Claims (3)
- 映像を表示する表示部と、
レンズと、
平面状の第1の偏光板と、
平面状の第1の1/4波長板と、
平面状の第2の偏光板と、
平面状の第2の1/4波長板と、
平面状のビームスプリッタと、を含み、
前記レンズは前記表示部の表示面に対向して配置されており、
前記第1の偏光板、前記第1の1/4波長板、前記第2の偏光板、前記第2の1/4波長板、及び、前記ビームスプリッタは、前記表示部と前記レンズとの間に、前記表示部の表示面から前記レンズに向かって出射される映像光の光軸に沿って、前記表示部から前記レンズに向かって、前記第1の偏光板、前記第1の1/4波長板、前記ビームスプリッタ、前記第2の1/4波長板、前記第2の偏光板の順に、前記表示部の表示面に対向する面及び前記レンズに対向する面が前記光軸に対して垂直になるよう配置されており、
前記ビームスプリッタは、前記表示部から出射されてから前記レンズを透過するまでの間に、前記第2の偏光板で反射し、その後前記ビームスプリッタで反射する光路を経由する第1の光の空気換算光路長と、前記表示部から出射されてから前記レンズを透過するまでの間に、前記ビームスプリッタで反射し、その後前記第1の偏光板で反射する光路を経由する第2の光の空気換算光路長と、が同じとなる位置に配置されている、
ことを特徴とする表示装置。 - 前記ビームスプリッタは、前記第1の1/4波長板の前記レンズ側の面から前記ビームスプリッタのミラー面までの空気換算光路長と前記第2の1/4波長板の前記表示部側の面からビームスプリッタのミラー面までの空気換算光路長とが同じとなる位置に配置されている、
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の表示装置。 - 前記第1の偏光板は前記第1の1/4波長板と接触しており、
前記第2の偏光板は前記第2の1/4波長板と接触している、
ことを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載の表示装置。
