Description
(1)断熱コーティング組成物の製造
エチルアルコールに分散した多孔性シリカエアロゲル(比表面積約500cm3/g)、界面活性剤としてPluonic10200(BASF社製造)、および水を混合し、水に分散したシリケートと共に、20g反応器に注入し、ジルコニアビーズを添加(440g)し、常温および常圧力の条件下、150〜300rpmの速度でボールミリングして、断熱コーティング組成物(コーティング溶液)を製造した。
(2)断熱コーティング層の形成
前記得られた断熱コーティング組成物をスプレーコーティング方式で自動車エンジン用ピストンに塗布した。そして、約150℃で約10分間一次半乾燥を進行させた後に、前記断熱コーティング組成物を再塗布し、約150℃で約10分間二次半乾燥を進行させた。前記二次半乾燥後に、前記断熱コーティング組成物を再度塗布し、約250℃で約60分間完全乾燥を進行させて、前記ピストン上に断熱コーティング層を形成した。
下記表1に示されているように、界面活性剤としてPluronic10200の代わりにラウリル硫酸ナトリウム(SDS)を用いた点を除いて、実施例1と同様の方法で断熱コーティング組成物および断熱コーティング層を製造した。
前記実施例および比較例で得られた断熱コーティング層の物性を下記方法で測定し、その結果を表2に示した。
前記実施例および比較例で得られたピストン上の断熱コーティング層に対して、ASTM E1461に基づいて、常温および常圧の条件下、レーザフラッシュ法を利用して熱拡散測定方法で熱伝導度を測定した。
実験例2:密度の測定
前記実施例および比較例で得られた断熱コーティング層に対して、密度天秤(Sartorius、YDK)により、アルコールと水がコーティング層に吸収されて浮力に影響を与える程度で密度を測定した。
実験例3:体積熱容量の測定
前記実施例および比較例で得られたピストン上の断熱コーティング層に対して、ASTM E1269に基づいて、常温の条件下、DSC装置を用いてサファイアをレファレンスとして比熱を測定して体積熱容量を確認した。
実験例4:混和性の測定
前記実施例および比較例で得られた断熱コーティング層に対して、外観を確認してクラックの存在の有無を確認した。
前記実施例および比較例の実験例結果を下記表2に記載した。
反面、前記比較例1で得られた断熱コーティング層は、イオン性界面活性剤を用いることにより、クラックが存在して混和性が十分でない問題があることが確認された。
Claims (13)
- 炭素数1〜5のアルキレンオキシド繰り返し単位を含む重合体であって、親水性を示す部分と疎水性を示す部分との双方を含んでなる、両親性を有する重合体;エアロゲル;および水溶性バインダー;を含み、
前記重合体は、全体断熱コーティング組成物に対して0.05重量%〜0.7重量%含まれ、
前記重合体は、500〜30,000の重量平均分子量を有し、
前記重合体は、炭素数1〜50の直鎖もしくは分枝鎖のアルキル基、炭素数1〜50のアシル基、炭素数1〜50のエステル基、炭素数6〜50のアリール基、炭素数6〜50のアラルキル基、炭素数6〜50のアルキルアリール基、炭素数6〜50のシクロアルキル基、および炭素数3〜20のアルキレンオキシド繰り返し単位からなる群より選択された1種以上の長さ調節部を含み、
前記エアロゲルは、100℃以下の沸点を有する低沸点有機溶媒または水系溶媒に分散したエアロゲルを含み、
前記水溶性バインダーは水系溶媒に分散している断熱コーティング組成物であって、
当該断熱コーティング組成物から得られる断熱コーティング層に含まれるエアロゲルの内部には前記水溶性バインダーが2重量%以下で存在し、前記エアロゲルの表面から最長直径の5%以上の深さには前記水溶性バインダーが存在しない断熱コーティング層を形成する断熱コーティング組成物であることを特徴とする、断熱コーティング組成物。 - 前記重合体は、炭素数1〜5のアルキレンオキシド繰り返し単位を2重量%〜50重量%含む、請求項1に記載の断熱コーティング組成物。
- 前記炭素数1〜5のアルキレンオキシド繰り返し単位は、下記化学式1で表される繰り返し単位を含む、請求項1に記載の断熱コーティング組成物:
- 前記炭素数3〜20のアルキレンオキシド繰り返し単位を含む長さ調節部は、2000〜4000の重量平均分子量を有する、請求項1に記載の断熱コーティング組成物。
- 前記低沸点有機溶媒中の前記エアロゲルの固形分含有量が5重量%〜75重量%である、請求項1に記載の断熱コーティング組成物。
- 前記水溶性バインダーは、シリコン系化合物または高分子樹脂を含む、請求項1に記載の断熱コーティング組成物。
- 前記水系溶媒中の前記水溶性バインダーの固形分含有量が5重量%〜75重量%である、請求項1に記載の断熱コーティング組成物。
- 内燃機関の内部面または内燃機関の部品のコーティングに使用される、請求項1に記載の断熱コーティング組成物。
- 前記請求項1〜8のいずれか1項に記載の断熱コーティング組成物から得られた断熱コーティング層であって、
前記断熱コーティング層に含まれるエアロゲルの内部には水溶性バインダーが2重量%以下で存在し、
前記エアロゲルの表面から最長直径の5%以上の深さには水溶性バインダーが存在しない、0.40W/m以下の熱伝導度を有することを特徴とする、断熱コーティング層。 - 0.45〜1.0g/mlの密度を有する、請求項9に記載の断熱コーティング層。
- 50μm〜500μmの厚さを有する、請求項9に記載の断熱コーティング層。
- 3000KJ/m3K以下の体積熱容量を有する、請求項9に記載の断熱コーティング層。
- 内燃機関の内部面または内燃機関の部品上に形成される、請求項9に記載の断熱コーティング層。
