Description
本発明の光学フィルムの製造方法の一実施形態について、図1を用いて説明する。図1は、本実施形態に係る光学フィルムの製造方法を説明するための説明図である。
蒸留精製したテトラヒドロフラン180gに、4−(6−アクリロイロキシヘキシルオキシ)安息香酸151.3g(518mmol)と2,6−ジターシャリーブチル−4−メチルフェノール1.5gとを溶解した後、ジイソプロピルエチルアミン70.1g(543mmol)を加え、溶液を得た。この溶液を、メタンスルホニルクロリド62.1g(543mmol)のテトラヒドロフラン溶液を−10℃に冷却したもの中に攪拌しながら滴下した。滴下終了後、該反応液を0℃まで昇温してさらに攪拌した後、メチルヒドロキノン29.87g(246mmol)のテトラヒドロフラン溶液を反応液中に滴下した。さらに反応液を攪拌し、4−ジメチルアミノピリジン3.0g(25mmol)をトリエチルアミン62.4g(617mmol)に溶解したものを反応液中に滴下した。滴下後、反応液を0℃で1時間攪拌し、次いで室温に昇温してさらに5時間攪拌した。反応終了後、反応液を1000mlの酢酸エチルで希釈し、分液ロートに移した後、1規定塩酸で分液し、さらに有機層を1規定塩酸、飽和炭酸水素ナトリウム水溶液、飽和硫酸マグネシウム水溶液で洗浄した。有機層に100gの無水硫酸マグネシウムを加えて室温で1時間攪拌することにより脱水・乾燥し、硫酸マグネシウムを濾別後、ロータリーエバポレーターにより濃縮してメチルヒドロキノン−ビス(4−(6−アクリロイロキシヘキシルオキシ)安息香酸)エステルを粗生成物として得た。該粗生成物を酢酸エチル/メタノールにより再結晶することによりメチルヒドロキノン−ビス(4−(6−アクリロイロキシヘキシルオキシ)安息香酸)エステル146.9gを白色結晶として得た(収率85.2%)。得られた化合物のGPCによる純度は98.7%であった。GPCは、溶出溶媒としてテトラヒドロフランを用い、高速GPC用充填カラム(TSKgel G−1000HXL)を装着した東ソー製GPC分析装置CCP&8000(CP−8000、CO−8000、UV−8000)により行った。得られたメチルヒドロキノン−ビス(4−(6−アクリロイロキシヘキシルオキシ)安息香酸)エステルを偏光顕微鏡下、メトラーホットステージで観察すると、室温では結晶相であり、85℃付近でネマティック相に転移し、さらに加熱すると115℃付近で等方相となることが確認された。
PEN(ポリエチレンナフタレート)フィルム上に、PVA(ポリビニルアルコール)4質量%、純水76.8質量%、IPA(イソプロピルアルコール)19.2質量%からなる溶液を、乾燥後の厚みで1.2μmとなるように塗布し、40℃から130℃まで順次高温となる乾燥炉で36秒間乾燥させて配向膜を形成した。この配向膜に対して、ラビング布を貼り付けたラビングロールを用いてラビング処理を施した。
Claims (9)
- 液晶層を有する光学フィルムの製造方法であって、
配向能を付与した配向膜上の一部の領域に、前記配向膜の構成材料を溶解可能であり、且つ、水を含む溶媒を塗布して、前記一部の領域の配向能を消失させる溶媒塗布工程と、
配向能が消失した一部の領域を有する配向膜上に液晶材料を含む液晶性組成物を塗布し、加熱により前記液晶材料を配向させた後、配向を固定して前記液晶層を形成する液晶層形成工程と、
を含む光学フィルムの製造方法。 - 前記液晶材料がコレステリック液晶を含む、請求項1記載の光学フィルムの製造方法。
- 前記配向膜の前記配向能がラビングにより付与されたものである、請求項1又は2記載の光学フィルムの製造方法。
- 前記配向膜がポリビニルアルコールを含み、且つ、前記溶媒が水、又は、水を含むエタノール、水を含むイソプロピルアルコール若しくはそれらの混合溶媒である、請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載の光学フィルムの製造方法。
- 液晶層を有する光学フィルムであって、
前記液晶層の一部の領域の液晶材料と他の領域の液晶材料とは同一の材料であり、且つ、前記一部の領域の液晶材料と前記他の領域の液晶材料とは配向状態が異なり、
前記液晶層は、配向能が消失した一部の領域を有する配向膜上に前記液晶材料を塗布してなる層である、光学フィルム。 - 前記一部の領域の液晶材料と前記他の領域の液晶材料との配向状態が異なることで前記液晶層に図柄が形成された、請求項5記載の光学フィルム。
- 前記液晶材料がコレステリック液晶を含む、請求項5又は6記載の光学フィルム。
- 前記液晶層の一方の面上に透光性保護フィルムを更に有する、請求項5〜7のいずれか一項に記載の光学フィルム。
- 前記液晶層の前記透光性保護フィルムとは反対側の面上に粘着剤又はホットメルト剤を更に有する、請求項8に記載の光学フィルム。
