Description
この出願は、「流体配送システムと方法」と題する2012年2月24日出願の米国仮出願第61/602898の優先権を主張するとともに、ここでその全文を本願に援用する。
本発明は、流体を配送するシステムと方法に関するものである。以下に説明する本発明の各種態様は、流体中に混入する気体を最小限に抑え、多様な流体容器からの流体移送に対応し、既知の流体配送システムに伴うコストと廃棄物を最小限に抑えるシステムと方法に関するものである。本発明で注目するのは主に半導体用途のための流体配送システムと方法であるが、本願で開示するシステムと方法は幅広い分野に適用することができる。
流体保存・配給容器は、工業、商業、個人など多種多様な目的で使用されるが、半導体製造、生物医学、製薬プロセスなど、高純度流体の供給を必要とする他の多くの分野が、これらに限定はしない。各種の液体、気体、固体液体スラリーをこれらの容器、例えば、圧力定格ステンレス鋼貯蔵シリンダーから供給することができる。
本発明は、流体配送システムと方法に関するものである。
本発明は、バルクキャニスターと処理キャニスターとの間に圧力緩衝器として機能する移送容器を組み込んだ、流体移送のシステムと方法に関連している。実施例によっては、バルクキャニスターから移送容器に真空を用いて移すことで、高圧定格ステンレス鋼容器の必要をなくすこともできる。その後、移送容器に移された内容物は加圧により処理キャニスターまで移動させることもできる。別の実施例として、バルクキャニスター内の材料を比較的低い圧力で中間移送容器(「貯留容器」とも呼ぶ)に移すこともできる。次に、貯留容器から材料を比較的高い圧力で下流の工程(設備、例えば処理キャニスター)まで移送することもできる。

Claims (8)
- 真空および圧力での流体循環に適応した流体供給システムであって、
少なくともひとつのバルクキャニスターと、
使用場所まで流体を配送するための処理キャニスターと、
少なくともひとつのバルクキャニスターから処理キャニスターに流体を供給する移送容器とを備えており、
移送容器が少なくともひとつのバルクキャニスターの容積及び処理キャニスターの容積よりも小さい容積を有し、移送容器が、(i)少なくともひとつのバルクキャニスターから移送容器内に流体を引き込むためと、そのバルクキャニスター内の真空状態を選択的に維持するために配置された真空源と、(ii)移送容器から処理キャニスターに流体を圧送するために配置された第一の加圧ガス源とに接続され、移送容器が真空状態と加圧状態との間で切り替えられるように適応したシステム。 - 圧力を用いて流体を使用場所まで移送するための第二の加圧ガス源に処理キャニスターを接続した、請求項1に記載のシステム。
- 少なくともひとつのバルクキャニスター内の流体の圧力を感知して圧力を示すトランスデューサー出力を生成するようにした少なくともひとつの圧力トランスデューサーと、トランスデューサーからの出力を受信しこれに応じて流体の圧力の変化率を求めるようにしたプロセッサとを備え、少なくともひとつのバルクキャニスターの流体が空になり始めたとき、そのバルクキャニスター内の流体が空になり始める時点と相関して圧力の変化率が増加したことを示すプロセッサ出力をプロセッサが出すようにした、請求項1に記載のシステム。
- 移送容器の流体保持容積を、少なくともひとつのバルクキャニスターと処理キャニスターのいずれかの流体保持容積未満とした、請求項1に記載のシステム。
- 流体を使用のために配送する方法であって、
少なくともひとつのバルクキャニスターから移送容器内に真空によって流体を引き込む過程と、
移送容器を加圧して流体を強制的に処理キャニスターへ配給する過程と、
処理キャニスターにガスを供給して使用場所まで流体の移送を達成する過程であって、処理キャニスターに供給されるガスの圧力が移送容器に供給されるガスよりも低い、過程と、
移送容器を真空状態と加圧状態との間で切り替える過程とを含む方法。 - 少なくともひとつのバルクキャニスターと処理キャニスターとの間の流体流路に配置された弁を閉じる過程と、

のうちのいずれかひとつ以上を含む、請求項5に記載の方法。 - 移送容器の流体保持容積を少なくともひとつのバルクキャニスターと処理キャニスターのいずれかの流体保持容積よりも小さくした、請求項6に記載の方法。
- 少なくともひとつのバルクキャニスター内の流体の圧力を感知しこれに応答して圧力を示すトランスデューサー出力を生成する過程と、
トランスデューサー出力から流体の圧力の変化率を決定する過程と、
少なくともひとつのバルクキャニスター内の流体の圧力の変化率からそのバルクキャニスター内の流体が空になりかけている時点を決定する過程とを含む、請求項6に記載の方法。
