Description
[外観の構成]
図1は、本実施形態に係る表示装置100の外観の構成を説明する斜視図である。図1を用いて、本実施形態に係る表示装置100の外観の構成について説明する。
図2は、本実施形態に係る表示装置100の回路構成を説明する回路図である。図2では、表示装置100の表示に係る回路構成について示している。尚、表示装置100の各種センサに係る回路構成については後述する。
図3は、本実施形態に係る表示装置100のセンサ部分の構成を説明する平面図である。図4Aは、本実施形態に係る表示装置100の構成を説明する断面図であり、図3のI−I´の断面を示している。図4Bは、本実施形態に係る表示装置100のタッチセンサ部分Aの構成を説明する拡大断面図である。図4Cは、本実施形態に係る表示装置100の画素部分Bの構成を説明する拡大断面図である。尚、図4Aにおいては、説明の便宜上画素のスケールを実際よりも大きく示している。実際は、画素110のスケールは、後述する第3電極層138のパターンに比べて十分に小さい。
第1電極層134、第2電極層136、及び圧電材料層142は、曲げセンサを構成する。図5に示すように、第1電極層134と第2電極層136とは、それぞれ第1アンプ回路156の入力端子に接続されている。曲げセンサは、基板の曲げ方向及び曲げ量を検出する。
第2電極層136、第3電極層138、及び可撓性材料層140は、押圧センサを構成する。図5に示すように、第2電極層136と第3電極層138とは、それぞれ第2アンプ回路158の入力端子に接続されている。押圧センサは、表示領域104aに重畳する領域に加えられた押圧を検出する。
第3電極層138は、タッチセンサを構成する。図5に示すように、第3電極層138の駆動電極Txと検出電極Rxとは、それぞれ第3アンプ回路160の入力端子に接続されている。尚、第3アンプ回路160は、複数の駆動電極と複数の検出電極との組み合わせの数だけ設けられるが、ここではその内の一つのみを代表して示している。タッチセンサは、複数の電極間の相互容量によって、表示領域104aに重畳する領域への導体の接触を検出する。
本実施形態に係る表示装置の応用例について説明する。図7は、本実施形態に係る表示装置の応用例について説明する斜視図である。図7の上段は、表示面側が凸となるように屈曲させた状態を示し、下段は、表示面側が凹となるように屈曲させた状態を示している。これらの状態において、表示面側が凸となるように屈曲させた場合には表示画像が拡大し、表示面側が凹となるように屈曲させた場合には表示画像が縮小する態様を示している。このように、曲げセンサによって検出された曲げの大きさに連動して、表示画像を拡大又は縮小させてもよい。
[構成の詳細]
図8は、本実施形態に係る表示装置200のセンサ部分の構成を説明する平面図である。図9は、本実施形態に係る表示装置200の概略構成を説明する断面図であり、図8のI−I´の断面を示している。本実施形態に係る表示装置200は、第1実施形態に係る表示装置100と比べると、第1電極の構成のみが異なっている。
本実施形態に係る表示装置の応用例について説明する。図10は、本実施形態に係る表示装置の応用例について説明する斜視図である。図10は、表示装置200の一端部近傍を筒状に丸めた状態を示している。この状態において、表示領域104aにおいて視認可能な領域のみに画像が表示される態様を示している。つまり、表示領域104aにおいて、表示装置200を筒状に丸めることによって視認することが不可能となった領域は、非表示としている。このように、表示領域104aの各領域において検出された曲げの大きさに連動して、当該領域を表示又は非表示に切り替えてもよい。
Claims (6)
- 可撓性を有し、表示領域が配置された基板と、
前記表示領域に、マトリクス状に配列された複数の画素と、
前記表示領域上に設けられた第1電極層と、
前記第1電極層上に設けられた第2電極層と、
前記第2電極層上に設けられた第3電極層と、
前記第1電極層と前記第2電極層との間に設けられた圧電材料層と、
前記第2電極層と前記第3電極層との間に設けられた可撓性材料層とを備え、
前記第1電極層、前記第2電極層、及び前記圧電材料層は、前記基板の曲げ方向及び曲げ量を検出する曲げセンサを構成し、
前記第2電極層、前記第3電極層、及び前記可撓性材料層は、前記表示領域に重畳する領域に加えられた押圧を検出する押圧センサを構成し、
前記第3電極層は、マトリクス状に配置された複数の電極を有し、前記複数の電極間の相互容量によって、前記表示領域に重畳する領域への導体の接触を検出するタッチセンサを構成する、表示装置。 - 前記第1電極層、前記第2電極層、及び前記第3電極層は、透明導電層を含むことを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の表示装置。
- 前記第1電極層、前記第2電極層、及び前記第3電極層は、前記複数の画素の各々に重畳する領域に開口部を有する金属層を含むことを特徴とする、請求項2記載の表示装置。
- 前記第1電極層は、行方向又は列方向に分割された複数の電極を有することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の表示装置。
- 第1フレーム期間において前記タッチセンサを駆動し、
第2フレーム期間において前記押圧センサを駆動し、
第3フレーム期間において前記曲げセンサを駆動する時分割駆動を行うことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の表示装置。 - 前記第1フレーム期間と前記第3フレーム期間とは、重畳する期間を有することを特徴とする請求項5に記載の表示装置。
