Description
また、特許文献2の段落0023や0037等には、ワイヤボビンにおけるワイヤ電極の残量を計算して、ワイヤボビンが空状態になる前の加工工程でワイヤ電極の送りを停止させる機能を備えたワイヤ放電加工装置が示されている。
ワイヤ電極を巻回保持するワイヤボビンと、被加工物の加工部位から前記ワイヤ電極を巻き取って回収する巻取ローラと、ワイヤボビンと加工部位との間に設けられ巻取ローラとの間でワイヤ電極を緊張状態に配置するようにワイヤ電極を挟持しながら前記ワイヤボビンからワイヤ電極を引き出して被加工物に向けて連続的に送る送出ローラと、送出ローラがワイヤ電極を送り出す方向とは反対の方向に所定のトルクでワイヤボビンを回転駆動して前記ワイヤボビンにワイヤ電極の引き出しに抗する向きの負荷を与える手段とを備えたワイヤ放電加工装置において、
前記ワイヤボビンの回転速度を検出する回転速度検出手段と、
前記回転速度検出手段によって検出されたワイヤボビンの回転速度の急激な変化に基づいて、前記ワイヤボビンが空状態になったと判別する空判別手段と、
前記空判別手段が、ワイヤボビンが空状態になったと判別した際に、前記送出ローラの駆動を停止させる制御部と、
を備えたことを特徴とする

回転速度検出手段によって検出されたワイヤボビンの回転速度と、送出ローラによるワイヤ電極の送り速度とに基づいて、ワイヤボビンにおけるワイヤ電極の巻径を演算する巻径演算部がさらに設けられ、
空判別手段は、ワイヤボビンの回転速度の急激な変化を、巻径演算部が演算したワイヤ電極の巻径の急激な変化から間接的に検知するものとされる。

Claims (2)
- ワイヤ電極を巻回保持するワイヤボビンと、被加工物の加工部位から前記ワイヤ電極を巻き取って回収する巻取ローラと、前記ワイヤボビンと前記加工部位との間に設けられ前記巻取ローラとの間で前記ワイヤ電極を緊張状態に配置するように前記ワイヤ電極を挟持しながら前記ワイヤボビンから前記ワイヤ電極を引き出して前記被加工物に向けて連続的に送る送出ローラと、前記送出ローラが前記ワイヤ電極を送り出す方向とは反対の方向に所定のトルクで前記ワイヤボビンを回転駆動して前記ワイヤボビンにワイヤ電極の引き出しに抗する向きの負荷を与える手段とを備えたワイヤ放電加工装置において、
前記ワイヤボビンの回転速度を検出する回転速度検出手段と、
前記回転速度検出手段によって検出されたワイヤボビンの回転速度の急激な変化に基づいて、前記ワイヤボビンが空状態になったと判別する空判別手段と、
前記空判別手段が、ワイヤボビンが空状態になったと判別した際に、前記送出ローラの駆動を停止させる制御部と、
を備えたことを特徴とするワイヤ放電加工装置。 - 前記回転速度検出手段によって検出されたワイヤボビンの回転速度と、前記送出ローラによるワイヤ電極の送り速度とに基づいて、前記ワイヤボビンにおけるワイヤ電極の巻径を演算する巻径演算部がさらに設けられ、
前記空判別手段は、前記ワイヤボビンの回転速度の急激な変化を、前記巻径演算部が演算したワイヤ電極の巻径の急激な変化から検知するものである、
請求項1に記載のワイヤ放電加工装置。
