の上昇を招き、内燃機関に使用すると内燃機関の出力低下を招くことがある。
ロジウム成分は、セリア系酸化物に担持される。ロジウム成分は、金属ロジウムの形態で存在していてもよいが、後述する製造工程中の焼成や、排気ガスの浄化過程において酸化され、一部が酸化ロジウムとして含まれていてもよい。
ロジウム成分が多すぎると、調製時に母材上のロジウム粒子が巨大化することや、母材上のロジウム粒子間の距離が短くなることで高温時にロジウム粒子同士が移動して粒子成長が起こり易くなることで単位重量当りの表面積が小さくなり、そのため、NOxの浄化作用が十分に発揮されない場合がある。逆に、ロジウム成分が少なすぎると、ロジウムの表面積の絶対値が小さくなり、NOxの浄化作用が十分に発揮されない場合がある。
パラジウム成分の量は、特に制限されないが、金属パラジウム換算で、一体構造型担体の単位体積あたり、0.1〜2.0g/Lが好ましく、0.2〜1.5g/Lが好ましい。パラジウム成分が多すぎると還元剤であるHCやCOのO2による酸化浄化反応が進み過ぎてNOxを還元浄化するHC、COを消費してしまう場合があり、少なすぎると有害成分であるHCやCOのO2による酸化浄化作用が十分に発揮されない場合がある。
また、上層には、必要に応じて、白金を担持した無機酸化物を含有することができる。白金を担持した無機酸化物としては、白金担持アルミナ、白金パラジウム担持アルミナ等が挙げられるが、これらに特に限定されない。白金担持無機酸化物を含有させると、COを低温時や早期に燃焼できることがあるため好ましい場合がある。白金は金属の形態でもよいが、パラジウムとの合金として存在することができる。また、当初金属白金の形態で存在していても、後述する製造工程中の焼成や、排気ガスの浄化過程において酸化され、一部が酸化物となっていてもよい。白金がパラジウムとの合金となっていると白金成分の高温での揮発を抑制できる場合がある。
無機酸化物に担持される白金成分の量は、特に制限されるわけではないが、金属白金換算でハニカム型構造体の単位体積あたり、0.01〜10g/Lとすることができ、0.05〜5g/Lが好ましい。
本実施形態の貴金属成分であるロジウム成分、パラジウム成分や白金成分等は、耐熱性無機酸化物に担持される。これらの貴金属成分の活性は、その表面積の大きさに依存するところが大きく、触媒組成物中では微粒子状に安定して分散していることが望ましい。そのため、高温時にも安定して高い分散状態を保つ観点から、これらの貴金属成分は、高表面積を有するセリア系酸化物又はアルミナに担持されていることが好ましい。
なお、本実施形態において、セリア系酸化物は、セリウムを主成分とする酸化物であるが、ジルコニアを含んでいてもよい。例えばセリア(CeO2)は、OSCとして機能し、酸素の放出に伴いCeO2からCe2O3に変化し、酸素の吸蔵に伴いCe2O3からCeO2に変化する。
ロジウムの母材としてセリア系酸化物を用いることで、Richスパイク時のNOx還元を促進することができる。
セリア系酸化物の量が少なすぎると、担持する貴金属粒子、例えばロジウム粒子間の距離が近くなり、分散状態が悪くなるか、ロジウム粒子同士が焼結して粒子径が大きくなり、ロジウムの表面積が小さくなって活性が低下してしまうことがある。一方、多すぎると一体構造型担体における触媒層が厚くなり、ハニカムの通孔断面を狭くしてしまい、背圧の上昇を招き、内燃機関に使用すると内燃機関の出力低下を招くことがある。
本実施形態のリーンバーン用触媒は、下層にNOx貯蔵成分と、無機酸化物に担持された白金を少なくとも含有する。NOx貯蔵成分としては、アルカリ土類金属化合物とセリア系酸化物が含まれるのが好ましい。なお、特にことわりの無いかぎり、以下の下層に関する記載中の触媒成分の量は下層中の成分量を表す。
本実施形態のリーンバーン用触媒は、NOx吸蔵成分を含んでいる。NOx吸蔵成分としては、アルカリ土類金属化合物が好適に用いられる。ここで、アルカリ土類金属元素としては、Be,Mg,Ca,Sr、Ba、Raが挙げられ、これらの中でもBa及びMgが好ましく、より好ましくはBaである。下層のNOx貯蔵成分として、例えばBa成分のみ、あるいはBaとMg成分とを含有することができる。
