Claims (15)
- 光源からの光を混合する光混合器であって、
透明な材料で形成されたで柱形状であり、該柱形状の上面または底面の最外径よりも側面の長さが大きく、かつ前記底面には前記光源から出射される光が入射面と、前記上面には光が出射する出射面と、
前記入射面側に位置し、透明部材で形成される第1の透明部と、
前記第1の透明部に密接し散乱粒子を含む粒子部と、を有し、
内部には、光を散乱させる機能を有する多数の前記散乱粒子を含み、
前記光混合器の側面が、光を反射する機能を有し、
前記光混合器の上面と底面が、光を透過する機能を有し、
前記入射面から入射した光が、前記側面の反射機能と、前記散乱粒子の散乱機能とによって混合され、混合された光が前記出射面から出射し、
かつ該光混合器の内部に備わった前記散乱粒子の密度を、前記入射面から前記出射面との間において異ならせた
ことを特徴とする光混合器。 - 請求項1に記載の光混合器であって、
前記散乱粒子の密度は、前記入射面側よりも前記出射面側の方が大きいことを特徴とする光混合器。 - 請求項1に記載の光混合器であって、
前記第1の透明部と前記粒子部は接合され、前記第1の透明部と前記粒子部の境界面は同じである
ことを特徴とする光混合器。 - 請求項1記載の光混合器であって、
該光混合器の前記上面または前記底面側とで、前記透明な材料の領域と、前記透明な材料と前記散乱粒子が混合した領域とで分けたことを特徴とした光混合器。 - 請求項4記載の光混合器であって、
前記散乱粒子は、透明な略球体形状とし、前記光混合器の前記透明な材料とは異なる屈折率としたことを特徴とする光混合器。 - 請求項5記載の光混合器であって、
前記光混合器の側面の長さLに対する前記上面または底面の最外径LMの比(L/LM)は、3より小さいことを特徴とする光混合器。 - 請求項6記載の光混合器であって、
前記光混合器の内部に配備された前記散乱粒子の体積密度は、1%より小さいことを特徴とする光混合器。 - 請求項7記載の光混合器であって、
前記散乱粒子の直径は、1μmないし5μmの範囲としたことを特徴とする光混合器。 - 複数波長の均質な光を出射する複数波長均質光源であって、
波長の異なる光を出射する複数の光源を具備した光源基板と、
前記光源基板に搭載された、光を混合する光混合器と、を備え、
該光混合器は、
透明な材料で形成されたで柱形状であり、該柱形状の上面または底面の最外径よりも側面の長さが大きく、かつ前記底面には前記光源から出射される光が入射面と、前記上面には光が出射する出射面と、
前記入射面側に位置し、透明部材で形成される第1の透明部と、
前記第1の透明部に密接し散乱粒子を含む粒子部と、を有し、
内部には、光を散乱させる機能を有する多数の前記散乱粒子を含み、
前記光混合器の側面が、光を反射する機能を有し、
前記光混合器の上面と底面が、光を透過する機能を有し、
前記入射面から入射した光が、前記側面の反射機能と、前記散乱粒子の散乱機能とによって混合され、混合された光が前記出射面から出射し、
かつ該光混合器の内部に備わった前記散乱粒子の密度を、前記入射面から前記出射面との間において異ならせた
ことを特徴とする複数波長均質光源。 - 請求項9に記載の複数波長均質光源であって、
前記散乱粒子の密度は、前記入射面側よりも前記出射面側の方が大きい
ことを特徴とする複数波長均質光源。 - 請求項9に記載の複数波長均質光源であって、
前記第1の透明部と前記粒子部は接合され、前記第1の透明部と前記粒子部の接合の境界面は同じである
ことを特徴とする複数波長均質光源。 - 請求項9乃至11のいずれかに記載の複数波長均質光源であって、
波長の異なる複数の前記光源が、前記光源基板に配置され、
かつ前記光混合器は、略正三角柱または、四角形、または、略正六角柱である
ことを特徴とする映像装置用の複数波長均質光源。 - 請求項12に記載の複数波長均質光源であって、
前記複数の光源として、R光源と、G光源と、B光源と、Y光源の4つの光源が、前記光源基板に略正四角形に配置され、
かつ前記光混合器は、前記配置に対応した正四角柱である、
ことを特徴とする映像装置用の複数波長均質光源。 - 請求項9乃至11のいずれかに記載の複数波長均質光源であって、
前記散乱粒子は、透明な略球体形状とし、前記光混合器の前記透明な材料とは異なる屈折率としたことを特徴とする複数波長均質光源。 - 請求項9乃至11のいずれかに記載の複数波長均質光源であって、
前記光源基板に配置された前記複数の光源と、前記光混合器の前記入射面との間は、前記光混合器の透明な材料と略同じ屈折率の材料で満たされていることを特徴とする複数波長均質光源。
