[0071]この実施例は、本発明の実施形態によるブロードバンドUV及び他の化学物質による熱グラフト化を用いる膜の調製方法を示している。
[0076]この実施例は、未処理(対照)PTFE膜及び市販のUV処理されたPTFE膜に比べて、本発明の実施形態に従って調製される親水化された膜についての金属除去効率を示している。
Claims (18)
- 多孔質PTFE膜を親水化する方法であって、
(a)多孔質PTFE膜をガスプラズマ及びブロードバンドUVから選択されるエネルギー源に曝露し、前記膜を前処理するステップと、
(b)前記前処理した膜を処理して親水性コーティングを提供するステップと、
(c)親水化された多孔質PTFE膜を得るステップと
を備え、
ステップ(b)が、(i)前記膜をポリスチレンスルホン酸(PSSA)又はスチレンスルホン酸(SSA)モノマー溶液に曝露し、親水性PSSA又は親水性SSAポリマーコーティングを提供すること、又は、(ii)前記膜をドーパミンに曝露し、親水性ドーパミンコーティングを提供することを含む、
方法。 - ステップ(a)が、前記膜をプラズマに少なくとも15分間曝露することを備える、請求項1に記載の方法。
- ステップ(a)が、前記膜の孔を、水、アルコール、過酸化水素、亜硫酸ナトリウム、亜硫酸アンモニウム、硫酸アンモニウム、アルミン酸ナトリウム、硫酸銅、ホウ酸、塩酸、及び硝酸からなる群から選択される液体で含浸しながら、前記膜を前記ブロードバンドUVに曝露することを備える、請求項1に記載の方法。
- ステップ(b)が、グラフト化を含む、請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- グラフト化前に、前記前処理された膜を開始剤に曝露することを含む、請求項1〜4のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- ステップ(b)が、熱グラフト化を含む、請求項1〜5のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記ガスプラズマが、少なくとも2種のガスの混合物を含む、請求項1、2、及び4〜6のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記ガスプラズマが、有機ガス及び/又は無機ガスを含む、請求項1、2、及び4〜7のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記親水性コーティングを提供するステップの後に、前記膜を洗浄するステップをさらに備える、請求項1〜8のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記膜を洗浄するステップがイソプロピルアルコール(IPA)洗浄を備える、請求項9記載の方法。
- 前記親水化されたPTFE膜を乾燥するステップをさらに備える、請求項1〜10のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記親水化された多孔質PTFE膜が、少なくとも75ダイン/cm(75×10−5N/cm)の臨界湿潤表面張力(CWST)を有する、請求項1〜11のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- ガスプラズマ及びブロードバンドUVから選択されるエネルギー源に曝露された多孔質PTFE膜と、該多孔質PTFE膜の表面上に設けられたドーパミンを含む親水性ドーパミンコーティングと、を有する、親水化された多孔質PTFE膜。
- 金属含有流体を濾過する方法であって、金属含有流体を請求項13に記載の膜に通し、前記流体から金属を除去するステップ
を備える方法。 - 前記金属含有流体が、エレクトロニクス産業に用いられる流体である、請求項14に記載の方法。
- 前記金属含有流体から多価金属及び/又は遷移金属を除去することを備える、請求項14又は15に記載の方法。
- 硫酸と過酸化水素との混合物(SPM)流体を濾過する方法であって、前記SPM流体を請求項13に記載の膜に通し、前記流体から粒子を除去するステップ
を備える方法。 - 前記流体から金属も除去することを備える、請求項17に記載の方法。