Ba成分から放出されたNOxは、主としてロジウム成分上で、HCや他の還元成分と反応して還元浄化される。このようなBa成分によるNOxの吸蔵放出は、Ba成分の化学平衡によるものともいえる。
また、炭酸バリウム、炭酸マグネシウムはともに水に対して難溶性であるため、スラリー化の際にバリウムやマグネシウムが水溶液中に溶け出すことはない(硫酸バリウムは水に難溶性であるが、硫酸マグネシウムは水に可溶性であるため、スラリー化の際にマグネシウムが水に溶け出してしまう)。
また、必要に応じて、マグネシウムを、炭酸マグネシウムとして、一体構造型担体の単位体積当たり、5g/L〜20g/L含有させることもできる。
本実施形態において、下層に含まれうるセリア系酸化物は、セリウムを主成分とする酸化物であるが、ジルコニアを含んでいてもよい。例えばセリア(CeO2)は、OSCとして機能し、酸素の放出に伴いCeO2からCe2O3に変化し、酸素の吸蔵に伴いCe2O3からCeO2に変化する。
さらに、セリウム成分の量がジルコニウム成分の量に比べて多いセリア−ジルコニア系複合酸化物を使用することもできる。このとき、例えば耐熱性を向上させるために、酸化ランタンを2〜20重量%、及び酸化ネオジムを10〜30重量%含有するセリア−ジルコニア系複合酸化物を用いることもできる。さらには酸化カルシウム、セリア、ジルコニア、酸化マグネシウム、酸化イットリウムなどの添加物などを添加してもよい。
セリウム成分として添加物を実質的に含まないセリアを用いたほうが、添加物を含むものよりもNOx貯蔵機能が良くなる場合がある。
また、下層は、無機酸化物上に担持された白金を含有する。白金は、単独でもよいがパラジウムとの合金として存在していてもよい。また、当初金属白金の形態で存在していても、後述する製造工程中の焼成や、排気ガスの浄化過程において酸化され、一部が酸化物となっていてもよい。
なお、貴金属触媒成分として、白金、パラジウムを挙げたが、補助的に遷移金属、希土類金属や、他の貴金属などを併用してもよい。具体的には、鉄、ニッケル、コバルト、ジルコニウム、銅などの遷移金属、セリウム、ランタン、プラセオジム、ネオジウムなどの希土類金属、金、銀、イリジウム等の貴金属から一種以上を適宜選択できる。
白金成分やパラジウム成分が多すぎると、還元剤であるHCやCOのO2による酸化浄化反応を促進してNOxの還元浄化するためのHC、COの欠乏を招きうる。また、白金成分やパラジウム成分が少なすぎると、NOのNO2への酸化作用が充分に発揮されない場合がある。
本実施形態において、下層中の無機酸化物は、白金成分やパラジウム成分の担体として機能する。ここで用いることのできる無機酸化物としては、アルミナ、セリア、ジルコニア、シリカ、シリカアルミナなどが挙げられるが、これらに特に限定されない。これらの中でも、アルミナが好ましい。
アルミナとしては、γ−アルミナ、δ−アルミナ、θ−アルミナ、α−アルミナなどがあげられるが、表面積の劣るα−アルミナを除く、γ−アルミナ、δ−アルミナ、θ−アルミナの使用が好ましい。なかでも、γ−アルミナはその他のアルミナに比べ1000℃以上での耐久性は劣るものの、1000℃以下で使用されるリーンバーン用触媒としては十分な耐熱性を有する上に、表面積がこれらすべてのアルミナの中で最も高いため、白金成分やパラジウム成分を担持させる母材として特に好ましい。
また、アルミナは高温時での表面積を維持するため、酸化ランタン、セリア、バリウム、シリカなどが添加されたものでもよい。なお、酸化ランタンを添加する場合は、耐熱性を考慮して過剰量としないようにする。
バインダー成分としては、例えばアルミナゾル、シリカゾル、ジルコニアゾル、チタニアゾル等の種々のゾルを使用できる。また、硝酸アルミニウム、酢酸アルミニウム、硝酸ジルコニウム、酢酸ジルコニウム等の可溶性の塩も使用できる。
本実施形態で用いる一体構造型担体(ハニカム型構造体ともいう)は、上記触媒成分を担持する材料であって、一方の端面から他方の端面へ向かって伸びる多数の通孔を有しており、これらが集まってハニカム形状を形成している。
