Description
また、電極体40から外装缶12への電流回路を形成することによって、内部短絡時の電池温度の急激な上昇を抑制する効果を把握する目的で、満充電状態の電池を用いて先端が鋭利な金属部材を貫通させることによる内部短絡試験を行った。試験方法としては、まず、電池を環境温度25℃にて、1.0C(時間率)の定電流で電池電圧が4.2Vになるまで充電を行い、その後定電圧で電流値が0.05Cになるまで充電を引き続き行った。次に、電池温度が65℃の環境下で、電極体40の積層方向に沿った電池の側面中央部に3mmφの太さで先端が鋭利になった丸釘の先端を接触させた。その後、丸釘を80mm/secの速度で電極体40の積層方向と垂直な方向に突き刺し、丸釘が完全に電池を貫通した時点で丸釘の突き刺しを停止させた。突き刺し後の電池温度の挙動として、電池表面に熱電対を接触させて電池温度を測定した。電池温度としては、突き刺し後10秒経過時の電池温度を評価した。
Claims (3)
- 導電性を有する外装缶と、前記外装缶に収容されている電極体と、前記外装缶の開口端部を密閉していて導電性を有する封口板と、前記封口板に設けられている外部端子と、を備える非水電解質二次電池であって、
前記外部端子と前記電極体とを電気的に接続する導電経路の途中に、電池内圧が上昇したときに電気的接続を遮断するための電流遮断機構をさらに備え、
前記電流遮断機構は、前記封口板の薄肉部と、電池内圧の上昇に伴い前記外部端子と前記電極体との電気的接続を遮断するように変形するダイアフラムとを含み、
前記封口板は、全体が導電性の材料からなり直接接合により前記外装缶の開口端部を密閉しており、
前記電極体は、集電リード及び前記封口板を介して前記外装缶と電気的に接続されており、前記ダイアフラムは前記封口板を介して電気的に前記集電リードに接続されている、非水電解質二次電池。 - 前記集電リードが前記封口板に一体的に接続されている、請求項1に記載の非水電解質二次電池。
- 前記ダイアフラムは、前記封口板において前記薄肉部の前記外部端子側に配置されている、請求項1又は請求項2に記載の非水電解質二次電池。
