・固有粘度(IV)は、ASTM−D1601/2004に従い、デカリン中、135℃で、溶解時間を16時間とし、酸化防止剤として2g/l−溶液の量のDBPCを用い、異なる濃度で測定した粘度を濃度ゼロに外挿することにより測定する。IVとMwの間にはいくつかの経験則があるが、そのような関係は分子量分布に大きく依存する。式、Mw=5.37*104[IV]1.37(欧州特許出願公開第0504954A1号明細書を参照)に基づけば、4.5dl/gのIVが、約422kg/molのMwと等価になるであろう。
・ポリエチレンまたはUHMWPEの側鎖は、2mm厚さの圧縮成形フィルムについてFTIRにより、1375cm−1における吸収を定量し、NMR測定に基づく検量線(例えば、欧州特許第0269151号明細書にあるような)を使用することにより測定する。
・繊維の引張特性、すなわち強度および弾性率は、ASTM D885Mに規定するマルチフィラメント糸について、繊維の公称ゲージ長500mm、クロスヘッド速度50%/min、および型式Fibre Grip D5618CのInstron 2714クランプを使用して測定した。強度の計算は、10mの繊維を秤量して求めたタイターで、測定された張力を除し、GPa単位の値は、ポリマーの自然密度を仮定して、例えばUHMWPEでは0.97g/cm3として、算出する。
・テープおよびフィルムの引張特性:引張強度および引張弾性率は、ASTM D882に規定する幅2mmのテープ(適用可能であれば、細長く切ったもの)について、テープの公称ゲージ長131mm、クロスヘッド速度50mm/minを使用し、20℃で定義し、測定する。
・エンドレス型製品の破断強度は、乾燥した試料について、Zwick 1484 Universal test machineを使用して、約21℃の温度、100mm/minの速度で測定する。エンドレス型製品は、Dシャックルを使用して試験し、シャックルの直径とそれに結合された試験製品の厚さの比は5であった。Dシャックルは、比較用スリングとは平行に配置し、180度捩れたスリングとは直交するように配置する。
・効率は、測定したエンドレス型製品の破断強度を、材料片の公称引張強度とエンドレス型製品の材料片の回旋数の2倍との積で除すことにより求める。
以下の実施例および比較実験のエンドレス型製品は、Dyneema(登録商標)SK75を含む、幅および長さが25.4mm×1.4mmの細幅織の片で作られている。この片は、Gueth&Wolfから商業的に入手でき(シルバーグレイ1’’織り)、4トン(39.2kN)の公称破断強度と25g/mの脚部重量を有している。
ある長さの片をきつく回旋させて、全回旋数が8の螺旋スリングを形成した。そうして形成された螺旋スリングは、約400mmの内周および約465mmの外周を有した。全体で約3.5mの片を使用した。スリングの両端を螺旋スリングの厚さを挟んで反対側に約50mm互いに重ねた。両端を、片の幅全体と長さ40mmにわたって、Xtreme−tech 20/40(Amann)を備えたMWステッチング装置により、螺旋スリングの厚さ方向に縫い合わせる。縫い合わされた螺旋スリングは、材料片の8回旋に対応して、約200g/mの脚部重量を有した。このスリングの理論破断強度は、627.2kN(39.2kN×8×2)と計算された。
ある長さの片をきつく回旋させて、片の各回旋が180度捩られた0型スリングを形成した。約3.5mの片を用い、全部で8回の回旋を行った。そうして形成された180度の捩れを有するスリングは、その凡その周囲長が400mm(内側)および約465mm(外側)であった。スリングの両端を約50mm重ね合わせ、40mmの長さにわたって、Xtreme−tech 20/40(Amann)を備えたMWステッチング装置により、180度捩られたスリングの厚み方向に縫い合わせる。捩られたスリングは、材料片の8回の回旋に対応して、約200g/mの脚部重量を有した。このスリングの理論破断強度は、627.2kNと計算された。
Claims (1)
- エンドレス型製品を製造する方法であって、
前記エンドレス型製品は、複数の回旋を形成する1つの、長手方向の軸を有する材料片を含み、前記片の各回旋が、前記片の長手方向の軸に沿った、180度の奇数倍の捩れを含み、前記片の回旋が、ある長さの前記片が前記片の長手方向の軸に垂直な任意の面で始まりその同じ面でエンドレスの形で終わり、これにより前記片のループが定義されることを特徴とし、
