Description
〔1〕 下記の式(1)で示される非水系分散剤。
Rは炭素数1〜22の直鎖あるいは分岐鎖状の炭化水素基である。
A1Oはオキシエチレン基であり、mはA1Oで示されるオキシエチレン基の平均付加モル数であり、1〜30である。
A2Oは炭素数3〜4のオキシアルキレン基であり、nはA2Oで示されるオキシアルキレン基の平均付加モル数であり、1〜30である。
mとnは、0.1≦m/n≦10、かつ、5≦m+n≦40の関係を満たす。
aは芳香環の数であり、1〜2である。
Mは水素原子、アンモニウムまたはアルカノールアンモニウムを示す。)
本発明の非水系分散剤は、下記の式(1)で示されるポリエーテルとトリカルボン酸無水物からなるポリエーテルエステル化合物を含有する。なお、式(1)で示されるポリエーテルとトリカルボン酸無水物からなるエステル化合物を以下では単に「ポリエーテルエステル系化合物」とも言う。
a=1の場合の化学式を式(1A)に示し、a=2の場合の化学式を式(1B)に示す。
式(1)で示されるポリエーテルエステル系化合物は、ポリエーテルを製造する第一の工程と第一の工程で得られたポリエーテルとトリカルボン酸無水物を反応させる第二の工程とから製造することができる。
炭素数が1から22の直鎖あるいは分岐鎖状の炭化水素基を有するアルコールに、アルキレンオキサイドを付加させることによってポリエーテルを製造することができる。
第二の工程で使用されるトリカルボン酸無水物としてはトリメリット酸無水物、1,2,3−ベンゼントリカルボン酸無水物、1,2,5−ナフタレントリカルボン酸無水物、1,4,5−ナフタレントリカルボン酸無水物、2,3,6−ナフタレントリカルボン酸無水物、1,2,8−ナフタレントリカルボン酸無水物の芳香族トリカルボン酸無水物が挙げられる。
本発明の非水系分散体組成物は、非水系分散剤、分散体、および非水系溶媒を含有する。
この場合、非水系分散剤の含有量は、0.05〜20質量%が好ましい。非水系分散剤の含有量が0.05質量%未満であると、十分な初期分散性および分散安定性が得られないおそれがあり、含有量が20質量%を超えても含有量に見合う効果が得られないおそれがある。非水系分散剤の含有量は、初期分散性および分散安定性の観点から、好ましくは0.1〜15質量%であり、さらに好ましくは0.5〜10質量%である。
攪拌機、圧力計、温度計、安全弁、ガス吹き込み管、排気管、冷却用コイル、および蒸気ジャケットを装備したステンレス製の5リットル容の耐圧容器に3,5,5−トリメチル−1−ヘキサノール(商品名:ノナノール、KHネオケム株式会社製)288g(2mol)および水酸化カリウム2gを仕込み、窒素置換後、攪拌しながら120℃に昇温した。攪拌下、120℃、0.05〜0.50MPa(ゲージ圧)の条件で、別に用意した耐圧容器からエチレンオキサイド705g(16mol)を、ガス吹き込み管を通して、窒素ガスにより加圧しながら添加した。添加終了後、同条件で内圧が一定となるまで反応させた。続いて上記方法にて、プロピレンオキサイド349g(6mol)を添加し、添加終了後、同条件で内圧が一定となるまで反応させた。その後、耐圧容器から反応物を取り出し、塩酸で中和して、pH6〜7とし、含有する水分を除去するため、100℃、1時間、減圧処理を行い、最後に濾過により塩を除去して、1270gのポリエーテルを得た。得られたポリエーテルの水酸基価は84であり、水酸基価から求められる分子量は668であった。
合成したポリエーテルエステル系化合物1〜7を表1に、化合物8を式(2)に示した。
ポリエーテルエステル系化合物1〜8を分散剤として用いて、下記のとおり、非水系分散体組成物を調製した。
50mLスクリュー管に、チタン酸バリウム粉体(平均粒径:0.05μm、SEMを用いた電子顕微鏡法により測定)20.0g、プロピレングリコールモノメチルエーテルアセテート5.0g、および分散剤1.4gを秤量し、自転公転型ミキサーで5分間攪拌して、予備分散を行った。その後、0.5mmのジルコニアビーズを用いて、ビーズミルで4時間分散することによりスラリー状の非水系分散体組成物を得た。なお、プロピレングリコールモノメチルエーテルアセテートのSP値は8.7(cal/cm3)1/2である。