フロースルー型のハニカム型構造体のようなハニカム形状の担体では、その構造的特徴がセル密度であらわされる。本実施形態で用いるハニカム型構造体としては、セル密度100〜1500cell/inch2(155k〜2325k/m2)のフロースルー型のハニカム型構造体が好ましく、より好ましくは200〜900cell/inch2(310k〜1400k/m2)である。セル密度が100cell/inch2(155k/m2)以上であれば、浄化に必要な排気ガスと触媒の接触面積を確保することができ、構造上の強度にも優れた排気ガスの浄化性能が得られ易く、セル密度が1500cell/inch2(2325k/m2)以下であれば内燃機関の排気ガスの圧力を大きく損失させないため内燃機関の性能を損なうことがなく、排気ガスと触媒の接触面積も十分に確保することができる。特に、本実施形態のリーンバーン用触媒では、300〜900cell/inch2(465k〜1400k/m2)のフロースルー型のハニカム型構造体が、圧力損失の抑制の点から特に好ましく用いられる。
本実施形態のリーンバーン用触媒は、上記触媒成分を含む触媒組成物スラリーと一体構造型担体とを用意して、一体構造型担体に所定の触媒成分を層状に塗り分けることで製造することができる。具体的には、触媒組成物スラリーを、公知のウォッシュコート法によってハニカム型構造体に担持(塗工)し、ハニカム構造型触媒とする。
先ず、下層の触媒材料を用意してスラリー化する。
貴金属成分原料として、白金やパラジウムの硝酸塩、硫酸塩、炭酸塩、酢酸塩等の化合物を用いることができる。
また、白金成分原料としては、白金の硝酸塩、硫酸塩、炭酸塩、酢酸塩等の化合物を用意する。具体的には、水酸化白金(IV)酸のエタノールアミン溶液、テトラアンミン白金(II)酢酸塩、テトラアンミン白金(II)炭酸塩、テトラアンミン白金(II)硝酸塩、水酸化白金(IV)酸の硝酸溶液、硝酸白金、ジニトロジアミン白金硝酸、塩化白金(IV)酸などが挙げられる。パラジウム成分原料としては、テトラアンミンパラジウム(II)酢酸塩、テトラアンミンパラジウム(II)炭酸塩、テトラアンミンパラジウム(II)硝酸塩、ジニトロジアンミンパラジウム、硝酸パラジウム、塩化パラジウムなどが挙げられる。このほか、銀、銀塩を用いることもできる。
これらは水、有機溶媒に溶解して貴金属成分原料の溶液とする。なお、水または水に水溶性有機溶媒を加えた溶媒については以下「水系媒体」という。
Ba成分は、ハニカム構造型触媒中では酸化バリウムとして存在しうるが、触媒組成物スラリーを製造するにあたっては、バリウム化合物を微粉砕した後、単独で、あるいは母材に担持することができる。バリウムを高分散させる観点からは、可溶性の塩の形で添加することが好ましい。可溶性の塩としては、炭酸バリウム、塩化バリウム、水酸化バリウム、酢酸バリウム、硝酸バリウム等が挙げられる。
Ba成分及びMg成分は、上記の塩の中から各々1種類以上を選択できる。その際、Ba成分とMg成分の各々の出発塩の水溶液の性質(酸性、アルカリ性)を合わせた方が、母材上でより微細な粒子が得られるので好ましい。
この際、必要に応じてpH調整のための酸またはアルカリを配合することができる。また、粘性の調整やスラリー分散性を向上するための界面活性剤や分散用樹脂等を配合することもできる。
なお、本触媒には前記必須成分以外の、母材、バインダー等として公知の触媒材料を配合してもよい。このような公知の触媒材料としては、チタニア、ジルコニア、ゼオライト、アルミナ、シリカ、シリカ−アルミナ、アルカリ金属材料、アルカリ土類金属材料、遷移金属材料、希土類金属材料等が挙げられるが、これらに特に限定されない。この場合においても、必要に応じて分散剤やpH調整剤を併せて使用することができる。
2000mPa・sを超える触媒組成物スラリーでは、ウォッシュコート法によってハニカム型構造体に担持(塗工)しようとしても、高粘度のためハニカム構造体内部全体にコーティングできないことがある。このような高粘度のスラリーの粘度を下げるには水分量を増やす必要があるが、水分量を増やしたスラリーでは、一度のウォッシュコートで担持できる触媒の量が少なくなり、一種類の触媒組成物層の形成に必要な触媒量を担持するために複数回のウォッシュコートが必要になる。複数回のウォッシュコートを行うことは、生産効率上好ましいものではない。
