- ロボットバンパーであって、
前面と、前面から離れるように傾斜した頂面とを有し、受け入れられるロボットシャーシの形状に一致するバンパー本体(107)と、
前記バンパー本体(107)に設けられた力吸収層(188)と、
複数の電気接触点(160)を有する薄膜スイッチ層(120)と、
前記力吸収層(188)と前記薄膜スイッチ層(120)との間に配置された力伝達層(180)と、を備え、
前記力伝達層(180)は、力を前記薄膜スイッチ層(120)に伝達するための、複数の力伝達要素(185)を備えており、
前記力吸収層(188)、前記薄膜スイッチ層(120)、及び前記力伝達層(180)は、前記バンパー本体(107)の頂面まで延び、
前記薄膜スイッチ層(120)は、
複数の電気接触点(160a)を有する第1のシート(130)と、
複数の電気接触点(160b)を有する第2のシート(140)と、
前記第1のシート(130)と前記第2のシート(140)の間に配置され、前記第1のシート(130)上の前記複数の電気接触点(160a)と前記第2のシート(140)上の前記複数の電気接触点(160b)とを分離するセパレータ層(150)と、
を備え、
前記第1のシート(130)及び前記第2のシート(140)のそれぞれの平面上における対応する位置に、前記第1のシート(130)上の前記複数の電気接触点(160a)及び前記第2のシート(140)上の前記複数の電気接触点(160b)がそれぞれ配置されており、
前記複数の力伝達要素(185)は、前記第1のシート(130)上の前記複数の電気接触点(160a)及び前記第2のシート(140)上の前記複数の電気接触点(160b)と位置合わせされており、
前記セパレータ層(150)は、前記第1のシート(130)上の前記複数の電気接触点(160a)と前記第2のシート(140)上の前記複数の電気接触点(160b)との接触を可能にする複数の開口(170)を有し、
前記複数の電気接触点(160a、160b)のうち、前記第1および第2のシート(130、140)が一緒に圧縮される際に接触する電気接触点の数は、前記ロボットバンパーに生じた衝撃による力の大きさを表す、ロボットバンパー。 - 前記セパレータ層(150)はピエゾ抵抗材料を備える、請求項1に記載のロボットバンパー(108)。
- 前記第1のシート(130)上の前記電気接触点(160a)は、第1のパターンを形成し、前記第2のシート(140)上の前記電気接触点(160b)は第2のパターンを形成する、請求項1に記載のロボットバンパー(108)。
- 前記第1のパターンおよび前記第2のパターンは同一である、請求項3に記載のロボットバンパー(108)
- 前記力吸収層(188)、前記薄膜スイッチ層(120)及び前記力伝達層(180)は、ロボットシャーシ(104)の形状に一致する、請求項1乃至4のいずれか一項に記載のロボットバンパー(108)。
