Description
この過電流保護装置は、
前記電源から前記電気負荷に通流する負荷電流の通流と遮断とを切換制御するスイッチング素子(11)と、
前記負荷電流を検出する電流検出部(12)と、
前記電流検出部によって検出された前記負荷電流に基づいて、前記電線の熱特性を推定する特性推定部(15)と、
前記特性推定部によって推定された前記熱特性と、前記電流検出部によって検出された前記負荷電流とに基づいて、前記負荷回路を過電流から保護するために前記負荷電流を遮断する過電流保護信号を前記スイッチング素子に出力する制御部(10)と、
を備えている。
図1を参照すると、過電流保護装置1は、電源2と負荷回路3との間に設けられることで、負荷回路3を過電流から保護するように構成されている。負荷回路3は、相互に電気接続された電気負荷3aと電線3bとを有している。
以下、本実施形態の構成による動作の概要について、同構成により奏される作用効果とともに、各図面を参照しつつ説明する。
本開示は、上記実施形態に記載された具体的例示に限定されるものではない。即ち、上記実施形態に対しては、適宜変更が可能である。以下、代表的な変形例について説明する。以下の変形例の説明においては、上記実施形態と異なる部分についてのみ説明する。また、上記実施形態と変形例とにおいて、互いに同一又は均等である部分には、同一符号が付されている。したがって、以下の変形例の説明において、上記実施形態と同一の符号を有する構成要素に関しては、技術的矛盾又は特段の追加説明なき限り、上記実施形態における説明が適宜援用され得る。

Claims (7)
- 相互に電気接続された電気負荷(3a)と電線(3b)とを有する負荷回路(3)と、電源(2)との間に設けられることで、前記負荷回路を過電流から保護するように構成された過電流保護装置(1)であって、
前記電源から前記電気負荷に通流する負荷電流の通流と遮断とを切換制御するスイッチング素子(11)と、
前記負荷電流を検出する電流検出部(12)と、
前記電流検出部によって検出された前記負荷電流の時間変化に基づいて、所定タイミングにて前記電線の熱特性を推定する特性推定部(15)と、
前記特性推定部によって推定された前記熱特性と、前記電流検出部によって検出された前記負荷電流とに基づいて、前記負荷回路を過電流から保護するために前記負荷電流を遮断する過電流保護信号を前記スイッチング素子に出力する制御部(10)と、
を備えた過電流保護装置。 - 複数の種類の前記電線における前記熱特性に関する情報を、前記種類毎に対応して格納するデータ格納部(16)をさらに備え、
前記特性推定部は、
前記電流検出部によって検出された前記負荷電流の前記時間変化に基づいて、前記電線の前記種類を推定し、
推定した前記種類に対応する前記熱特性を、前記電線の前記熱特性として推定する、
請求項1に記載の過電流保護装置。 - 前記データ格納部には、前記複数の種類の前記電線の前記熱特性が格納されている、
請求項2に記載の過電流保護装置。 - 前記データ格納部には、前記複数の種類の前記電線について、通流可能な電流値と通流時間とに関する情報が格納されている、
請求項2または3に記載の過電流保護装置。 - 前記電線の周囲温度に対応する出力を発生する温度検出部(14)をさらに備え、
前記特性推定部は、前記電流検出部によって検出された前記負荷電流の前記時間変化と、前記周囲温度とに基づいて、前記電線の前記熱特性を推定する、
請求項1〜4のいずれか1つに記載の過電流保護装置。 - 前記電源の出力電圧である電源電圧を検出する電圧検出部(13)をさらに備え、
前記特性推定部は、前記電流検出部によって検出された前記負荷電流の前記時間変化と、前記電源電圧とに基づいて、前記電線の前記熱特性を推定する、
請求項1〜5のいずれか1つに記載の過電流保護装置。 - 前記電気負荷は車載負荷であり、
前記電線は車両用ワイヤハーネスである、