触媒を多層に担持する場合、このウォッシュコート法を2回以上繰り返すことができる。乾燥工程前の塗工を2回以上繰り返してもよく、乾燥工程までを2回以上繰り返してもよい。
本実施形態のリーンバーン用触媒は、例えば自動車等の排気ガス流れの中に配置して使用することができる。排気ガス流れの中において、リーンバーン用触媒を単独で配置してもよいが、複数個配置してもよく、異なる作用の触媒と併用してもよい。
また複数個の触媒を使用する場合、それらの触媒は隣接して配置してもよく、例えばエンジン直下とシャーシの床下にそれぞれ配置してもよい。このとき、本実施形態のリーンバーン用触媒は、エンジン直下とシャーシの床下、そのいずれかに使用すればよく、また、双方に使用してもよい。
調製された触媒をダイアモンドカッターでモデルガス評価用触媒の大きさ(25.4mm径×50mm長さ)に切り出した後、800℃、6時間の電気炉による熱処理を実施し、モデルガス評価装置にて、下記の条件でライトオフ試験を実施した。
モデルガス評価用触媒をモデルガス評価装置のホルダーに装着した後、表5に示すガス成分をGHSV(Gas Hourly Space Velocity:気体時空間速度、触媒単位体積当たりの反応ガスの流入速度)50,000/hrで流しながら、室温から400℃まで30℃/分の速度で昇温させる。その際、CO、又はHCの酸化率が各々の数値に達した際の触媒の触媒入口ガス温度を計測した。なお、COT50は、COの50%が酸化された時の触媒の触媒床温度、HCT50は、HCの50%が酸化された時の触媒の触媒床温度である。
調製された触媒をダイアモンドカッターでモデルガス評価用触媒の大きさ(25.4mm径×50mm長さ)に切り出した後、750℃、52時間の電気炉による熱処理を実施し、モデルガス評価装置にて、下記の条件でNOx吸蔵試験を実施した。
モデルガス評価用触媒をモデルガス評価装置のホルダーに装着した後、表6に示すガス成分をGHSV(Gas Hourly Space Velocity:気体時空間速度、触媒単位体積当たりの反応ガスの流入速度)72,000/hrで流しながら評価を行った。
窒素気流中でガス温度を200℃まで昇温し、表6に示すガス<1>で2分流通した後に、表6に示すガス<2>に切り替え10分間流通させた。この際にNOxの排出量を分析し、ガス<2>に切り替え後120秒までの、NOxの入れ込み量に対してのNOxの排出量の差分を触媒に吸蔵されたNOx量であると定義し、200℃における触媒のNOx吸蔵量を下記の式(2)で算出した。

=下層=
貴金属成分原料としての塩化白金水溶液及び硝酸パラジウム溶液を、母材としてのγ−アルミナ粉末(BET値:140m2/g)に含浸担持させ、白金パラジウム担持アルミナ粉末(金属白金換算:3.4wt%、金属パラジウム換算:1.1wt%)を得た。攪拌された水に酸化セリウム粉末(BET=150m2/g)、酢酸バリウム、白金パラジウム担持アルミナ粉末を所定量計量後に添加し、湿式ミリング法によりミリングしてスラリーを得た。
このスラリーをウォッシュコート法でハニカムフロースルー型コージェライト担体(セル密度:400cel/inch2(約620k/m2)、壁厚:4.5mil(約0.14mm)、六角セル、長さ:76.2mm、直径:25.4mm)に所定担持量まで担持(塗工)し、200℃で30分乾燥させた後、大気雰囲気下、500℃で1時間焼成した。
貴金属成分原料としての硝酸ロジウム溶液を、母材としての酸化セリウム粉末(BET=150m2/g)に含浸担持させ、ロジウム担持酸化セリウム粉末(金属ロジウム換算:3.0wt%)を得た。同様に貴金属成分原料としての硝酸パラジウム溶液を、母材としての酸化セリウム粉末(BET=150m2/g)に含浸担持させ、パラジウム担持酸化セリウム粉末(金属パラジウム換算:0.9wt%)を得た。攪拌された水に所定量のプロトン置換β型ゼオライト(H−BEA型ゼオライト、BET値:700m2/g、SAR:25)、パラジウム担持酸化セリウム粉末、ロジウム担持酸化セリウム粉末を混合し、湿式ミリング法によりミリングしてスラリーを得た。
