Claims (11)
- 溶融材料が清澄チャンバ中の減圧に遭遇したときに生成される泡沫を調節する方法であって、
前記溶融材料を、傾斜した導管を通して、前記清澄チャンバ中に流入させる工程であって、その際に該溶融材料中の気泡が該導管の表面に集積される、工程、および
前記溶融材料をして、前記清澄チャンバ中の熟成区域を通過させる工程であって、その際に、前記泡沫の密度が減少し、また、前記溶融材料が前記泡沫の気泡の間から下方に向かって流れ出る、工程、および
前記溶融材料が流れ出た泡沫の気泡を破壊する工程
を有してなる方法。 - 前記導管の表面に集積された気泡を、該導管が前記清澄チャンバに接続される前の位置で該導管に接続された直立管を通して除去する工程をさらに含むことを特徴とする請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記溶融材料の流れ出た泡沫の気泡を破壊する工程が、該気泡を広げ、破壊させるための機械式回転体を使用することを含むことを特徴とする請求項1または2記載の方法。
- 前記溶融材料の流れ出た泡沫の気泡を破壊する工程が、該溶融材料の流れ出た泡沫に向けてガスジェットを発射するノズルを使用することを含むことを特徴とする請求項1または2記載の方法。
- 前記溶融材料の流れ出た泡沫の気泡を破壊する工程が、該溶融材料の流れ出た泡沫に向けて粒子を含むガススプレーを発射する泡沫破壊手段を使用することを含むことを特徴とする請求項1または2記載の方法。
- 大気圧より低い圧力を有すると共に熟成区域を備えた清澄チャンバであって、溶融材料が該清澄チャンバ中の大気圧より低い圧力に遭遇したときに泡沫が生成され、前記溶融材料が前記熟成区域を通過する間に、前記泡沫の密度が減少し、また、前記泡沫の気泡の間から該溶融材料が下方に向かって流れ出る、清澄チャンバ、
該清澄チャンバに溶融材料を導くための第1の導管であって、該第1の導管は垂直に対して傾斜しており、前記溶融材料中の気泡が、該溶融材料が該第1の導管を通って流動するときに該第1の導管の表面に集積される第1の導管、
前記清澄チャンバから前記溶融材料を除去するための第2の導管、および
前記溶融材料が流れ出た泡沫の気泡を破壊する手段、
を備えてなる減圧清澄器。 - 前記第1の導管が前記清澄チャンバに接続される前の位置で該第1の導管に接続された直立管であって、前記第1の導管の表面に集積された気泡をそこを通して除去する直立管をさらに備えることを特徴とする請求項6記載の減圧清澄器。
- 前記直立管が、該直立管中の溶融材料の境界線が前記清澄チャンバ中の溶融材料の境界線よりも上にあるように位置していることを特徴とする請求項7記載の減圧清澄器。
- 前記溶融材料が流れ出た泡沫の気泡を破壊する手段が、
(1)前記気泡を広げ、破壊させるための機械式回転体;
(2)前記溶融材料の流れ出た泡沫に向けてガスジェットを発射するノズル;または
(3)前記溶融材料の流れ出た泡沫に向けて粒子を含むガススプレーを発射する泡沫破壊手段;
のいずれかであることを特徴とする請求項6から8いずれか1項記載の減圧清澄器。 - 前記溶融材料が流れ出た泡沫の気泡を破壊する手段が前記ノズルであり、該ノズルが、
(i)回転ノズル;
(ii)パルス状ガスジェットを発射するノズル;または
(iii)内側管が第1のガスを通し、外側管が第2のガスを通して前記ガスジェットを形成する、これら内側管と外側管の2つの同心管を有するノズル;
のいずれかであることを特徴とする請求項9記載の減圧清澄器。 - 前記第1のガスが水素であり、前記第2のガスが酸素であることを特徴とする請求項10記載の減圧清澄器。
