Claims (8)
- 複合構成部品に三次元ランダム繊維配向を生じさせる方法であって、
単向性の複合繊維テープ(102)の複数の幅狭フレーク(304)を型容器(206)に移すステップ(702)であって、複数の幅狭フレーク(304)は各々隣接する幅狭フレーク(304)との結合が解除され、前記複数の幅狭フレーク(304)のうちの少なくとも大部分は少なくとも6:1の縦横比を有する、ステップ(702)と、
前記複数の幅狭フレーク(304)を前記型容器(206)内で加熱するステップ(706)と、
前記複数の幅狭フレーク(304)を前記型容器(206)内で前記型容器(206)全体に圧縮して(706)、前記複合構成部品を作製するステップと、
前記単向性の複合繊維テープを複数のフレーク(104)に切断するステップ(802)と、
前記複数のフレーク(104)を前記繊維の軸線に沿って破砕して(804)、少なくとも6:1の縦横比を有する前記複数の幅狭フレーク(304)を作製するステップと、を含む方法。 - 前記単向性の複合繊維テープ(102)は、単向性の熱可塑性テープを含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記複数のフレーク(104)を前記繊維(104)の軸線に沿って破砕して、前記複数の幅狭フレーク(304)を作製するステップが、
前記複数のフレーク(104)のうちの大部分が少なくとも6:1の縦横比を含むまで前記複数のフレーク(104)を複数の細切刃(504)を有する混合装置(502)で混合して前記複数の幅狭フレーク(304)を作製するステップ(804)を含む、請求項1または2に記載の方法。 - 前記単向性の複合繊維テープ(102)が単向性の熱可塑性テープを含み、前記方法は、
前記単向性の熱可塑性テープを複数の幅狭テープリボン(602)に細長く切るステップ(902)と、
前記複数の幅狭テープリボン(602)をおおよそ等しい寸法属性を有する前記複数の幅狭フレーク(304)に切断するステップ(904)と、をさらに含む、請求項1に記載の方法。 - 前記縦横比が実質的に8:1を含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
