Description
すなわち、本発明には、以下の好適な実施態様が含まれる。
〔1〕水蒸気吸着法により計測した細孔径分布において、最大ピーク値が11Å以上である、気相吸着用活性炭。
〔2〕四塩化炭素吸着性能が70%以上である、〔1〕に記載の気相吸着用活性炭。
〔3〕活性炭の粒度が4meshから150meshの範囲である、〔1〕または〔2〕に記載の気相吸着用活性炭。
〔4〕活性炭はヤシ殻を原料とする、〔1〕〜〔3〕のいずれかに記載の気相吸着用活性炭。
〔5〕〔1〕〜〔4〕のいずれかに記載の気相吸着用活性炭を含むガスマスク。

Vm:水の分子容(cm3/mol)=18.079(30℃)
γ:水の表面張力(dyne/cm)=71.15(30℃)
φ:毛細管壁と水との接触角(°)=55°
R=ガス定数(erg/deg・mol)=8.3143×107
T:絶対温度(K)=303.15
P:細孔内の水の示す飽和蒸気圧(mmHg)
P0:水の1気圧(絶対圧)、30℃における飽和蒸気圧(mmHg)=31.824
バッチ式ロータリーキルンを用いて、粒度が8/16meshのヤシ殻炭化物1kgを、賦活温度920℃において、水蒸気分圧30%の水蒸気を用いて、10時間、賦活処理し、活性炭(1)を得た。
賦活温度を940℃にした以外は、実施例1と同様の操作を行い、活性炭(2)を得た。
賦活処理の時間を13時間とした以外は、実施例1と同様の操作を行い、活性炭(3)を得た。
賦活処理の時間を16時間とした以外は、実施例1と同様の操作を行い、活性炭(4)を得た。
粒度が20/50meshのヤシ殻炭化物を用いた以外は、実施例1と同様の操作を行い、活性炭(5)を得た。
粒度が60/150meshのヤシ殻炭化物を用いた以外は、実施例1と同様の操作を行い、活性炭(6)を得た。
賦活処理の時間を8時間とした以外は、実施例1と同様の操作を行い、活性炭(7)を得た。
バッチ式の流動炉を用いて、粒度が8/16meshのヤシ殻炭化物500gを、賦活温度920℃において、LPG燃焼ガスと水蒸気との混合ガスを用いて、3時間、賦活処理し、活性炭(8)を得た。
賦活処理の時間を6時間とした以外は、実施例1と同様の操作を行い、活性炭(9)を得た。
・水吸着量
湿度85%の環境下において、活性炭を充填した上記カートリッジを6時間放置した後に、活性炭に吸着される水の量を測定することによって、水吸着量を測定した。
・EQOVSL
湿度85%の環境下において、活性炭を充填した上記カートリッジを6時間放置した後、シクロヘキサン1000ppmに付し、5ppm透過するまでの時間を測定することによって、EQOVSLを測定した。なお、この値が高い程、高湿度条件下における有機ガスに対する吸着性能に優れる。EQOVSLが110分以上であることが好ましい。
一方、比較例1および2において得られた活性炭(8)および(9)は、水吸着量が高く、EQOVSLが短いため、サービスライフ性能が低くなった。そのため、活性炭(8)および(9)では、本発明の課題を達成することはできなかった。
Claims (3)
- 水蒸気吸着法により計測した細孔径分布において、最大ピーク値が11Å以上15Å以下である、ヤシ殻を原料とする気相吸着用活性炭を含むガスマスク。
- 前記活性炭の四塩化炭素吸着性能が70%以上である、請求項1に記載のガスマスク。
- 前記活性炭の粒度が4meshから150meshの範囲である、請求項1または2に記載のガスマスク。
