Description
本発明の多層構造において使用される二軸配向ポリエチレンフィルムは、直鎖状低密度ポリエチレン(LLDPE)を含む。適切なLLDPEとしては、チーグラー・ナッタ触媒による直鎖状低密度ポリエチレン、シングルサイト触媒(メタロセンを含む)による直鎖状低密度ポリエチレン(mLLDPE)、及び中密度ポリエチレン(MDPE)(MDPEが0.940g/cm3以下の密度を有する限り)、ならびに前述のうち2つ以上の組み合わせが挙げられる。これらのポリエチレン樹脂は、当該分野で一般的に知られている。本出願での使用に特に適したLLDPE樹脂を、以下の3つのパラメータで特徴付けることができる。
本発明の多層構造に使用されるシーラントフィルムは、初めに二軸配向ポリエチレンフィルムとは別個に形成される。それ故に、シーラントフィルムは二軸配向されるのではなく、二軸配向ポリエチレンフィルムに積層される。
本発明の実施形態では、シーラントフィルムは、接着剤層と共に二軸配向ポリエチレンフィルムに積層される。明確には、接着剤層は、共押出中にポリエチレンフィルムとシーラントフィルムとの間に含まれ得るタイ層ではない。むしろ、上記に記載されるように、二軸配向ポリエチレンフィルム及びシーラントフィルムは個別に形成され、接着剤層と共に積層される。
シーラントフィルム
4つの3層シーラントフィルムを、従来のポリエチレンインフレーションフィルムプロセスにより製造した。表1は、シーラントフィルムの構造を提供する。
二軸配向ポリエチレンフィルムも調製した。フィルムに使用したポリエチレン化合物を、以下の通り調製した。第1のポリエチレンを、二重重合反応器系において調製した。表4は、二重反応器ポリエチレン組成物(PE組成物)の反応器条件を提供する。反応器2の生成物の特性は、反応器1の生成物及び最終生成物の特性に基づき計算される。
表1のシーラントフィルムのそれぞれが、上記に記載される二軸配向ポリエチレンフィルム(BOPE)に接着剤と共に積層され、表9の多層構造を形成した。
試験方法は以下のものを含む。
ポリマー結晶化度は、示差走査熱量測定、及び他の分析法によって測定され得る。エチレンホモポリマーまたはエチレンα−オレフィンコポリマー、及び本明細書の実施例のために、結晶化度が以下の計算式によってその密度から計算され得る。
メルトインデックス(I2)は、190℃及び2.16kgで、ASTM D−1238に従って測定される。
ホットタック試験機(Model 4000、J&B Corp.)が、引張なし「シールのみ」の方式において使用される。ヒートシール強度測定を実施するための、シールパラメータは以下の通りである。試料ストリップの幅=1インチ、シール時間=0.5秒、シール圧力=0.275MPa。次いで、シール試料ストリップを、制御された環境下(23±2℃、55±5相対湿度)で24時間エージングさせる。その後、500mm/分の引張速度で、引張機(Type5943、INSTRON Corp.)でシール強度を試験する。最大負荷がシール強度として記録される。それぞれのデータポイントは、5つの平行試料ストリップを平均した結果である。ヒートシール開始温度は、フィルムが10N/インチのヒートシール強度を示す時点の最低温度である。
試料ストリップは、ヒートシール強度試験方法に明記されたシールパラメータ下でシールされる。シール試料ストリップを、制御された環境下(23±2℃、55±5相対湿度)で24時間エージングさせる。その後、図1に図示されているように、試料ストリップのシール部分の最短幅が測定される。以下の計算式によって、収縮比が計算される。
ポリマーの分子量を、形状因子が1であり、かつすべてのビリアル係数がゼロであると仮定して、レイリー・ガンズ・デバイ近似法(A.M.Striegel and W.W.Yau,Modern Size−Exclusion Liquid Chromatography,2nd Edition,Page 242 and Page 263,2009)に従ってLS(90度での光散乱、Precision Detectors)及び濃度検出器(IR−4、Polymer Char)から直接決定することができる。ベースラインをLS(90度)及びIR−4(測定チャネル)クロマトグラムから差し引く。全樹脂の場合、積分窓を、すべてのクロマトグラムを25.5〜118℃の溶出温度範囲(温度較正は上で特定されている)で積分するように設定する。高密度画分を、CEFにおける95.0℃を超える溶出温度を有する画分と定義する。MWHDF>95及びIHDF>95の測定は、以下のステップを含む。
