Description
本出願の一実施態様による光変換素子は、光源、及び前記光源の一面に備えられた光変換フィルムを含み、前記光変換フィルムは1種以上の有機蛍光染料を含む第1光変換フィルム、及び前記第1光変換フィルムより光源に近く配置され、1種以上の有機蛍光染料を含む第2光変換フィルムを含み、光源からの光照射時に第2光変換フィルムの最大発光波長が第1光変換フィルムの最大発光波長より短いことを特徴とする。図1に本出願の一実施態様による光変換素子の積層構造を例示した。図1によれば、光源の一面に光変換フィルムが備えられ、光変換フィルムは、透明基板、及び前記透明基板上に備えられた、1種以上の有機蛍光染料を含む第1光変換フィルム及び第2光変換フィルムを含む。図1によれば、透明基板が第2光変換フィルムと接して図示されているが、透明基板は第1光変換フィルムに接して配置されてもよい。前記透明基板はPET等のような樹脂を含むことができるが、これに限定されるものではない。図1によれば、第1光変換フィルムと第2光変換フィルムが接して配置されたものとして図示されているが、これらの間には必要により粘着剤層または接着剤層が備えられてもよい。
全体溶液の重量に対して10重量%のPVA(ポリビニルアルコール)が水に溶けられているPVA溶液に、PVA 100重量部に対して各々0.3重量部のピレン系緑色蛍光染料であるピラニンと3重量部のチタニウムオキシド系光拡散剤を添加し攪拌して組成物を製造し、この組成物をプラスチック基材上に乾燥後の厚さが10マイクロメータになるように塗布した後、100℃の乾燥オーブンで10分間熱風乾燥して緑色光変換フィルムを製造した。
全体溶液の重量に対して25重量%のSAN(スチレン−アクリロニトリル共重合体)がトルエンに溶けられているSAN溶液に、SAN 100重量部に対して各々0.5重量部のピロール系緑色蛍光染料であるボディピー(BODIPY)と3重量部のチタニウムオキシド系光拡散剤を添加し攪拌して組成物を製造し、この組成物をプラスチック基材上に乾燥後の厚さが10マイクロメータになるように塗布した後、140℃の乾燥オーブンで15分間熱風乾燥して緑色光変換フィルムを製造した。
前記実施例2と同様の組成と方法を利用するが、赤色蛍光染料組成物をプラスチック基材上に先に塗布して赤色光変換フィルムを製作し、前記赤色光変換フィルム上に緑色蛍光染料を塗布して白色光変換素子を製造した後、赤色光変換フィルムが青色光源に近接するように配置した後、PR−705スペクトルスキャンを用いて図16の分光スペクトルを得た。前記光変換素子の分光スペクトルから得たwhite色座標値CIE 1976座標に示した結果を図17に示す。

- 光源、及び光源の一面に備えられた光変換フィルムを含み、前記光変換フィルムは1種以上の有機蛍光染料を含む第1光変換フィルム、及び前記第1光変換フィルムより光源に近く配置され、1種以上の有機蛍光染料を含む第2光変換フィルムを含み、光源からの光照射時の第2光変換フィルムの最大発光波長が第1光変換フィルムの最大発光波長より短く、
前記第1光変換フィルム及び前記第2光変換フィルムが各々互いに対向する面の反対面に各々備えられたバリアーフィルム、
前記各々備えられたバリアーフィルムが各々互いに対向する面の反対面に各々備えられた透明基板、及び、
光源側の前記透明基板の前記光変換フィルムに対向する面の反対面に備えられた光抽出板をさらに含み、
前記バリアーフィルムは、水分及び酸素のうち少なくとも一つの透過度が10−1cc/m2/day以下のバリアー層を含む、

- 前記有機蛍光染料は、半値幅(FWHM)が60nm以下であり、モル吸光係数(molecular absorption coefficient)が50,000〜150,000M−1cm−1である、請求項1に記載の 光変換素子。
- 前記第1または前記第2光変換フィルムは光拡散粒子をさらに含む、請求項1に記載の光変換素子。
- 請求項1から4のいずれか1項に記載の光変換素子を含むバックライトユニット。
- 請求項5に記載のバックライトユニットを含むディスプレイ装置。
