Description
本実施の形態では、本発明の一態様の表示装置及びその作製方法について、図1乃至図6を用いて説明する。
図1に、表示装置100の構成例を示す。図1(A)は、表示装置100の平面図である。また、図1(B)は、図1(A)の一点鎖線x−yにおける断面図である。
図2乃至図6を用いて、図1に示す表示装置100の作製方法の一例を示す。
本実施の形態では、本発明の一態様の表示装置であって実施の形態1と異なる構成を有する表示装置について図7を用いて説明する。具体的には、表示素子として発光素子を有する表示装置の構成例について説明する。
図7(A)は、本実施の形態の表示装置200の画素部102の一部及び端子部104を示す断面図である。なお、表示装置200の平面図は、図1(A)と同様の構成とすることができる。図7(A)に示す表示装置200は、実施の形態1に示す表示装置100における液晶素子150に変えて、発光素子170を有する表示装置である。
図7(B)は、本実施の形態の表示装置210の画素部102の一部及び端子部104を示す断面図である。なお、表示装置210の平面図は、図1(A)と同様の構成とすることができる。図7(B)に示す表示装置210は、図7(A)の表示装置200で示した、樹脂層152及び樹脂178による発光素子170の封止に変えて、発光素子の封止に絶縁層を用いた構成を有する表示装置である。
本実施の形態では、本発明の一態様の表示装置に適用可能な、端子部の他の構成例について図8を用いて説明する。
本実施の形態では、本発明の一態様の表示装置に適用可能なトランジスタの他の構成例について、図9を用いて説明する。なお、図9に示すトランジスタにおいて、実施の形態1と同様の機能を有する要素の材料、形成方法については、実施の形態1の説明を参酌することができる。
本実施の形態では、ほかの実施の形態と異なる表示装置の構成例について、図10を参照して説明する。
本実施の形態では、本発明の一態様を用いて作製することができる電子機器について、図11を用いて説明する。

- 第1の基板と、
前記第1の基板上の第1の樹脂層と、
前記第1の樹脂層上の、画素部及び端子部と、
前記端子部上の第2の樹脂層と、
前記第2の樹脂層上の第2の基板と、を有し、
前記画素部は、トランジスタと、前記トランジスタと電気的に接続された表示素子とを有し、
前記端子部は、導電層を有し、
前記第1の樹脂層は、開口部を有し、
前記導電層は、前記開口部において、前記第1の樹脂層から露出した第1の領域を有し、
前記第2の樹脂層は、前記第1の領域と重なる領域を有し、
前記導電層は、前記トランジスタのソース及びドレイン、又は、ゲートの少なくとも一方と同層の導電層であることを特徴とする表示装置。 - 第1の基板と、
前記第1の基板上の第1の樹脂層と、
前記第1の樹脂層上の、画素部及び端子部と、
前記端子部上の第2の樹脂層と、
前記画素部上及び前記端子部上の第3の樹脂層と、
前記第3の樹脂層上の第2の基板と、を有し、
前記画素部は、トランジスタと、前記トランジスタと電気的に接続された表示素子とを有し、
前記端子部は、導電層を有し、
前記第1の樹脂層は、開口部を有し、
前記導電層は、前記開口部において、前記第1の樹脂層から露出した第1の領域を有し、
前記第2の樹脂層は、前記第1の領域と重なる領域を有し、
前記導電層は、前記トランジスタのソース及びドレイン、又は、ゲートの少なくとも一方と同層の導電層であることを特徴とする表示装置。 - 請求項1又は請求項2において、
前記導電層は、第1の導電層と第2の導電層との積層構造を有し、
前記第1の導電層は、酸化物導電材料を有し、且つ前記第1の樹脂層と接する領域を有することを特徴とする表示装置。 - 請求項1乃至請求項3のいずれか一において、
前記端子部と電気的に接続されたFPCを有し、
前記FPCは、前記画素部と重なる領域を有することを特徴とする表示装置。 - 請求項4において、
前記第1の基板と前記FPCとの間に、ICチップを有する第3の基板を有し、
前記FPCは、前記ICチップを介して前記端子部と電気的に接続されることを特徴とする表示装置。 - 請求項1乃至5のいずれか一において、
前記第2の樹脂層は、シール材として機能することを特徴とする表示装置。 - 請求項1乃至5のいずれか一において、
前記第2の樹脂層は、スペーサとして機能することを特徴とする表示装置。 - 第1の基板と、
前記第1の基板上方の、端子部及び画素部と、
前記端子部上方の樹脂層と、
前記端子部及び前記画素部上方の第2の基板と、
FPCと、を有し、
前記画素部は、トランジスタと、前記トランジスタと電気的に接続された表示素子とを有し、
前記端子部は、前記トランジスタのソース及びドレイン、又は、ゲートの少なくとも一方と同層の導電層を有し、
前記FPCは、前記導電層と電気的に接続され、
前記FPCは、前記画素部と重なる領域と、前記導電層を介して前記樹脂層と重なる領域とを有することを特徴とする表示装置。