Claims (10)
- 多層構造であって、
(a)0.910〜0.940g/cm3の密度を有する直鎖状低密度ポリエチレンを含む二軸配向ポリエチレンフィルムであって、ASTM D882に従って測定した場合、前記二軸配向ポリエチレンフィルムの縦方向における極限伸びが、横方向における極限伸びよりも少なくとも2倍大きく、ASTM D882に従って測定した場合、縦方向及び横方向のうちの少なくとも1つにおいて、前記二軸配向ポリエチレンフィルムの極限引張強度が少なくとも60MPaである、二軸配向ポリエチレンフィルムと、
(b)接着剤層と、
(c)シーラントフィルムと、を備え、ASTM D882に従って測定した場合、縦方向及び横方向のうちの少なくとも1つにおいて、前記シーラントフィルムの極限伸びが少なくとも300%であり、ASTM D882に従って測定した場合、縦方向及び横方向のうちの少なくとも1つにおいて、前記シーラントフィルムの極限引張強度が50MPa未満であり、前記シーラントフィルムが105℃以下のヒートシール開始温度を有し、
前記シーラントフィルムが、前記接着剤によって前記二軸配向ポリエチレンフィルムに積層される、多層構造。 - 前記シーラントフィルムが、少なくとも30重量%のポリオレフィンプラストマー、ポリオレフィンエラストマー、超低密度ポリエチレン、エチレンアセテートコポリマー、エチレンアクリル酸コポリマー、またはエチレンアクリレートコポリマーを含む少なくとも1つの層を備える、請求項1に記載の多層構造。
- 多層構造であって、
(a)0.910〜0.940g/cm3の密度を有する直鎖状低密度ポリエチレンを含む二軸配向ポリエチレンフィルムと、
(b)接着剤層と、
(c)少なくとも30重量%のポリオレフィンプラストマー、ポリオレフィンエラストマー、超低密度ポリエチレン、エチレンアセテートコポリマー、エチレンアクリル酸コポリマー、またはエチレンアクリレートコポリマーを含む少なくとも1つの層を備えるシーラントフィルムと、を備え、ASTM D882に従って測定した場合、縦方向及び横方向のうちの少なくとも1つにおいて、前記シーラントフィルムの極限伸びが少なくとも300%であり、ASTM D882に従って測定した場合、縦方向及び横方向のうちの少なくとも1つにおいて、前記シーラントフィルムの極限引張強度が50MPa未満であり、前記シーラントフィルムが105℃以下のヒートシール開始温度を有し、
前記シーラントフィルムが、前記接着剤によって前記二軸配向ポリエチレンフィルムに積層される、多層構造。 - 前記シーラントフィルムの第1の層が、少なくとも50重量%のポリオレフィンプラストマー、ポリオレフィンエラストマー、超低密度ポリエチレン、エチレンアセテートコポリマー、エチレンアクリル酸コポリマー、またはエチレンアクリレートコポリマーを含む、請求項2または請求項3に記載の多層構造。
- 第2の二軸配向ポリエチレンフィルム、第2の接着剤層、インフレーション、流延、または水中急冷法によって作製されたポリオレフィン系フィルム、二軸配向ポリアミドフィルム、二軸配向ポリプロピレンフィルム、二軸配向グリコール修飾ポリエチレンテレフタレート、ポリ塩化ビニリデンフィルム、及び箔のうちの少なくとも1つをさらに備える、請求項1〜4のいずれかに記載の多層構造。
- 前記シーラントフィルムが、95℃以下のヒートシール開始温度を有し、及び/または前記多層構造が少なくとも15℃のシールウィンドウを示す、請求項1〜5のいずれかに記載の多層構造。
- 前記シーラントフィルムが、30〜120マイクロメートルの厚さを有し、及び/または前記二軸配向ポリエチレンフィルムが、10〜60マイクロメートルの厚さを有する、請求項1〜6のいずれかに記載の多層構造。
- 前記二軸配向ポリエチレンフィルムが、高密度ポリエチレン、低密度ポリエチレン、超低密度ポリエチレン、ポリエチレンプラストマー、ポリエチレンエラストマー、エチレン酢酸ビニルコポリマー、エチレンアクリル酸エチルコポリマー、及び少なくとも50%のエチレンモノマーを含む任意のポリマーのうちの少なくとも1つをさらに含む、請求項1〜7のいずれかに記載の多層構造。
- 前記二軸配向ポリエチレンフィルムが、縦方向において2:1〜6:1の延伸比で、横方向において2:1〜9:1の延伸比で配向される、請求項1〜8のいずれかに記載の多層構造。
- 請求項1〜9のいずれかの多層構造を含む物品。