ポリエーテルエステル系化合物1〜5を用いて得られた非水系分散体組成物を実施例1〜5とし、ポリエーテルエステル系化合物6〜8を用いて得られた非水系分散体組成物を比較例1〜3とした。
実施例1〜5および比較例1〜3の非水系分散体組成物を用いて、分散試験を行った。
各非水系分散体組成物について、動的粘弾性装置(Paar Physica MCR−300、Anton Paar社製)を用いて、温度20℃、せん断速度が0.1〜100(1/s)に対するせん断粘度を測定した。せん断速度が1(1/s)の時のせん断粘度を表2に示した。
ポリエーテルエステル系化合物1〜4、6、7、8を分散剤として用いて、下記のとおり、非水系分散体組成物を調製した。なお、ポリエーテルエステル系化合物1〜4を用いて得られた非水系分散体組成物を実施例6〜9とし、ポリエーテルエステル系化合物6〜8を用いて得られた非水系分散体組成物を比較例4〜6とした。
実施例6〜9および比較例4〜6の非水系分散体組成物を用いて、分散試験を行った。
各非水系分散体組成物について、動的粘弾性装置(Paar Physica MCR−300、Anton Paar社製)を用いて、温度20℃、せん断速度が0.1〜100(1/s)に対するせん断粘度を測定した。せん断速度が1(1/s)の時のせん断粘度を表3に示した。
また室温で1週間静置した各非水系分散体組成物のせん断粘度を同一の条件で測定した。せん断速度が1(1/s)の時のせん断粘度を併せて表3に示した。
ポリエーテルエステル系化合物1、3、4、6、7、8を分散剤として用いて、下記のとおり、非水系分散体組成物を調製した。なお、ポリエーテルエステル系化合物1、3、4を用いて得られた非水系分散体組成物を実施例10〜12とし、ポリエーテルエステル系化合物6〜8を用いて得られた非水系分散体組成物を比較例7〜9とした。
実施例10〜12および比較例7〜9の非水系分散体組成物を用いて、分散試験を行った。
各非水系分散体組成物について、動的粘弾性装置(Paar Physica MCR−300、Anton Paar社製)を用いて、温度20℃、せん断速度が0.1〜100(1/s)に対するせん断粘度を測定した。せん断速度が1(1/s)の時のせん断粘度を表4に示した。
ポリエーテルエステル系化合物1、3、4、6、7、8を分散剤として用いて、下記のとおり、非水系分散体組成物を調製した。なお、ポリエーテルエステル系化合物1、3、4を用いて得られた非水系分散体組成物を実施例13〜15とし、ポリエーテルエステル系化合物6〜8を用いて得られた非水系分散体組成物を比較例10〜12とした。
50mLスクリュー管に、酸化アルミニウム粉体(平均粒径:0.4μm、レーザー回折法により測定)20.0g、トルエン/エタノール混合溶媒(1/1、質量比)5.0g、および分散剤0.2gを秤量し、自転公転型ミキサーで5分間攪拌し、予備分散を行った。その後、1.0mmのジルコニアビーズを用いてビーズミルで3時間分散することにより、スラリー状の非水系分散体組成物を得た。
実施例13〜15および比較例10〜12の非水系分散体組成物を用いて、分散試験を行った。
各非水系分散体組成物について、動的粘弾性装置(Paar Physica MCR−300、AntonPaar社製)を用いて、温度20℃、せん断速度が0.1〜100(1/s)に対するせん断粘度を測定した。せん断速度が1(1/s)の時のせん断粘度を表5に示した。
また室温で1週間静置した各非水系分散体組成物のせん断粘度を同一の条件で測定した。せん断速度が1(1/s)の時のせん断粘度を併せて表5に示した。
一方、m/nが範囲外であるポリエーテルエステル系化合物6および7、また本発明に係る式(1)で示されるポリエーテルエステル系化合物におけるアルキレンオキサイドの付加形態が逆になった構造を有するポリエーテルエステル系化合物8を添加した比較例7〜9の非水系分散体組成物は、製造直後のせん断粘度が高いだけでなく、経時的な粘度変化も大きいことから、製造直後の分散性のみならず、分散安定性にも劣ることが分かる。

- A2Oが炭素数3のオキシプロピレン基であることを特徴とする、請求項1記載の非水系分散剤。
- 請求項1または2記載の非水系分散剤、非水系溶媒、および前記非水系分散剤によって分散された分散体を含有する、非水系分散体組成物。