このスラリーをウォッシュコート法で先の下層が担持されたハニカムフロースルー型コージェライト担体に所定担持量(H−BEA型ゼオライト:40g/L)となるよう担持(塗工)し、200℃で30分乾燥させた後、大気雰囲気下、500℃で1時間焼成した。
このようにして得られた触媒組成を表1に記す。なお、表1中の数値は、ハニカムフロースルー型コージェライト担体の単位体積あたりの触媒担持量(g/L)であり、貴金属(白金・パラジウム・ロジウム)は金属換算の成分の重量である。
また、得られた触媒からモデルガス評価用触媒に切り出した後、750℃、52時間の電気炉による熱処理を実施し、モデルガス評価装置にて、前記の条件でNOx吸蔵試験を実施した。触媒のNOx吸蔵能測定結果は表2、図2に示した。
プロトン置換β型ゼオライトに代えてMFI型ゼオライトを用いる以外は、実施例1と同様にして比較例1の触媒を得た。この触媒の組成を表1に、また触媒のNOx吸蔵能測定結果を表2、図2に示す。
プロトン置換β型ゼオライトに代えてCHA型ゼオライトを用いる以外は、実施例1と同様にして比較例1の触媒を得た。この触媒の組成を表1に、また触媒のNOx吸蔵能測定結果を表2、図2に示す。
プロトン置換β型ゼオライトの担持量を20g/Lに変更する以外は、実施例1と同様にして実施例2の触媒を得た。この触媒の組成を表3に、また触媒の酸化性能(ライトオフ)試験の結果を表4、図3、4に示す。
プロトン置換β型ゼオライトの担持量を10g/Lに変更する以外は、実施例1と同様にして参考例1の触媒を得た。この触媒の組成を表3に、また触媒の酸化性能(ライトオフ)試験の結果を表4、図3、4に示す。
下層の白金パラジウム担持アルミナ粉末を金属白金換算:3.6wt%、金属パラジウム換算:1.2wt%として100g/L担持し、酸化セリウムの担持量を100g/Lとし、上層のロジウム担持酸化セリウム粉末を1.2wt%として50g/L担持する以外は、実施例1と同様にして実施例4の触媒を得た。この触媒の組成を表3に、また触媒の酸化性能(ライトオフ)試験の結果を表4、図3、4に示す。
=下層=
貴金属成分原料としての塩化白金水溶液及び硝酸パラジウム溶液を、母材としてのγ−アルミナ粉末(BET値:140m2/g)に含浸担持させ、白金パラジウム担持アルミナ粉末(金属白金換算:2.8wt%、金属パラジウム換算:0.8wt%)を得た。同様に貴金属成分原料としての硝酸パラジウム溶液を、母材として酸化セリウム粉末(BET=150m2/g)に含浸担持させ、パラジウム担持酸化セリウム粉末(金属パラジウム換算:0.4wt%)を得た。攪拌された水に酢酸バリウム、酸化マグネシウム、白金パラジウム担持アルミナ粉末、パラジウム担持酸化セリウム粉末を所定量計量後に添加し、湿式ミリング法によりミリングしてスラリーを得た。このスラリーを実施例1と同様にコート後、焼成した。
各成分の担持量は、白金パラジウム担持アルミナ粉末:80g/L,酸化セリウム粉末:135g/L,BaO:45g/L,MgO:15g/Lであった。
貴金属成分原料としての硝酸ロジウム溶液を、母材としての酸化セリウム粉末(BET=150m2/g)に含浸担持させ、ロジウム担持酸化セリウム粉末(金属ロジウム換算:1.2wt%)を得た。同様に貴金属成分原料としての塩化白金水溶液及び硝酸パラジウム溶液を、母材としてのγ−アルミナ粉末(BET値:140m2/g)に含浸担持させ、白金パラジウム担持アルミナ粉末(金属白金換算:3.5wt%、金属パラジウム換算:1.5wt%)を得た。攪拌された水に所定量のプロトン置換β型ゼオライト(BET値:700m2/g、SAR:25)、ロジウム担持酸化セリウム粉末、白金パラジウム担持アルミナ粉末を混合し、湿式ミリング法によりミリングしてスラリーを得た。このスラリーを実施例1と同様に焼成した。
各成分の担持量は、白金パラジウム担持アルミナ粉末:40g/L,ロジウム担持酸化セリウム粉末:50g/L,ゼオライト:40g/Lであった。
この触媒の組成を表3に、また触媒の酸化性能(ライトオフ)試験の結果を表4、図3、4に示す。
