として表されることができる。本明細書で開示される幾つかの本実施形態では、特定の種類の添加剤を含むように調製された電解質溶液が、電池のエネルギー密度、容量及びサイクル寿命を向上させることができる。
電池セル組立
高純度アルゴンを充填したグローブボックス(M−Braun社、O2及び水分の含有量<0.1ppm)内で複数の電池セルを形成した。LiNi0.4Mn0.4Co0.2O2(NMC)カソード材料及びケイ素合金アノードを使用した。各電池セルは、複合カソード膜、ポリプロピレンセパレータ、及び複合アノード膜を含む。複数の電解質成分を配合して、電池セルに加えた。
NMC//Siセルのための形成サイクルは、開放電流電圧(OCV)のまま12時間、次に定電圧(CV)がC/20のまま4.2VへC/10充電し、次に2.8VへC/10放電する。CVがC/20のまま4.2VへC/5充電し、次に2.8VへC/5放電することにより、サイクルを続けた。
表1には、EC含有配合物中の添加剤が示され、結果として、添加剤のないEC系カーボネート電解質(エチレンカーボネート/エチルメチルカーボネート(EC/EMC))と比較して、向上した又は類似のクーロン効率(CE)と向上したサイクル寿命が示される。1MのLiPF6を有するEC/EMC(体積比1:2)に、表示された質量%で添加剤を配合した。全ての結果は2つのセルの平均値である。NMC//ケイ素セルにおいて、表示された添加剤を含む電解質配合物によって、添加剤のないEC/EMC対照物と比較して、50サイクルで容量維持率が最大3%向上した。

Claims (7)
- 第一の電極と、
ケイ素を活物質として含む第二の電極と、
リチウム塩、有機溶媒混合物、及び添加剤から形成された電解質溶液と、
を含むリチウムイオン電池であって、前記添加剤が、少なくとも2.0質量%の硝酸リチウムを含み、かつ前記リチウムイオン電池が、充放電試験の50サイクル目で99.3%以上のクーロン効率(CE)を有する、リチウムイオン電池。 - 前記有機溶媒混合物が、エチレンカーボネートを含まない、請求項1に記載のリチウムイオン電池。
- 前記有機溶媒混合物が、プロピレンカーボネートを含む、請求項1に記載のリチウムイオン電池。
- 前記第一の電極がリチウム及びマンガンを含む、請求項1に記載のリチウムイオン電池。
- 前記第一の電極がリチウム、マンガン、及びニッケルを含む、請求項1に記載のリチウムイオン電池。
- 前記第一の電極がリチウム、マンガン、ニッケル、及びコバルトを含む、請求項1に記載のリチウムイオン電池。
- 前記第一の電極がLiNi0.4Mn0.4Co0.2O2を含む、請求項6に記載のリチウムイオン電池。
