Claims (2)
- 内燃機関の排気通路内の排気を浄化するための触媒が収容された筒状をなす触媒ケースの端部から下流側に向かって漸次縮径となる一方側の側面部と、
この一方側の側面部よりも外方に膨出し、軸を挟んで前記一方側の側面部と対向する位置に設けられる他方側の側面部と、
前記排気通路と内燃機関の吸気通路とを連通する排気ガス再循環通路を形成するパイプを前記他方側の側面部の外側から取り付けるためのパイプ取付部と
を備える下流側ケースを具備し、
前記他方側の側面部が、前記触媒の直下から前記パイプ取付部の下端部近傍まで略同一の径であるとともに、パイプ取付部の下端部近傍から前記一方側の側面部よりも急に縮径している触媒コンバータ。 - 前記他方側の側面部の外面側に成形された平面部分に前記パイプ取付部が設けられ、その平面部分は内方への突出部分を有さない請求項1記載の触媒コンバータ。