下層のパラジウム担持酸化セリウム粉末を金属パラジウム換算:0.7wt%として90g/Lの担持量とし、下層の白金パラジウム担持アルミナ粉末を金属白金換算:2.5wt%、金属パラジウム換算:0.8wt%として144g/Lの担持量とし、上層のスラリー調製時に白金パラジウム担持アルミナ粉末の配合を省略する以外は、実施例5と同様にして実施例6の触媒を得た。
この触媒の組成を表3に、また触媒の酸化性能(ライトオフ)試験の結果を表4、図3、4に示す。
下層の白金パラジウム担持アルミナ粉末を金属白金換算:3.6wt%、金属パラジウム換算:1.2wt%として100g/Lの担持量とし、下層のパラジウム担持酸化セリウム粉末を金属パラジウム換算:0.4wt%として170g/Lの担持量とする以外は、実施例5と同様にして実施例7の触媒を得た。
この触媒の組成を表3に、また触媒の酸化性能(ライトオフ)試験の結果を表4、図3、4に示す。
上層のスラリー調製時にプロトン置換β型ゼオライトの配合を省略し、下層のスラリー調製時にプロトン置換β型ゼオライトを配合して15g/Lの担持量とする以外は、実施例5と同様にして比較例3の触媒を得た。この触媒の組成を表3に、また触媒の酸化性能(ライトオフ)試験の結果を表4、図3、4に示す。
上層のスラリー調製時にプロトン置換β型ゼオライトの配合を省略し、下層のスラリー調製時にプロトン置換β型ゼオライトを配合して40g/Lの担持量とする以外は、実施例5と同様にして比較例4の触媒を得た。この触媒の組成を表3に、また触媒の酸化性能(ライトオフ)試験の結果を表4、図3、4に示す。
上層のスラリー調製時にプロトン置換β型ゼオライトの配合を省略する以外は、実施例4と同様にして比較例5の触媒を得た。この触媒の組成を表3に、また触媒の酸化性能(ライトオフ)試験の結果を表4、図3、4に示す。
以上の結果、図2から明らかなように、本発明の実施例1では、上層にBEAゼオライトを用いたことで、200〜450℃の広い範囲で優れたNOx吸蔵能を発揮した。
一方、比較例1、2では、ゼオライトを用いたがMFI型、またはCHA型であったために、NOx吸蔵能が低かった。
このことから、本発明の触媒は、軽油を燃料としたディーゼル車から高温で排気されるNOx、CO,HCの浄化に優れた機能を発揮するといえる。
Claims (9)
- 一体構造型担体と、前記一体構造型担体上に設けられ且つ少なくとも上層および下層の二層からなる、貴金属元素を含む触媒層と、を有する排気ガス浄化のためのリーンバーン用触媒において、
前記触媒層は、前記上層にプロトン置換β型ゼオライトと、ロジウムを担持したセリア系酸化物とを少なくとも含有し、
前記プロトン置換β型ゼオライトの含有量が、前記一体構造型担体の単位体積当たり、20〜70g/Lであり、
前記下層にNOx貯蔵成分と、無機酸化物に担持された白金とを少なくとも含有し、
前記触媒層中に含まれるセリア系酸化物の総含有量が、前記一体構造型担体の単位体積当たり、合計で70g/L以上であることを特徴する、
リーンバーンエンジン用触媒。 - 前記NOx貯蔵成分が、BaOとCeO2とを含有することを特徴する
請求項1に記載のリーンバーンエンジン用触媒。 - 前記下層の前記無機酸化物が、アルミナであることを特徴とする

請求項3に記載のリーンバーンエンジン用触媒。 - 前記ロジウムの含有量が、前記一体構造型担体の単位体積当たり、金属ロジウム換算で0.1〜2.0g/Lであることを特徴とする
請求項1〜4のいずれか一項に記載のリーンバーンエンジン用触媒。 - 前記白金の含有量が、前記一体構造型担体の単位体積当たり、金属白金換算で1.0〜8.0g/Lであることを特徴とする
請求項1〜5のいずれか一項に記載のリーンバーンエンジン用触媒。 - 前記排気ガスが、ディーゼル車から排出されることを特徴とする
請求項1〜6のいずれか一項に記載のリーンバーンエンジン用触媒。 - 前記下層は、前記一体構造型担体の単位体積あたり50〜200g/Lのセリア系酸化物を含有する
請求項1〜7のいずれか一項に記載のリーンバーンエンジン用触媒。 - 前記下層は、BET法にて測定されるBET比表面積が50〜250m2/gのセリアを含有する
請求項1〜8のいずれか一項に記載のリーンバーンエンジン用触媒。
